“Ma… M-M-M-M-M… M-My cat Koui-san… That’s right, I was going to introduce Koui-san!”
Emma caved in under lsa’s pressure.
“ “Koui-san?” ”
Feeling like having heard of that na before, the twins pondered for a while, then raised their heads after knowing the answer.
“Ah! Isn’t that the na of Emma-sama‘s cat? Caitlyn?”
“Right! The calico cat that Emma-sama often uses as a motif in the Embroidery class, Catherine!”
Cufflinks, handkerchiefs, placemats… Emma stitched many cat patterns in class.
“They are the children we have at ho.” The twins rembered how Emma would always talk about her cats with a happy smile.
“T-That’s right, Catherine-sama. Caitlyn-sama, I have been talking about Koui-san, right? You see, when you are depressed, fluff is the key! After all! No healing in this world surpasses the healing of fluff!”
Emma was desperate to keep lsa’s mind as far away as possible from “marriage” and “grandchildren”. Otherwise, she would be plunged into a long round of lectures.
“I-I see? But… Emma, your friends will be shocked if you show Koui-san to them so suddenly, won’t they?”
lsa stopped Emma, thinking that the appearances of the Stuarts’ huge cats were too stimulating for delicate noble young ladies.
“It’s alright, Mother! We often talk about our cats at the academy.”
‘Alrighty, looking good. I have let her mind wander sowhere else splendidly.’ Emma gloated.
Then,
“Emma-sama, do you perhaps bring Koui-san along to this extracurricular lesson campsite?” The eyes of Marion, the fluff lover, sparkled.
“Kyaa! We want to try touching Koui-san, don’t we, Caitlyn?”
“Kyaa! We have been wanting to try petting Koui-san, Catherine!”
The eyes of the twins, who were always brimming with curiosity, also sparkled.
“Pardon, but is it alright to bring it to a campsite like this?”
The worrywart Francesca asked timidly because she knew that cats were very expensive. As cats in this world were very few, they were traded at a price at which one cat was worth a mansion.
“Umm… That’s true. Much as I’d like to touch it… the chance of your precious cat getting stolen will increase if it is seen by others. Emma-sama, you don’t have to force it. I’ll just appreciate your kind thoughts.”
With cats’ price, they couldn’t be easily compensated if sothing were to happen to them.
Marion also turned serious.
“It’s alright, Marion-sama. I have told you before in Embroidery class that Koui-san is bigger than normal cats, right? My child won’t be stolen so easily.”
“Fufufu,” Emma made a proud face.
Even if you searched all over the Kingdom, a thief that could steal Koui-san didn’t exist.
One cat punch was all it took.
“No, um, I think just it being slightly bigger won’t deter anything, you know?”
Although Marion reminded kindly that cats’ rarity didn’t vary with the cats’ individual sizes, Emma didn’t hear her clearly as she was feeling triumphant for having distracted lsa’s mind successfully and called Koui, who was taking an afternoon nap in the carriage, straight away.
“Koui-saaann! Co hereee! I’m going to introduce you to my friends!”
Marion and Francesca appeared hesitant as they worried about the chance of the cat being stolen, but Emma basically never read the room.
“ooow♡”
The cat answered from inside the carriage as if responding to Emma’s call.
“Ah, we have to open the door…”
*creak*
Francesca noticed that the carriage’s door was closed and thought the cat couldn’t get out on its own with the door closed. But right before she could stretch her hand to open the door, the Stuarts’ carriage creaked.
“?”
“?”
“ “?” ”
‘Is there sothing else besides the cat in the carriage?’ When Francesca was thinking so curiously, a huge creature that must have been responsible for the creaking of the carriage opened the carriage’s door with its forefoot skillfully and suddenly stuck its face out.
“ow!”
“!?”
“!?”
“ “!?” ”
The huge creature owed once before getting off the carriage and rubbing its huge body on Emma.
“ooow♡”
“Koui-san, I’ll introduce you to my friends at the academy, okay. This is Marion-sama, Francesca-sama, Catherine-sama and Caitlyn-sama.”
Emma introduced the young ladies while letting Koui rub its cheeks on her body.
“ “ “ “………Eh?” ” ” ”
“Ooow!”
“Koui-san said, ‘I have heard a lot about everyone from the siblings. Thank you for always getting along with Emma.'”
“ “ “ “………Eh?” ” ” ”
Matching the ti Emma translated and uttered, “Thank you,” the huge creature bowed its head softly… or at least it seed like doing so.
“ “ “ “………Eh? …Eh?” ” ” ”
