Chapter 23: The Penny Pincher And The Krypton Gold Player

Translator: Larbre Studio Editor: Larbre Studio

The Ghost Expelling Talisman, the Spirit Stabilizer Talisman, and the Spiritual Fire Talisman might only be basic talismans, but they were highly efficient in handling the spirits.

However, Kazuki was only in his Foundation Stage. Before his reiki transford, it would be futile for him to fight against the demon that had achieved the tamorphosis State. He used one Spirit Stabilizer Talisman just now, and he barely withstood the attack of the Multi-ard Demon for a second. And that was enough for Kazuki to jump in joy.

That suggested that the Multi-ard Demon had yet to achieve tamorphosis State and was still stuck at the Foundation Stage. Therefore, the Spirit Stabilizer Talisman was adequate in warding it off.

As he was dwelling in his thoughts, a big hand swept over and grabbed the entire walkway without leaving any gap for him to escape. The walls of the walkway began to shatter under pressure as they yielded to the strength of the large hand. Due to the lack of maintenance in previous years, nacing thuds echoed across the whole walkway of the second floor.

Kazuki, without delay, sprinted toward a random class of the sophomore year. He passed by a whoosh of wind as he dove into the classroom.

The next second, before he could think of what to do next, a weird and pale ghost face charged at him fiercely as its pitch-black eyes glared right at him.

He focused his gaze, lifted his sword intuitively, and sliced the ghost face into half.

The ghost face released a shrill howl out of anguish and instantly vanished into thin air.

There was not a bit of resistance from the condensation... Kazuki thought to himself. At that mont, he was sure that this Multi-ard Demon had not achieved into the tamorphosis State.

Otherwise, the ghost face would have completely solidified. Although the Sun and Moon Sword could break it into half, it would also consu so of his reiki.

Unlike now, the Sun and Moon Sword was able to shatter it rely by its own sharpness.

Kazuki cogitated, thinking of a way to escape and retreat.

If the fight prolonged, it was not possible for him to defeat the Multi-ard Demon. When he lifted his sword to attack the ghost face, an innurable amount of hands inundated the classroom...

The Spirit Stabilizer!

One of the sparkling yellow talismans charged forward, barely defending itself against the army of giant hands.

This ti Kazuki did not counter the attack. Instead, he lifted his sword and ran the blade across the blackboard before him. In one swift kick, he knocked down the fragile wall and created a hole to which he crawled into.

With just a glimpse, he knew that this familiar setting was the Class One of the sophomore years.

He took a look at his back, and his heart skipped a beat. There were tens of hideous pale white faces behind him, fiercely storming at him.

Despite not knowing the power of the ghost face, Kazuki staunchly refused to let it co near to him.

He took out a Spiritual Fire Talisman, infused his reiki and hurled it toward the ghost face.

Before it ca in contact with the ghost face, the Spiritual Fire Talisman blew up, turning into a ball of white flare mid-air. The white flare shared the sa color as the ghost face.

The flare was palm-sized, but it quickly and silently enveloped the ghost face. In a blink of an eye, the ghost face was entirely engulfed! When the other ghost faces that were soaring in the air touched the Spiritual Fire, it wailed and vanished within seconds.

Every ti a ghost face was swallowed, the size of the Spiritual Fire reduced a little.

As the other ghost faces witnessed the scene, they dodged the attack of the Spiritual Fire.

The Multi-ard Demon behind him howled furiously. For the demon, Kazuki was just a weak little worm, yet this annoying worm had successfully wiggled out of the demon’s grip, causing the Multi-ard Demon to be enraged.

However, this was the difference between a Krypton Gold player and a penny pincher.

The Multi-ard Demon resembled a penny pincher who had joined the ga since the beta version and had already achieved a high level. Kazuki, on the other hand, had only joined the ga one month ago. His level was way lower. However, as he was a Krypton Gold player, he was equipped with a wide variety of tools.

The level was nothing but a statistic. It was indeed important, but the tools played a more crucial role!

Moreover, the Multi-ard Demon had yet to transform and level up. For now, it could not do much harm to Kazuki.

But... even if Kazuki had the talismans, the number dwindled as he used it.

He did not know how the Multi-ard Demon was able to let out an angry roar without a head, but Kazuki did not have ti to ponder on the question. Followed by the furious howl, the ghost faces charged toward him as though it was a suicide attack.

However, he had seized the brief opportunity to retreat when the ghost faces were hesitating out of fear.

Kazuki walked toward the blackboard and repeated what he did before. He kicked and perforated the wall. From the hole he created, he peeked into the pitch-dark night before he noticed the two shadows on the ground.

When Aokiji and Shiori gained their consciousness, the first thing they did was apparently leaving the place.

They knew that they would only be a burden to Kazuki if they stayed. The best they could do for Kazuki was to escape when they were not capable of doing anything else.

Realizing that, Kazuki took a leap from the second floor without any hesitation.

He did not know if the Multi-ard Demon would follow him out of the Akichi High School. He could only pray that the spirit in front of him was a Land Bounded Spirit, one that could only stay within the Akichi High School.

Based on his prediction, the Multi-ard Demon was most probably a Land Bounded Spirit. Before it achieved the tamorphosis, it could only wander within Akichi High School. Otherwise, the villages around the high school would have been demolished by the Multi-ard Demon.

In the middle of the air.

As he was falling to the ground, Kazuki’s was facing skyward and his back groundward. By this ti, he already had a Spiritual Fire Talisman ready in his hand.

After the ghost face ca through the hole, the uncountable number of arms, too, squeezed through the considerably small hole, further breaking the wall. The terrifying arms carried a burnt and strange scent. Without being restrained by the small space, the arms, resembling shots of arrows, flew toward Kazuki who was still floating in mid-air.

As long as they touched Kazuki, the arms would definitely puncture his body. He would turn into a broken dead body before he reached the ground.

He covered his mouth with the Spiritual Fire Talisman in his hand. Following that, Kazuki forcefully bit the tip of his tongue. Imdiately, the scent of blood and the excruciating pain perated his entire body.

Kazuki puffed his cheeks as he assembled all of the reiki in his body in his mouth. The next mont, a stream of reiki, that was coated by the True Yang Saliva, gushed forward. anwhile, the Spiritual Fire Talisman in his hand was activated.

In a fraction of a second, the Spiritual Fire was enhanced by a large amount of reiki then was inflated as the wind blew. The initially palm-sized Spiritual Fire had grown into the size of a fire dragon.

But the Spiritual Fire was eerily blood red.

The talisman enhancent was invented by a Nascent Soul Cultivator at the Spiritual Academy in the past life. Before the reiki recovered, this cultivator was said to be a scholar of the Chinese Academy of Science.

When the technique of enhancent was used by a person with higher ability, the outco would be more significant. The an to activate such a thod was all the reiki in the body together with the blood at the tip of the tongue, also called the True Yang Saliva.

After applying this technique, one’s body would be weak for three days. The usage of the reiki would also be affected.

This could be considered as the final and utmost attack.

At the mont, the Spiritual Fire, that appeared like a fire dragon, aid at the army of arms and ghost faces. When they collided, a loud and anguished howl resonated across the Akichi High School.

The cry was filled with extre agony, rage, and undying hatred!

Even though the howl was not able to cause any damage, but it was extrely shrill, to the extent that it could hurt one’s ears.

When Aokiji and Shiori heard the ear-splitting shriek, they looked to the origin of the sound. Their views about life were utterly shattered by the scene.

Silently, the blood-red Spiritual Fire swallowed the many arms. It wriggled slowly, corroding the hideous arms. In the anti, the ghost face had been burnt to ashes by the Spiritual Fire.

As the blood-red Spiritual Fire scuffled with the troop of arms, both of them noticed Kazuki who was falling from the second floor.

Shiori hurriedly ran toward Kazuki, who painfully landed on the ground. Aokiji followed closely behind, albeit slower, he did not run away on his own.

At this mont, Kazuki spat out a mouthful of blood and sat up with all his might. He looked at Shiori and Aokiji who were approaching him. His face was ashen. He seed to be lethargic, even standing up was difficult for him.

“Are you alright?” Shiori asked, concerned. She ca forward to support Kazuki.

“We have to leave now, we will be safe once we reach the school gate,” Kazuki rasped. He could not be bothered to maintain the decency toward an opposite gender at this mont. He took support from Shiori’s thin shoulders and tried his best to stand up.

Suddenly his expression changed. Without a word, he rcilessly pushed Shiori away.

Pain shot through her body when Shiori fell on the ground. She looked at him, puzzled. At that mont, a pale ghost face entered Kazuki’s body as Aokiji, who was rushing over, and Shiori watched dumbly.

The next second, Kazuki’s body fell back onto the ground limply. His entire body was stiff.
