Jiang Nuo showed no reaction.
Mu Mingyu furrowed his eyebrows slightly. Was it his imagination, or had his granduncle and grandaunt been in a daze for too long?
"Are you going to deceive yourself like this?" the man laughed, "He was caught red-handed, with conclusive evidence. I know you want to side with your granduncle and grandaunt, but you can’t deceive yourself like this, can you? If you have anything to say, just confess, because if those old n decide anything, you won’t have another chance to pass on any information."
Mu Mingyu stared at him steadily: "Why do you insist on believing that my granduncle is the culprit behind Mu Hou’s murder?"
"The person caught at the scene, who else could it be?" the man mocked.
"Oh, so if one day you find yourself at a cri scene, ready to call the police, but are suddenly surrounded and caught, then you’ll be declared the murderer without question, right?"
"That’s just quibbling."
"Whether it’s quibbling or not, none of us will know until the final result cos out."
"What’s the point of telling this? You should be telling that group outside." Seeing that he couldn’t win against Mu Mingyu, the man beca sowhat irritated.
"I never intended to talk to you; you’ve been insisting on this conversation."
"You..."
Just as he was about to stand up and get angry, soone knocked on the door.
He could only glare at Mu Mingyu and walk to the door, asking, "Who is it?"
"It’s ."
The man opened the door and frowned slightly at the white-bearded man outside: "Why are you here?"
"The Alliance Hierarch asked to patrol around."
"Alright then, co in."
Mu Mingyu watched the two n without speaking.
"Oh, this is the steward of the grand elder from the Hidden Immortal Sect," the man introduced, "The elder’s cultivation has been sealed, so this guy is here to keep an eye on us to prevent any tricks."
"Hmm." The white-bearded man nodded.
"Since he ca in, he’s just been sitting there silently," the man continued to explain.
The white-bearded man took two steps forward and, through the railing, gazed at Jiang Nuo inside, seemingly hesitating: "Why does this seem a bit odd?"
Mu Mingyu couldn’t help but stand up and walk to his side: "What’s wrong?"
"He hasn’t said a word since coming in?" the white-bearded man asked.
"Yes, ever since he ca in, he hasn’t spoken or moved. Why, is sothing amiss?" Mu Mingyu replied.
The white-bearded man frowned and said: "Last ti, there was another man brought in like this, sitting silently. The next day, when we tried to bring him out, he was dead."
"What?!" Mu Mingyu was shocked and hurriedly shouted inside, "Granduncle, are you alright? Can you hear ? It’s Mingyu, respond to ..."
However, no matter how he shouted, there was no response from inside.
"Granduncle!"
"Jiang Nuo!"
"Can you hear ? If you can hear, please respond."
...
After shouting for quite a while, there was still no response from inside.
This ti, Mu Mingyu panicked, and the other two also panicked.
"What are you standing around for, open the door," the white-bearded man urged.
The man seed a bit dazed, perhaps too frightened, as it took him a long ti to fish out the keys. After finally getting the door open, the three rushed inside.
