Chapter 218: Chapter 218: The Weird Middle-aged Man_1

After the police took Ji Yonghao to the station, they began the investigation.

About three hours later, the results of the investigation were released and Ji Yongzhe was acquitted.

Throughout the investigation process, there were no signs of any collision on Ji Yonghao’s car. Due to a malfunction in the surveillance system along the stretch of road where the incident happened that night, no surveillance footage was available. They concluded that Ji Yonghao did not hit soone with his car.

Zhang Xian found this result sowhat surprising.

Of course, he did not believe this to be true. He was certain that Ji Yonghao had tampered with the car and the surveillance footage afterwards, tidying up very thoroughly.

Since Du Xinyan and Yu Wenhui closed shop late, there were no eyewitnesses. With nothing odd found in the car or on the surveillance video, it indicated that Ji Yonghao did not hit anyone.

"That guy acts really quick," Zhang Xian said with a grim expression.

After taking a sip of tea, Ji Yonghao stood up and said, "So, how about it, kid? I didn’t hit anyone. What are you going to do about it? You really think you can take

down? That’s such a laughable joke."

Zhang Xian gave a cold smirk and said, "It’s still early. Don’t get too cocky. Your day will co."

"Ha ha..." Ji Yonghao laughed boldly. "I’m supposed to be cocky. What can you do? You better be careful at night. It’s not safe walking around!"

Zhang Xian curled his lips and said, "Just try your tricks. I’m ready. I just hope you have the guts to face ."

"Hmph..." Ji Yonghao didn’t expect Zhang Xian to be so arrogant. He gave a cold laugh and said, "Kid, you’re bold. But I like it. The bolder you are now, the more pleasurable it will be when I crush you later."

Zhang Xian gave He Zheng a look and then ignored Ji Yonghao. He turned around and walked out.

He Zheng didn’t like Ji Yonghao’s attitude, especially when people with no ability themselves liked to be high and mighty.

However, given Ji Yonghao’s hefty reputation, even though he wanted to do sothing about it, he dare not. His pitiful influence in Yantai was not enough to make a dent in the Ji family’s massive power.

"Second Young Master, you may leave now." The captain stepped forward, smiled at Ji Yonghao, and said, "Wherever you want to go, let

know, and I will escort you."

Ji Yonghao smiled and walked out.

Upon reaching the doorway, he gave Zhang Xian the middle finger before climbing into a police car and speeding away.

"Damn, that asshole is infuriating." He Zheng said, almost fuming with rage.

Zhang Xian chuckled and said, "Why let him get to you? Let the guy gloat for now. Once I get sothing on him, he’ll be calling for rcy to no avail."

He Zheng gave a dry laugh and said, "Brother Xian, it won’t be easy! Even if we find sothing substantial, the Ji family probably has enough power to suppress this situation."

"They won’t be able to suppress it. They aren’t that capable."

Zhang Xian gave a chilling smile and said, "He Zheng, have soone keep an eye on Ji Yonghao for . Twenty-four-hour surveillance. I reckon that jerk must have switched his car. Based on my friend’s description, his car must have been heavily damaged. It couldn’t be fixed in a day, so he had to switch cars. Once we find his car, it will be easy to nail him. There’s no escaping for him."

"Switch cars?" He Zheng hesitated for a mont. He asked, "Has the surveillance footage been tampered with?"

Zhang Xian nodded, saying, "Definitely. We can have soone recover that. As long as we identify the person inside the car from the surveillance footage, he won’t stand a chance."

"That... I’ll keep an eye on it," said He Zheng hesitated slightly before nodding.

He didn’t understand why Zhang Xian was so confident. He figured even if Zhang Xian were to find evidence, it wouldn’t necessarily bring down Ji Yonghao. Perhaps it would be more straightforward to wipe Ji Yonghao out directly.

...

By the ti he bid farewell to He Zheng and the others, it was already evening.

Considering it was getting late, Zhang Xian hailed a cab and proceeded towards the Tsinghua University entrance.

Just as he was about to enter, a middle-aged man seemingly not paying attention to where he was going bumped into him.

"Uh, sorry, bro."

The middle-aged man, after recovering, hurriedly apologized and then rushed off.

"What’s with that guy?"

Zhang Xian looked again at the middle-aged man; strangely, he was wearing a leather jacket, sunglasses, and a baseball cap with the brim pulled low, all in this hot weather. He skulked around like a nobody.

After a frown, he ignored the middle-aged man and turned to walk through the Tsinghua University gates.

The man then crouched by the entrance and lit a cigarette while quietly watching the campus.

"Master... Master... I’ve finally found you."

As soon as Zhang Xian entered the campus, Zhao Fuyuan rushed over, waving and yelling.

Zhang Xian frowned and said annoyingly, "Zhao Fuyuan, how many tis have I told you, I’m not your master, could never be, and will never take you as a student. Don’t show-off your goddamn relationship with

again."

"Uh..." Zhao Fuyuan rubbed his head awkwardly and said, "I’ve changed the Taekwondo Society into a martial arts club. You must at least guide us a little, right?"

Zhang Xian curled his lips and said, "That’s your business. I didn’t ask you to, why would I teach you?"

"No... not that... I..." Zhao Fuyuan hesitated.

"Don’t bother

if it’s nothing important." Zhang Xian had no patience to argue with Zhao Fuyuan and walked away.

Zhao Fuyuan quickly caught up and asked, "Master, have you seen Lin Ruoyi? Why didn’t she co to school today?"

"She didn’t co?" Zhang Xian was taken aback and then laughed bitterly, "Zhao Fuyuan, what does it have to do with

whether Lin Ruoyi cos to school or not? Why are you asking ?"

Zhao Fuyuan said, "You and Lin Ruoyi are more than just friends, who else should I ask? I don’t even have her phone number."

"Fine, you are so stubborn, I will give her a call for you." Zhang Xian let out a sigh and dialed Lin Ruoyi’s number on his phone.

Soon, Lin Ruoyi’s voice ca from the phone, "Damn you, Zhang Xian, why are you calling ?"

"Damn, I don’t want to! If you hadn’t insisted that I morize your number, I would be too lazy to rember it!" Zhang Xian was not happy when he heard Lin Ruoyi’s roar as soon as she answered the phone, "I called you because Zhao Fuyuan oddly ca to ask

why you didn’t co to school, so I thought maybe you’re having diarrhea."

"It’s you who’s having diarrhea, and your whole family!"

Zhang Xian wiped his nose and asked, "So why didn’t you co to school? What are you doing hiding at ho?"

"You think I wanted to? My dad put

under house arrest and won’t let

out. If you hadn’t abandoned

yesterday, none of this would have happened. It’s all your fault, you jerk."

"Cough... You were put under house arrest?" Zhang Xian coughed, "Little sister Lin, that’s your family matter, I can’t interfere!"

"What about family matters? You always have an excuse for everything."

Zhang Xian let out a bitter laugh, "Fine! It’s my fault, I can’t be bothered to quarrel with you. Zhao Fuyuan seems to have sothing to tell you. You should talk to him."

"No, I want to chat with you."

"Chat your sister! He’s got sothing serious to tell you. Why the hell would I chat with you? I ain’t got the ti for your bullshit."

"I don’t care, I don’t care, I won’t listen; I just won’t listen. Go ahead, bite !"

"You..." Zhang Xian was sowhat annoyed. He turned to Zhao Fuyuan and asked, "What do you need from her? Why won’t she talk to you?"

"Well... Actually, it’s not really important. If she doesn’t agree, that’s fine." Zhao Fuyuan said with a bitter smile on his face. He admired Zhang Xian greatly. He had heard the conversation between Zhang Xian and Lin Ruoyi. In the entire Tsinghua University, it was probably only Zhang Xian who thought chatting with a beauty like Lin Ruoyi was a waste of ti, yet oddly enough, Lin Ruoyi would only chat with Zhang Xian.

"Damn, why did you make

call if there is nothing important?" Zhang Xian angrily said.

Zhao Fuyuan was stunned and quickly ran off, "Master, I just rembered I have sothing to do. So I’ll go first. You chat slowly with mistress."

"F--k...." Zhang Xian’s mouth twitched unnaturally. He turned around and walked towards the classroom.

Just then, Lin Ruoyi’s roar ca from the phone, "Damn you, Zhang Xian, what do you an? Why aren’t you talking to ? I can’t go out, you have to accompany

to chat."

"Damn, I don’t have that spare ti."

"I don’t care, you must accompany

to chat. If it weren’t for you, why would I be under house arrest? It’s all your fault."

"What kind of logic is that?"

"It’s my Lin Ruoyi’s logic, what are you going to do, bite ?"

"I couldn’t care less about biting you, it’s not like I haven’t before, really, it’s no big deal."

"Damn you, Zhang Xian, you... you’re a jerk..."

...

After a lot of effort and ti, Zhang Xian finally managed to hang up on the annoying Lin Ruoyi, and arrived outside the classroom.

Just then, the school bell rang. Zhu Yan ran out of the classroom, "Brother-in-law, let’s go ho! I don’t feel like studying tonight, it’s pointless."

"Um, let’s go then!" Zhang Xian nodded.

Zhu Yan smiled, linked her arm through Zhang Xian’s and started walking out, "Brother-in-law, you’re so nice!"

"Ha ha, if your brother-in-law isn’t nice, who is?" Zhang Xian laughed.

At the school gate, a middle-aged man lit a cigarette and casually followed behind them, keeping a reasonable distance, as he saw Zhang Xian and Zhu Yan leave the school gate.

Zhang Xian walked for a while and noticed soone trailing behind him, which made him frown.

The guy following them was the sa one who bumped into him earlier when he got out of the car. Because of his odd attire, it aroused his curiosity. Now that he was following so closely, Zhang Xian had a bad feeling.

After walking for a while, he noticed that the middle-aged man was still following him, and had already entered a deserted alley. He suddenly turned around and asked, "How much longer are you planning to follow us?"

The middle-aged man raised his head and flashed a toothy yellow grin.

"Ah ..." Zhu Yan, who hadn’t noticed anyone behind them until now, was scared and quickly hid behind Zhang Xian.

Zhang Xian laughed and asked, "Are you mute? You’ve been following us all this ti, what’s going on?"

The middle-aged man didn’t respond, but instead reached into his coat. At the sa ti, the smile on his face beca more and more creepy, with a hint of coldness in it.

Zhang Xian had a slight change in his expression.

At that mont, the middle-aged man pulled out a silver handgun and pointed it at Zhu Yan. His smile on his face also beca cruel.
