The lamp Mu Qiuniang ntioned is actually a "life lamp," only lit by those at the manager level and above, or so direct disciples, and is enshrined with the Ascended elders of the Hidden Immortal Sect in the Tribute Hall, enjoying the incense offerings.

As long as the disciple is not in mortal danger, the "life lamp" remains lit; if they die, the "life lamp" extinguishes.

Additionally, if a loving master wants to, even without the qualification to light a "life lamp" for their disciple, they can either make or have soone make a "life plate," which serves a similar purpose. The difference being that the "life lamp" can record the scene at the disciple’s mont of death and mark the person for revenge purposes, whereas the "life plate" can only mark, not display the scene.

Since Mu Qiuniang is an elder of the Hidden Immortal Sect, she naturally has the full authority to light a "life lamp" for her direct disciples.

"The Grandmaster accepted a disciple?!" Gong Xihe and others were very surprised. How could such a lazy person as the Grandmaster actually take on a disciple?

I wonder what kind of person the Grandmaster’s disciple is?

The Grandmaster’s standards must be higher than ours.

A group of Hidden Immortal Sect disciples, brimming with mysterious confidence, each asked Mu Qiuniang to bring her direct disciple back soti to let everyone see, and also to let the new disciple get acquainted with the sect.

"No rush, when the ti is right, I will bring him back." There’s no point rushing when he hasn’t even entered the sect yet.

"Grandmaster, later we could prepare so gifts for him, and you could take them back with you tomorrow?"

"Okay."

Mu Qiuniang then dealt with so internal matters of the Hidden Immortal Sect, had dinner with everyone, gave guidance on issues they encountered in cultivation, and only returned to her cave mansion to rest when it was late.

Her cave mansion wasn’t located in the central area of the Hidden Immortal Sect but rather towards the restricted area of the back mountain. This was likely due to her master’s habit of preferring quieter places. Her senior brothers and sisters weren’t the obedient type, so being away from the sect disciples could reduce their chances of causing trouble.

Though she hadn’t returned for more than ten years, the cave mansion was always maintained by the "Clean Technique," so there wasn’t a problem with spider webs covering the place, and it appeared no different from when she left those years ago.

If there had to be a difference, it was that the lotus pool outside her cave mansion had lotus flowers growing much more lushly than before. The two bright red carps inside leaped out of the water happily to greet her upon her return: "Qiuniang, Qiuniang, you’ve co back?"

"Long ti no see, Qiuniang. Is the outside world fun?"

"Long ti no see!" Seeing them, Mu Qiuniang felt a sense of closeness. These carps were specially caught by one of her senior sisters to cheer her up.

Given that the lotus pool was set with an array, and the lotus seeds in it were extraordinary items, the flowers were lush even in a season where lotus should not be in bloom. The large red blooms looked as vivid as rouge, truly dazzling.

"It’s been a while, Qiuniang is even more feminine!" The lotus laughed, "Do you have a man?"

The red carp laughed: "What’s strange about Qiuniang having a man? She’s several hundred years old, it’s about ti... But, just don’t get deceived by a man. I heard from Xiaoqing that the people outside are very bad, you have to be careful."

"Who is Xiaoqing?" Mu Qiuniang was puzzled. Ideally, no one should enter her place without her permission. Yet soone had been chatting with them while she was away for these years?

"It’s the red dragonfly who ca for you with your token. Don’t you rember? You even gave it a nice na, Mu Wanqing, the sa surna as yours." Another red carp swished its tail.

Mu Qiuniang suddenly understood. Oh well, after accepting the red dragonfly, she essentially forgot about it. Especially when she just returned, the Sect Leader didn’t ntion it at all; how could she rember?

Gong Xihe felt wronged: It’s not that I didn’t want to ntion it, Grandmaster, but there were too many things. I just forgot after all the twists and turns. Later, I thought you’d see it when you got back, so not ntioning it wouldn’t be an issue, so...

"Where is Xiaoqing?" Mu Qiuniang looked around but didn’t see it.

The lotus said: "It ate my lotus dew last night and got too full, now it’s sleeping..."

One of the flower buds shivered, and when it opened, there lay a small, adorable little red dragonfly. Judging by its look, it seed to be drooling.

Mu Qiuniang found it sowhat funny and annoying. This little one, how did she not realize it was a foodie after all this ti?

"Thank you for taking care of it!"

"No worries, we’re idle with nothing to do all day anyway, having a companion is nice too." The lotus nonchalantly shook its head and said, "How long will you stay this ti?"

"Leaving tomorrow."

"That soon? I thought you could stay longer. I’m about to transform and wanted to go out with you..."

Mu Qiuniang shook her head: "Don’t. It’s better to cultivate here. The spiritual energy outside isn’t as good as here. Besides, people outside are very hostile to monsters. I fear that if I’m not careful, soone might take you, and that would be trouble."

"Am I that weak?" The lotus looked aggrieved.

"Do you intend to unleash destruction everywhere?" Mu Qiuniang raised an eyebrow.

"I wouldn’t dare." The lotus quickly shook its head, "I definitely don’t want to be defeated by you. You’re such a ruthless assassin, ignoring past bonds. I don’t want to be your defeated opponent..."

The red carp giggled mischievously: "I told you so, Qiuniang would never agree to you going out, you’d better stay and cultivate with us honestly."

"Exactly, exactly, we’ll be companions, and can play together, how delightful!"

...

The lotus glanced at the two silly fishes: "Lonely as snow, these guys simply don’t understand!"

Mu Qiuniang chatted with them for a while, fed them so Beast Nourishing Pills, advising them to cultivate well, then entered the cave mansion.

The next morning, as soon as the day broke, Mu Qiuniang received the "gifts" for her direct disciple from Gong Xihe and the various elders: elixirs, talisman paper, cultivation insights, everything imaginable. They gave her basically anything they thought might be useful to her.

They even encouraged her to take on more disciples when she had ti. If she found the introductory process into cultivation troubleso, they could temporarily take care of them until she was ready to take over.

Mu Qiuniang found this amusing. How could she not understand their intentions?

They were simply banking on her ability to train disciples who wouldn’t turn out badly, thus benefiting the sect, with each of them aiming to make use of her "skills."

She said: "This matter of fate is hard to explain. We cultivators emphasize the word ’fate’ and cannot force it."

"The Grandmaster’s teachings are indeed correct." Each of them was extrely respectful.

Before leaving, Mu Qiuniang checked various defensive arrays at the mountain gate to ensure nothing happened while she was away. These arrays could hold up for a while until she returned.

Gong Xihe and the elders were reluctant as they bid her farewell: "Grandmaster, please visit us often!" Perhaps, the next ti she returned, they wouldn’t be there to see her. Although they were cultivators, their talents couldn’t truly compare to Mu Qiuniang’s, and her lifespan might be much longer, while theirs was uncertain.

Perhaps, to them, the youthful Mu Qiuniang was a "hope"—a hope that they could expect ascension and share the sa longevity with the heavens and the earth. Although they didn’t know where they would end up, seeing soone with a clear chance of ascension ant perhaps they, too, had hope?
