"Okay." Mu Qiuniang generously pulled another one out of her bag and handed it to the other person.
Qin Qin expressed her gratitude profusely.
Jiang Nuo, still utterly confused after eavesdropping for half the day, announced: "My wife has a little secret, and the baby is very unhappy."
After parting ways with Song Weiming and his wife, Jiang Nuo entered the room and imdiately pinned his wife against the wall, saying, "Wife, don’t you think you owe a proper explanation?"
"Explanation for what?"
"Do you have another secret you’re hiding from ?"
"Well, since it’s a secret, how can I tell you?"
Jiang Nuo’s face was full of resentnt: "Wife, you don’t love anymore..."
"Take a shower early and go to bed early. You still have filming tomorrow." Mu Qiuniang, with a single forceful push, sent the wall-leaning Mr. Cool swaggering back.
Watching Mu Qiuniang’s retreating figure, Jiang Nuo felt deeply aggrieved: "Wife, you’re too much! I deserve to have my own little secrets too."
Jiang Nuo didn’t dare to make too big a fuss; he was afraid she’d get angry.
anwhile, Mu Qiuniang hadn’t yet decided whether or not to reveal the matter. After all, the mont she said it, their relationship might change forever.
Jiang Nuo didn’t pressure her again. That night, however, he flipped her over and over like a fish on a grill until the sun rose, before finally letting her rest.
Mu Qiuniang wasn’t greatly affected. Her spiritual power circulated through her ridians for a cycle, and her body was fine. It was just her energy that took a hit—she felt like she hadn’t slept enough and was entirely sluggish.
Jiang Nuo, on the other hand, was in misery and looked like he’d been excessively indulgent.
The next day, when Lu Mingchen saw him, he practically felt the urge to smack him. "Bro, do you even know what you’re doing right now?"
Mu Nan, upon seeing him, was equally shocked: "Jiang Nuo, even if you want to show off your lovey-dovey marriage, you don’t have to go at it this hard! Bring back my stoic Fa Hai look imdiately."
Jiang Nuo simply shot him a cold glare.
Mu Nan sneaked a glance at Jiang Nuo’s wife, who was lounging in a chair soaking up the sun. Quietly, he asked, "Did you have a fight with your wife? Want to share with you so secret tips? Though I’m not married, I definitely know more about how to woo won than you do."
Jiang Nuo sneered: "With your womanizing tendencies?"
"How am I womanizing? I take every relationship with my girlfriends seriously and genuinely invest myself."
"Oh yeah? One girlfriend a week, faster than anyone could change clothes."
Mu Nan: "..."
That’s not womanizing; that’s just enjoying life, okay? You, the devoted wife-pleaser, would never understand.
Jiang Nuo never expected that a simple trip to the bathroom would end with him being shoved into a burlap sack.
Whimpering... who the hell did this? Whoever it was better stay unknown—otherwise... otherwise, he had no idea what he’d do, besides calling the police.
When he regained consciousness, he realized he was stuffed in the trunk of a car.
He deduced this because he was in a very cramped space, the vehicle was clearly moving, and there was a faint sll of gasoline.
Given the items around, it wasn’t hard to conclude.
A kidnapper?
Were they after money, a person, or his life?
If it was money, that’d be easy enough—he was an international superstar earning significant sums from TV shows, movies, and appearances. Just let his wife handle it; all his cards were in her possession.
If they were after a person, things would get tricky. As a top-tier global celebrity, who knew if it was so crazed fan behind the abduction?
All he could hope for was that the police would find him before said crazed fan did sothing abhorrent.
Lastly, if it was his life at stake, then that would be the absolute worst-case scenario. Who knew if he’d ever offended soone, stood in soone’s way, and now that person wanted him out of the picture?
He wasn’t ready to die; he was still young and looking forward to countless sweet days and nights with his wife and future children. He wasn’t ready to let go.
While Jiang Nuo was spiraling into nonsensical thoughts, the car stopped, and he was roughly dragged out of the trunk.
Not wanting to act impulsively before understanding the situation, he obediently complied and didn’t resist.
He signaled to the people: could they remove the tape from his mouth? He wouldn’t yell.
Unfortunately, these people were just underlings without the authority to make decisions. They ignored him.
From the underground parking garage, they led him directly to the second floor. The only thing Jiang Nuo knew was that he was in a building of relatively few floors, but he couldn’t discern its location or address.
Still wearing his monk costu, he was tossed into a well-lit hall.
The hall’s floor was smooth and shiny, reflecting like a mirror. He was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud, hurting his arm a little.
Unfortunately, his mouth was still taped shut, so he couldn’t cry out—not that he would. This was a matter of male pride!
Before he could get up, he heard the sound of polished leather shoes stepping on the floor.
A pair of brightly shined leather shoes ca into view.
Raising his head, he saw pinstriped suit pants, a matching belt, a sa-tone suit jacket, and a man with a vicious gaze.
Jiang Nuo thought this man looked familiar, but for the life of him, he couldn’t recall where he’d seen him.
"Mmph-mmph!" He tried to say, "Who are you?"
The sinister-looking man grabbed his jaw: "So, you’re the big-ti star Jiang Nuo?"
"Mmph-mmph!!" Yes, I am. Who are you? Let go!
"Oh~ I forgot your mouth is taped shut; you can’t speak." With that, the man abruptly ripped the tape off Jiang Nuo’s face.
"Hiss..." Jiang Nuo hissed in pain.
Though he was an orphan, honestly, aside from hardships during childhood, ever since eting Mu Qiuniang, he hadn’t endured much suffering.
Especially after marrying Mu Qiuniang, his life had been ticulously cared for.
"Who are you?"
"Ha! Look at that questioning tone..." The man sneered coldly, "You’re a big shot celebrity, a busy man, of course, you don’t know . Who am I? I’m that guy whose company went bankrupt because of you, and you have the audacity to ask who I am?"
As he cursed vehently, he delivered a furious kick to Jiang Nuo.
"Is there so misunderstanding? How could I possibly cause your company’s bankruptcy?" Jiang Nuo swore he’d never targeted anyone’s company directly.
Goddamn it!! That kick really hurt—it practically killed him.
"Misunderstanding? I wish it were a misunderstanding! But what about my hard-hit company?" Fury ignited inside the man as veins pulsed angrily, "You, the big international star, don’t even have to lift a finger; soone else will happily deal with things for you..."
He gnashed his teeth, practically ready to bite Jiang Nuo to death. But what good would that do?
His company still wouldn’t co back.
"Bring up that hacker kid," he ordered.
A boy, beaten until his body was bloodied all over, was dragged into the room and left a trail of blood across the floor. He looked like a lifeless corpse as he was tossed onto the ground.
If it weren’t for the faint moans coming from him, Jiang Nuo might have believed he was already dead.
"See that? This is what happens when you interfere and don’t listen." The man’s tone was dark and nacing.
