Lycus Fenrath.

He was a mber of a tribe that worships the Wolf God, Kaelvar.

Their tribe mbers have unique abilities similar to that of a wolf...

They could grow their nails like claws at will, their skin is very tough, they're very agile, they have heightened senses, and many more!

They all believed it was a blessing from the Wolf God.

And because of this...

They all fight like wild animals!

*****

"GRAAAHHH, YOU FUCKING GOBLINS!"

Lycus exclaid as he tore through the bodies of the goblins in front of him using his claws.

-Graaaah!

He sensed an attack coming from his behind.

And as a response...

"HAAAH!!!"

He kicked back with his right leg using all of his might!

Bam!

-Geuk!

It hit a goblin trying to ambush him and it died on impact!

Though...

Thuck!

An arrow suddenly appeared from his blind spot and hit his left torso!

"Gugk..."

Lycus groaned.

"FUCK!!!"

SLASH-!

But he just heavily swung his open left hand horizontally in anger and killed the four goblins in front of him in one go!

His thick skin saved him and stopped the arrow from going in deep. And except from the tingling pain oh his left side, he's still as good as before!

So with that...

"GRAAAAH!!!"

BAM!

He continued on fighting!

...

...

*****

(Lycus' POV)

Puck!

"Ugh!"

Another arrow found its way to and struck my left arm.

This made it the tenth ti now that I've been hit.

"Shit!"

I imdiately pulled the arrow out with my right hand and threw it away.

Then looking back in front of ...

-Kieeeeee!!!

-Graaaah!!!

I saw the army of goblins throwing mocking laughs at .

I've killed more than forty goblins now, but there are still a lot of them.

And they're slowly surrounding ...

They look so arrogant, it's annoying.

I know why they are like this...

"Huff... Haaaa...."

It's because of my current state.

I've been fighting continuously for about five minutes now, I'm already having trouble catching my breath.

I already spent a fair amount of stamina after having to rush here earlier too.

And with alone fighting against this many, there's no mont to rest.

I need to always be aware of my surroundings, after all.

Even though they're weak... I'm having a lot of trouble right now.

I can't also dodge every attack they throw at as they co from all sides, that's why I sustained so injuries.

'Nothing life-threatening, at least.'

Anyway, because of that...

My body is becoming heavier as ti passes by.

'I wonder if Sofia already got to safety.'

I really wish she already t a professor and is in a safe place.

Anyway, seeing that I'm slowly catching my breath...

-GRAAAAAH!!!

Three goblins rushed at while swinging their weapons.

"Fuck..."

I cursed.

This shitheads are slowly tiring out.

'One from each side and one from the back.'

Anyway, after confirming their locations, I twisted my torso to the left...

"Gurgh..."

And while gritting my teeth...

SWOOSH—!

I slashed horizontally using my left claws and rotated my body to the right!

SLASH—

My attack killed the two goblins coming from the side!

And imdiately after doing that...

Slash!

I turned around and killed the one behind as well with my right claws.

'I'm tired...'

I thought as I slowly straightened my posture.

But as I was doing so...

-GRAAAHHHH!!!

A goblin carrying a dagger leaped toward from my blind spot!

"Wha...?!"

I didn't notice them before because I was focused on the three goblins!

'Shit!'

I exclaid in my head, realizing that I can't dodge on ti.

I forcefully twisted my head to the right to at least avoid a fatal injury.

Though...

'It'll still cost an eye, huh.'

If only I was prepared and wasn't exhausted, I could've taken care all of these monsters...

Seeing the tip of the goblin's dagger get near my left eye and not being able to do anything... I felt bitter.

I steeled myself to receive the attack and imdiately launch a counter attack after.

I even have my hands covered in mana now.

But just then, before the dagger could get in contact with ...

"[Bang]"

I heard a voice behind .

And the next thing I knew...

Thud-

The goblin that was about to stab my eye was on the ground, dead.

"Huh?"

It has a hole between its brows.

I was confused.

-Kieek?!

-Kieeee!!?

Even the goblins around are the sa.

And before I could even process the situation...

"[Bang] [Bang] [Bang]—"

I heard the voice again.

Thud-

Thud—

And every ti I do, a goblin just collapse on the ground, dead!

-GRAAAHHHH!!!

The goblins then started rushing at again, thinking that I was doing all of this.

They're looking at with a new vigilance.

But before they could even get close to .

"[Bang]"

They would just suddenly drop dead on the ground!

"What the hell is happening...?"

I whispered under my breath.

Then looking behind where I heard the voice in curiosity...

"You...?"

I saw soone I least expected to see.

"It's good to see you too."

It was Raye Alvah.

He responded to sarcastically.

*****

(Raye's POV)

'Oof, I wasn't planning to show myself.'

I thought as I looked at Lycus.

Shock was apparent on his face, clearly not expecting to be here.

'I don't know why I'm here too, to be honest.'

Thinking back a little while, Sofia left to gather a bit more of ingredients.

I know that she's the childhood friend of Lycus, a main character in the ga.

So I just let her do her thing, avoiding being fully involved with her.

But after a few minutes of being away...

I saw her running back in a hurry, she was on the verge of crying as well!

Concerned, I stopped her and asked what was wrong.

And that's when she told everything while sobbing...

'Then, she begged to help Lycus after.'

I just told her that I will, and left her the task to inform Professor Jacqueline of the situation.

anwhile, I went here to check on Lycus...

I've been here for about a while now, actually.

Just watching the situation unfold, letting Lycus do all the work.

And I'm planning to do that till the end...

'If only he didn't put his guard down.'

I thought, frowning at Lycus.

'This bastard almost lost his left eye!'

If that does happen, it would have a big effect on Lycus' firepower, and so in the story...

That's why I decided to get involved.

Anyway, moving on...

"Why are you here?"

Lycus jumped and softly landed beside .

-Grahhh...

-Grrrr...

Seeing the goblins wary, I concluded that they wouldn't launch an attack imdiately.

So, slightly glancing at Lycus...

"I'm here as a reinforcent."

I answered his question.

"Wha—"

"Just shut up and fight, I'll cover you from the back."

He was about to say sothing, but I intervened.

I don't want to get interrogated, especially in this situation.

"..."

Lycus seed to understand my thoughts.

He nodded his head and looked back at the army of goblins.

And with an annoyed expression on his face...

"I'll count on you, then."

Bam-

He kicked off onto the ground and dashed toward the herd of goblins.
