Alice stayed in the hospital for two days before getting discharged. Aside from the minor incident where she and Luna knocked out a bunch of people, nothing else special happened throughout her hospital stay.
Honestly, the fact that she had t the real Hero, t the real Demon King, and driven Demon King's Power out of the Demon King's body within a span of ten days was already plenty incredible. If anything similar happened during her stay in the hospital, she would have to start wondering if sothing was making her body attractive to the Hero and Demon King.
Today was the March Royal School of Magic's official admission day. So, Alice got up early and let Luna help her get dressed.
Alice had to admit that Luna's work efficiency as a maid was excellent. The forr Demon King had seamlessly integrated herself into the identity of a maid. Everything a maid could do, Luna could do. Luna also played a vital role in keeping Alice's hospital ward as clean as when she was admitted into it.
"Do you want to try a new hairstyle, Alice?" Luna asked while combing Alice's long blonde hair.
The anities provided in the high-class ward were naturally much more luxurious than that of ordinary wards. There was even a dressing table prepared in the room.
"Change hairstyles?"
Alice froze for a mont when she heard Luna's proposal. Then, she suddenly rembered her previous dilemma of not being able to find her panties when fighting with Luna. Specifically, she thought back to the idea she ca up with at the ti.
Thinking up to this point, Alice jumped down from the chair, ran to the bed, and pulled out a small cloth pouch from under the pillow. Then, she ran back to the dresser chair, sat down, and handed the pouch to Luna:
"See if you can use this to tie my hair into twintails."
"What's this? A hair tie?"
Luna's expression was calm, but her tone had a touch of confusion in it as she took the pouch from Alice and opened itrevealing the five panties neatly folded inside the pouch.
These were all panties Alice had snatched from the Loli Goddess's drawer when she visited the Loli Goddess the other day. Moreover, after secretly testing the panties, she found that these were all worn panties. In other words, they could be used as weapons. Hence, she had carefully stored them away under her pillow.
So long as a pair of panties had been worn for a certain amount of ti, it wouldn't matter even if it had been washed. Alice's right hand would still deem it a weapon of mass destruction rather than just a piece of cloth. It was also precisely because these panties were clean that Alice had dared to make such a suggestion.
Luna fell silent when she looked at the pouch of panties in her hands. She could understand why Alice wanted to use panties as hair ties. After all, she had watched Alice transforming panties into taboos to launch at the Demon King's Power that night.
However, Luna never expected Alice to dare carry out such a bold move.
These were panties they were talking about. While they might look like ordinary hair ties so long as she tied them properly, there was still the risk of them unraveling in a public space. If others were to find out that Alice was using panties as hair ties, it would spell instant social death for her.
"What's wrong? Can't do it?" Alice turned around and asked after hearing no response from Luna. "If it's no good, just forget about it, then."
"No problem!" Luna imdiately replied in affirmation when she heard Alice's words. At the sa ti, she couldn't help but inwardly sigh. It couldn't be helped. She was Alice's maid. Since Alice had already made such a request, she naturally had to follow it.
Luna's wish since young was to stand by the Hero's side. After discovering that Alice was the Hero, her resistance toward Alice had vanished almost completely. Now, she would do almost anything Alice asked of her. After all, the Hero was her only spiritual pillar in life right now.
The five pairs of panties in the pouch were of varying colors. After thinking for a mont, Luna chose a pair of yellow-striped panties and a pair of pure white panties. The color of these two panties matched Alice's hair, so their true identity wouldn't be easily discovered.
Next, Luna carefully helped Alice tie her hair into twintails using these two panties. She also tried to make them as inconspicuous as possible.
"It looks good."
Alice shook her head in satisfaction when she looked at her figure in the dressing mirror, her two long ponytails swaying from side to side. This new hairstyle had further enhanced her cuteness. Though, the downside was that she looked even younger. Now, it was even less likely that anyone would find her to be a deterrence. However, she did not need to use her identity as the Hero right now, so it didn't really matter even if her appearance didn't deter people. The most important thing now was to make herself look as harmless as possible. Only after she had learned the taboo spells in the magic academy's library should she start considering other things.
"But then again, why is there so much information on taboo spells stored in the academy's library?" Alice curiously asked while she sorted out her luggage by the bed. "Those are taboos, after all. Even if normal people can't understand them, it still doesn't make sense to put such sensitive information in a public place."
"Taboos are just a ans of research. Even if one cannot cast them, the many principles used in the formation of a taboo spell can still provide one a lot of help in the study of magic," Luna said. She had learned about many things during her ti in the kingdom's intelligence departnt, so she had no trouble answering Alice's questions.
"Take the relatively well-known Inferno, for example. It is a fire-attributed taboo invented by several researchers roughly two centuries ago. Although the average magician is incapable of casting this taboo, the principle behind this spell has provided theoretical support for the invention of many magic creations."
Upon hearing the example Luna gave, realization quickly dawned upon Alice.
"The stove we normally use is actually an extrely simplified and miniaturized Inferno. There are also the power plants that the various countries and races use nowadays. These power plants are essentially a chanical simulation of a mini Inferno."
"The way you put it makes a little interested in this taboo. Does March's library have records on Inferno?" Alice asked. However, before Luna could answer, Alice continued, "In other words, these taboos are placed in the library mainly to let others reference the theoretical knowledge inside, right?"
"Yes. The significance of these taboos is more for reference than actual use. Even with the help of machines, normal people would have a hard ti casting most taboos. It is simply impossible to cast a complete taboo with the mana and skills of a single individual. Even if one attempts to cast a taboo without the help of machines, it would require plenty of preparation and the joint effort of many magicians," Luna said, nodding.
"Of course, so gifted people can also rely on their innate talent and understanding to learn or develop taboos that they could use. Even so, every cast of a taboo would place a huge burden on their bodies. Take the demon realm's Four Heavenly Kings and the warrior nad Catherine, for example. I believe that they can cast taboos by themselves, but they will most likely collapse from exhaustion after doing so."
"Yet, the Demon King and Hero are capable of casting taboos effortlessly. It's no wonder why nobody can ever intervene in a fight between the Hero and Demon King."
After packing her school bag and suitcase, Alice nodded and turned around. "Very good. I am starting to understand everything now. Let's go, Luna."
