Chapter 35: Chapter 35 If She Could Move at All, She Would Never Obey Quietly
Cheng Zhiwei was emotionally unstable, seeing Zhou Lin annoyed to death, yet he still forced her into the car against her wishes.
Cheng Zhiwei was infuriated.
In the confined space of the car, she struggled, wanting to get out.
He showered Bai Zhuzhu with affection but treated her, his wife, like she was worthless. Why should she comply with his wishes and appease his desires?
She simply refused to go.
She kicked and thrashed. Any movent she could make, she would not obediently listen.
Zhou Lin pulled at her several tis and almost couldn’t hold on. When she couldn’t open the door, she started hitting and kicking him. His own temper flared, and he trapped her hands with his large palms, lifted her towards him with one hand, sandwiched her legs with his own, and then locked her waist, almost completely imprisoning her in his embrace.
And Cheng Zhiwei sat on Zhou Lin’s thighs, her body forced against his chest, his breath enveloping her. Such an intimate position made her not only uncomfortable, but her entire body tensed up.
She wouldn’t give up, her hair ca loose, her eyes burned with angry flas, and they were bright with tears. Her cheeks were flushed with a lively vibrancy.
Like a little lunatic.
Her stubbornness provoked a strong desire to conquer her.
Just the second before, Zhou Lin was pleased with himself for having restrained Cheng Zhiwei, but the next second he suddenly realized their current positions were unprecedentedly intimate.
As if he just needed to lower his head a little bit, and he could touch her pretty cheeks, feel her sweet breath...
When the commotion in the backseat subsided, the driver coughed awkwardly and tentatively asked, "Young master, young madam, may we begin our journey now?"
Receiving no answer, he subconsciously looked up through the rear-view mirror, only to et a pair of cold, icy eyes.
Shrinking his shoulders, the driver didn’t say another word and started the car.
As the car started and automatically locked.
Zhou Lin imdiately let go of his hold.
Cheng Zhiwei scrambled to the other side, huddled in the corner in silence.
Her body and mind were radiating resistance, from the inside out.
The atmosphere in the car turned from amorous to awkward.
Zhou Lin rubbed his brow and was the first to break the silence, "Cheng Zhiwei, can’t you be more obedient?"
Certainly, in the past three years, she had always been sensible, never causing him any trouble.
What exactly had changed?
Cheng Zhiwei closed her eyes gripping the door handle; her black hair fell from her shoulders, hiding her powerless and sarcastic expression.
Being obedient hadn’t won his heart, his pity, his love.
What was the point?
She remained silent. Zhou Lin scoffed coldly and said nothing more.
Half an hour later, the car arrived at the Zhou Family’s ho.
Lin Yu pulled Cheng Zhiwei aside with concern, seeing her swollen eyes, and hugged her with heartache, "Does your throat hurt? Or can you still not speak?"
Zhou Lin froze for a mont before his gaze lingered on Cheng Zhiwei’s indifferent face. Her throat?
No wonder she hadn’t spoken a word.
His fingers tapped to unlock his phone screen, and he sent a ssage to Secretary Zhang, asking him to look into the matter. Of course, it wasn’t out of concern, but to prevent Cheng Zhiwei from using the situation to cause trouble.
Or perhaps there was so concern after all, only buried under endless suspicion and distrust.
Seeing Zhou Lin’s expression, Lin Yu knew he had no idea about Cheng Zhiwei’s throat issue. He was so tired that he didn’t even bother to scold him, speaking with a not-so-pleasant tone, "Your father is waiting for you in the study."
Zhou Lin nodded and went upstairs.
Lin Yu took Cheng Zhiwei to the living room and sighed softly, "You child, such a big thing happened, and you didn’t tell
at all. Thankfully, Wang i is thoughtful.
Cheng Zhiwei bitter-smiled. She knew that instructing was useless, Wang i was Lin Yu’s person; she would definitely tell Lin Yu everything.
"There will be a guest coming later; he just happens to be a doctor," Lin Yu comforted, patting Cheng Zhiwei’s shoulder. "He’s fresh from studying abroad, and his dical skills are exceptional."
Cheng Zhiwei initially wanted to type out a ssage to Lin Yu saying she had already been checked, but then she thought about the concern from an elder and didn’t refuse.
Within a few minutes, the butler led in a young man. Lin Yu smiled and said, "Doctor ng is here."
Doctor ng?
Cheng Zhiwei looked up and saw ng Qiancheng.
ng Qiancheng naturally saw her too, his expression one of surprise, "Zhiwei?"
"You know each other?" Lin Yu was surprised.
ng Qiancheng explained, "Before I ca back, it was Zhiwei’s father who funded my university education. I lived in the Cheng family ho for four years."
"Look at this fate." Lin Yu was overjoyed and asked them to sit down.
ng Qiancheng looked at Cheng Zhiwei with a smile still on his face, but if one looked closely, there was a forced aspect between his brows, "Zhiwei is the daughter-in-law you ntioned?"
"Yes." Lin Yu nodded.
ng Qiancheng had been abroad for a total of five years; Cheng Zhiwei’s marriage was hasty, known only to a few friends and relatives, so ng Qiancheng overseas didn’t receive the news.
After sitting for a while, Lin Yu spoke of Cheng Zhiwei’s condition, and ng Qiancheng said, "I t Zhiwei at the hospital during the day. I’m already inford, and by tomorrow, we’ll know what’s going on when the test results co out."
Lin Yu instantly breathed a huge sigh of relief, "You were Old Lin’s student, and Old Lin has praised you again and again. Leaving this to you, I feel assured."
At this mont, the butler ca in to ask Lin Yu about sothing, and she followed him out.
The living room beca quiet for a ti.
After a while, ng Qiancheng finally spoke, his voice a bit hoarse with a bitter smile, "I really didn’t expect you to be married."
Cheng Zhiwei had no way to speak, so she could only nod.
Suddenly, ng Qiancheng moved closer to her, his expression changing several tis, hesitating to speak. Finally, he only touched her hair, "He’s not treating you well, is he?"
Cheng Zhiwei just smiled. Those things, even if she could speak, she wouldn’t tell ng Qiancheng.
But clearly, soone misunderstood.
Zhou Lin walked in with heavy footsteps, his brow raised as he sized up ng Qiancheng, then looked at Cheng Zhiwei, as if guessing the nature of their relationship.
He sat down on the other side of Cheng Zhiwei, his expression indifferently cool, "You know each other?"
ng Qiancheng smiled broadly, "Young President Zhou, hello, I am ng Qiancheng."
Zhou Lin’s face was expressionless, his arm resting on the back of the sofa behind Cheng Zhiwei. He was not in a good mood as he suddenly realized Cheng Zhiwei was quite popular. Wasn’t He Ye enough, and now there was ng Qiancheng?
Lin Yu ca back in and saw Zhou Lin had co down. She introduced, "This is Doctor ng, your Uncle Lin’s student. He just returned to the country and is very skilled. I called him to check on Zhiwei’s throat. Also, he and Zhiwei know each other."
ng Qiancheng adjusted his glasses, and through the gold-rimd lenses, his gaze flickered slightly as he casually added, "Yes, I’m Weiwei’s brother."
It wasn’t wrong to call him brother; after all, for many years, Cheng Zhiwei truly considered ng Qiancheng as a brother.
Cheng Zhiwei returned ng Qiancheng a smile. Since she couldn’t speak, a smile was all she could maintain.
Zhou Lin saw this and his expression darkened, thinking of her baring her claws at him in the car, yet now she was smiling sweetly at another man, and that made him quite uncomfortable.
He always felt like he was the one being targeted.
And what did ng Qiancheng call Cheng Zhiwei? Weiwei? Was there a need to be so intimate?
