85: Chapter 85 The Sa Attitude 85: Chapter 85 The Sa Attitude Emma Campbell had been deeply imrsed in her heroic fantasies about Jas Brown, and she was particularly enamored with the feeling of being held in his embrace.
Even when Sarah Grandy showed up, Emma remained in a dazed state, never considering letting go of Jas.
However, Sarah’s questioning finally snapped Emma back to reality.
She swiftly and subconsciously released Jas, looking toward Sarah in panic.
Feeling that things would get very complicated if Sarah Grandy clung to him, Jas had an idea.
He extended his arm and wrapped it around Emma again, saying, “She’s my girlfriend, Emma Campbell.
Sarah, you should be calling her ‘auntie.'”
“Auntie…” Emma felt a surge of mixed emotions.
How old was she to be called ‘auntie’?
Yet, the sweetness overpowered her initial shock — had Jas Brown just acknowledged her as his girlfriend?
Did this an he had accepted her?
Her heart raced like a startled deer, her face so red she thought blood might drip from it, her legs going weak and limp as she leaned into Jas’s embrace.
Sarah Grandy’s eyes widened, brimming with anger and hurt, as she sized Emma up and down before snapping, “You’re lying to .
She’s not your girlfriend.”
Jas Brown flashed a smile and replied, “If she wasn’t my girlfriend, would I be holding her like this?”
“That doesn’t prove anything.
She’s not right for you,” Sarah said firmly, shaking her head.
Jas turned his head and gently kissed Emma on the cheek, asking, “Do you believe now?”
“I don’t!” Sarah’s eyes burned with even more fury, yet she still shook her head.
Jas rolled his eyes and said, “Whether you believe it or not, we’re going ho now.” Then he walked past Sarah, holding onto Emma.
Sarah quickly followed, grabbing onto Jas’s other arm and pleading loudly, “Big Brother, don’t lie to .
She’s clearly not your girlfriend.
What if I beco your girlfriend instead?”
“Stop ssing around,” Jas said, breaking into a sweat.
Kids these days were just too bold.
“I’m not ssing around.
If she was really your girlfriend, she would’ve gotten mad at clinging onto you.
But she didn’t,” Sarah snorted, confident in her observation despite her young age.
Jas was at a loss for words, quietly impressed by Sarah’s shrewdness.
Sarah then coquettishly shook Jas’s arm again, “Big Brother, please just agree.
I’ll be your girlfriend; I’ll take good care of you.”
Jas was exasperated, showing no interest in such forwardness from a girl.
Sarah Grandy’s glare forced him to reply firmly, “No, go do what you’re supposed to do.
We’re heading ho.”
Emma couldn’t help but feel upset by Sarah interrupting her tender mont with Jas and now pestering him relentlessly, though she was too gentle to confront Sarah harshly.
Nevertheless, Emma mustered the courage and softly declared, “I live with Big Brother Brown.”
“What?” Sarah’s eyes bulged, staring intently at Emma across Jas.
Emma puffed out her chest, her face flushed but resolute as she faced Sarah’s gaze, “I’m already living with Big Brother Brown, so please stop disturbing him from now on.”
Sarah’s murderous glare shifted to Jas, “Big Brother, is that true?”
Jas hadn’t expected Emma to say sothing so bold, but wanting to shake off Sarah, he promptly confird, “Yes, we live together.
She stays at my place on weekends.”
Feeling Sarah’s icy grip, Jas felt no guilt.
Being soft-hearted with this young girl would only hurt her, so he kept smiling at Sarah, while secretly squeezing Emma’s hand in approval.
Emma squeezed his hand back, her heart overflowing with an indescribable joy.
Even though she knew Jas said it to reject Sarah, and while he hadn’t really agreed to it, she couldn’t help feeling happy and blessed.
As Sarah’s expression shifted rapidly, Jas sensed his tactic was working; now he just waited for her to storm off in a rage.
But instead of leaving, Sarah’s expression turned fierce as she declared to Jas, “Fine, then I’ll live with you too.
I refuse to believe I can’t win against her!”
Jas stumbled, a mishap that hadn’t occurred to him since his military days, completely taken aback by Sarah’s audacious words.
Fortunately, his quick reflexes steadied him soon after.
Jas had had his share of thrill-seeking and indulgent monts, but never had he considered such a proposition now, especially coming from a high school girl like Sarah.
It was simply too much to handle.
While Jas wrestled with the surprise, Emma was even more overwheld, too embarrassed even to lift her head.
Adding to Jas’s dilemma, they were all suddenly confronted by Helen Wilson, the police officer, who was glaring daggers at Jas with unbridled ferocity, looking ready to commit murder.
It was clear Helen must have overheard Sarah’s words, and this justice-driven policewoman surely thought Jas had deceived two innocent girls.
“Officer Wilson, what a coincidence,” Jas Brown chuckled nervously, greeting her.
“It is indeed a coincidence!” Helen Wilson squeezed out three words through gritted teeth, her voice so cold it raised hairs.
Jas Brown laughed it off and said, “Well then, I won’t interfere with Officer Wilson’s work.
We’re leaving.”
“Don’t you dare leave!” Helen Wilson glared at Jas Brown and then turned to look at Emma Campbell and Sarah Grandy with a stern face.
“Show your IDs.”
Since today was Saturday, Helen Wilson wasn’t wearing her uniform, but Emma Campbell and Sarah Grandy knew she was a cop because Jas Brown had addressed her as “Officer Wilson.” Emma Campbell timidly handed over her ID.
Helen Wilson looked at it and frowned.
“You’re a college student still in school.
Do you know what you’re getting yourself into?”
Emma’s face flushed red as she spoke softly, “I know, Big Brother Brown is a good person.
I…
I…”
“Hmph!” Helen Wilson glared at Jas Brown and said bitterly, “You sure know how to play your cards.”
Jas Brown gave a wry smile and said, “You’ve got the wrong idea.”
Helen Wilson grunted and then turned to Sarah Grandy.
“Your ID.”
Sarah pouted and replied, “I don’t have it with .”
“Don’t have it?
What’s your na?”
“Sarah Grandy.”
“And your ho address?”
Sarah Grandy imdiately spoke up, “Listen, Officer Wilson, what do you an by this?
Are we breaking the law by standing on this street?”
Helen Wilson kept a stern face and said, “I suspect this guy is abducting a minor, so please cooperate with the investigation.”
Jas Brown’s face darkened as he said, “Officer Wilson, don’t you think you’re going a bit too far?”
Sarah smirked and said, “Don’t try to scare us with your police officer status.
If you say you’re a cop, do you have a badge?
Show it to .”
Helen Wilson was at a loss for words.
She had only stepped out to run an errand and happened to pass by this place.
Usually, even when she went out on weekends, she’d carry her badge, but today she had forgotten it.
Sarah, seizing the upper hand, continued, “Pfft, you don’t even have a badge; who can prove you’re a cop?
What right do you have to question us?
If you’ve got a crush on my Big Brother, just say it upfront, instead of playing these gas.
I don’t fall for that.”
Helen Wilson’s face grew even uglier, but she couldn’t get angry with a young girl, so she glared at Jas Brown and said, “Jas Brown, you better watch yourself.
If I find any evidence, I’ll personally arrest you.”
Jas Brown broke into a cold sweat and said, “Officer Wilson, I really don’t know what I’ve done to offend you.”
Helen Wilson snorted coldly and said, “You haven’t offended ; I’ve seen through you.
You change won like you change clothes; you’re nothing but a heartbreaker.
Let tell you both, you’d do well to stay away from him.”
Sarah, gloating, said, “I enjoy being tricked; what’s it to you?
Co on, Big Brother, let’s go,”
Jas Brown didn’t want Sarah to make things worse, so he hurriedly said, “Quit talking nonsense.
I don’t like you, you little brat.”
Helen Wilson stumped her foot in anger and said fiercely, “I will check, I definitely will.
You’d better not let catch you.”
“Giggle, seeing that cop so angry her face turned black is so funny,” Out of Helen Wilson’s sight, Sarah imdiately started giggling.
Jas Brown snorted and said, “Do you have any idea how much trouble you could cause ?”
Sarah threw her head back and clung to Jas Brown’s arm, saying, “What trouble could there be?”
Those young and fearless, not knowing fear or trouble, Jas Brown knew it was pointless to explain to her.
He resignedly said, “Fine, listen to now.
I’m going ho, you do whatever you need to do.”
