Chapter 457: Feng Tianlan’s Confession
Si Mobai sensed her hesitation. He let out a long sigh as he grabbed her hands and pulled them around his waist. “Lan’er, be brave. Living in a world with a significant other will definitely be more exciting than living alone.”
She didn’t have enough courage, but he did. When she couldn’t open up her heart, he kept his heart open and was willing to wait for her forever.
Upon hearing Si Mobai’s words, Feng Tianlan’s heart shuddered. His hands were quite hot, like a warm current forcing its way into her heart, lting the icy coldness that had encrusted around her heart.
He had mustered up the courage to sign a natal contract with her.
He also had enough courage to die together with her. Why was she still avoiding him?
Their life and death were closely interrelated anyway. Since that was the case, why was she still avoiding him because of this matter?
Since there was no other option, they should just bravely face whatever awaited them in their future.
She wrapped her arms tightly around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder. She muttered in a deep voice, “Mobai.”
Just hearing her call out his na made Si Mobai’s heart shudder. He lowered his head and glanced down at her profile. He was afraid that it was all just an illusion, so he didn’t say a word. He just hugged her tighter. Even if it was just an illusion, it would be better for him to relish this mont.
“Mobai.” Feng Tianlan’s arms tightened around him. Then she raised her head and looked straight at him. Her palms were sweating as she gathered her courage. “I may not like you as much as you like right now, but I will try my best to catch up to you. I will eventually like you as much as you like . I will do my best to devote myself to you as much as you have devoted yourself to . I am willing to fight alongside you. I want you to be my soft spot and my shield.”
She wanted to catch up to not only his strength but his devotion as well.
After hearing these words, Si Mobai’s wary peach-blossom eyes slowly brightened up. He was still in disbelief. His breath was short, but his voice was hushed with hints of joy. “Lan’er.”
“I told you that I once liked soone, and that I wasn’t sure if I still liked him.” Feng Tianlan raised her head and looked at Si Mobai with her brilliant eyes. “However, right now I have beco sure. I don’t like him anymore.”
When she saw Jiang Ying, she had only felt hatred. Hatred for him to his very core. She had no other emotion for him. She thought to herself that maybe she really no longer had any affection for him anymore, or perhaps she had never liked him in the first place.
Jiang Ying had taken care of her since she was young. After her parents’ death, it was natural that she beca reliant on him. She thought that if she had really liked him, she would not have allowed him to be so close to Shen Yunya which led to her tragedy in the end.
When one liked another, not even a look at another person could be tolerated in their presence.
Si Mobai looked at her. He felt breathtaking awe that couldn’t be expressed with words. He just wanted to hug her and kiss her.
“Si Mobai, I can like you now.”
She was sure that she had no affection for Jiang Ying anymore.
She was sure that she did not choose him just because she wanted to nd her broken heart.
She was sure that she really did have feelings for him, and those feelings were love, not emotional dependency.
Her affection for him could now be free of qualms.
“Lan’er...”
Feng Tianlan lifted her hand and pressed it to his chest, preventing him from hugging her. “Affection must be a mutual feeling, therefore, if you don’t like anymore, you can just say it out honestly. Do not use it as an excuse to betray . I will not accept any excuse. If you betray , I will never forgive you, no matter how good you think your reason is.”
Although he had signed the natal contract, there was still ample ti ahead of them. One could have a change of heart; even he couldn’t guarantee this.
Without any hesitation nor sweet nothings, he promised her sincerely, “Alright.”
