Jack Carter and Anna Smith were extrely grateful to Gina Lopez. They still didn’t know that John Brown was Gina Lopez’s husband, and were naturally appreciative of their boss for being so involved in this matter.

Gina Lopez candidly ntioned that acquiring this company would benefit the entire J Corporation. Additionally, she had recently beco very impressed with Anna Smith’s work abilities and wanted Anna to temporarily serve as the manager of this branch.

This was sothing Anna Smith hadn’t expected at all; it was a huge stroke of luck. Her life had been filled with humiliations recently, but suddenly her future was looking bright.

In the process of resolving this issue, Gina Lopez and Anna Smith, along with Jack Carter, had frequent interactions. Aside from recognizing Anna Smith’s working capabilities, Gina felt more acutely the emotions between Jack and Anna. Reflecting on her own relationship with John Brown, she realized their relationship seed much too bland. Apart from being in bed together, there wasn’t much of a spark between them, as if they’d been married for over a decade. Yet, Gina should still be in a passionate romance with John Brown.

However, with so many things happening in the company, even when coming ho at night, there’s still a lot to do. To think of a romantic evening with John Brown was practically impossible as there’s neither the ti nor energy.

"Sigh..." Gina Lopez let out a soft sigh, wondering when she would be able to enjoy a movie or spend so quality couple ti with John Brown.

This weekend is Old Master Smith’s birthday, and John Brown and lody Yoody ca to City Center to celebrate. lody’s stomach was already slightly protruding, but as the weather turned cooler, she wore a trench coat, and generally, people couldn’t tell she was pregnant.

Once they arrived at lody Yoody’s family ho and greeted Old Master Smith and others, John Brown and lody Yoody settled into her room there. Lying on the bed, John Brown sat at her feet and began to massage them.

Seeing John Brown about to speak again, lody Yoody imdiately chided him, "I say, you rascal, don’t nag here anymore. You haven’t shut up along the way. Can’t you let my ears have so peace for a while?"

John Brown glared at lody Yoody, saying, "It’s not that I want to say more. Look at yourself; you’re over four months pregnant now, yet why are you still working so hard? Which is more important, the baby or your work?"

Regarding such nagging from John Brown, lody Yoody actually found it quite endearing. She snorted and said, "Then you should co over and take care of . If you leave alone, don’t I need to handle everything myself? You’re only here talking."

John Brown could now face lody Yoody’s sarcasm calmly and said softly, "It’s inconvenient, isn’t it? Think about it, you’re a big county magistrate. If I, a married man, co to serve you, what if others see it? Wouldn’t that be bad for your reputation?"

lody Yoody pouted and responded, "Stop with the nice words; you’re clearly afraid of your wife."

John Brown chuckled and said, "I’ve co to accompany you for the birthday bash. If Gina didn’t agree, could I have co? Don’t look at Gina with tinted glasses; she’s actually really good and what she’s done to this point is not easy at all."

"I really can’t understand this. If it were , and you’re ssing around with other won, I’d definitely... castrate you." Saying this, lody Yoody made a scissor gesture with her hand, and then continued fiercely, "But she can recognize Charlotte and Emma Campbell; doesn’t she get jealous?"

"Well... I guess she’s not feeling good inside, but there are so special reasons for this. For the sake of our family, she can only compromise a bit."

"Letting things go like this, I really don’t understand what she’s thinking. Right, you ntioned Emma Campbell and Charlotte are also in your house. Do you go into their rooms and stay there too?"

"Yes!" John Brown didn’t deny it.

"And Gina Lopez can handle this?" lody Yoody’s eyes widened again.

"Since she’s accepted Emma Campbell and Charlotte, then she naturally has to accept this too." Although he said so, John Brown still felt quite guilty. For Gina Lopez, it’s certainly very demanding. That Gina can manage to get to this extent is a great indulgence to him as her husband.

lody Yoody frowned slightly and said to John Brown, "Alright, I admit, in this aspect, I surely can’t compare with your wife. Even thinking of you with other won irritates , let alone if you were in bed with other won right under my nose. Ah, lighten up, you’re trying to murder ."

John Brown lessened his effort quickly and said, "I’m trying to relax you."

lody Yoody snorted and said, "You’re just feeling guilty, sigh. I really don’t get it. You were a rather innocent guy before, and now you’re so unrestrained. You got married and still ended up with multiple partners. Had I known you’d turn out like this, I should have castrated you then, it would’ve been cleaner."

John Brown gave a dry laugh, knowing how deep lody Yoody’s grievances were. They were each other’s first love, yet lody couldn’t beco his legitimate wife and now she had to bear his child, which was truly hard. So even if lody complained, John Brown could only accept it.

"Cousin, brother-in-law!" With a gust of wind, Emily Bailey rushed in and happened to see Jas Brown massaging lody Yoody’s foot. She stuck out her tongue and said, "Oops, sorry, I seem to have co at the wrong ti."

lody Yoody glared at Emily and said, "You girl, you’re in university now, how can you still be so reckless? Don’t you know to knock before coming in?"

"Hehe, next ti I’ll definitely knock. But who knew you guys would be up to such mischief in broad daylight." Emily playfully winked at Jas.

Jas put lody’s foot down and said, "Your sister is tired, shouldn’t I give her a foot massage?"

Emily plopped down next to lody and said, "Brother-in-law, thank you so much last ti."

Jas laughed and said, "What are you thanking for? It’s not like I’m a stranger. It wouldn’t make sense for as a brother-in-law not to look out for you."

"What happened?" lody imdiately frowned and asked.

Emily stuck out her tongue again and said, "I almost got tricked at school, but my brother-in-law just happened to be there and rescued . He even gave those guys a good beating. Now, the annoying guys at school don’t dare to ss with ."

"What happened?" lody imdiately got tense.

Emily then recounted the incident in detail, and after listening, lody put on a stern face and said, "I’ve told you already, don’t go out casually with others. If sothing really happens, there’s no dicine for regret."

Emily quickly said, "I know, I’ve already admitted my mistake. Why are you still lecturing ?"

In the Yawk Family, Emily and lody have a pretty good relationship, and she’s also quite familiar with Jas, so she stayed around to chat with them leisurely.

Emily then added, "Cousin, this ti Grandpa’s birthday will be a grand celebration with many guests attending."

"Oh? Really?" lody looked at Emily with so disbelief. The old master has been keeping a low profile these years; even on birthdays, it’s usually just family and a few old friends, never a big affair.

Emily confidently said, "Yes, I just overheard my parents talking about it, it’s absolutely true."

Jas and lody exchanged a glance, both feeling the unusualness of this matter. Although the Yawk Family is among the major families in the City Center, its strength is not the greatest, so Old Master Smith usually acts very low-key. Such high-profile behavior suggests many implications.

Just then, soone ca to knock on the door; it was soone sent by the old master to find Jas and lody. The two quickly got up and went to see the old master.

In the old master’s study, there was no one else besides him. Seeing Jas and lody enter, the old master smiled and gestured, "Have a seat."

Jas helped lody sit down and smiled, "Grandpa, what did you want to see us about?"

The old master rocked on his chair, took a sip of tea, and said, "Our Yawk Family has been low-key for so long, I want to take this opportunity to make our family’s na famous. Do you have any opinions?"

Although lody is in the officialdom, she’s really never been involved in such family feuds, so she didn’t know how to respond for a mont. Jas smiled and said, "Grandpa, you’ve already made the decision, asking for our opinion is a bit unnecessary, isn’t it?"

The old master laughed and said, "Jas is still the smart one." Then his deanor beca serious, "Jas, the situation in the City Center is extrely complex right now, and I can’t stay low-key anymore. Recently, due to reasons above, there’s been a very frequent reshuffling at the provincial level. There are a few positions that are very important. If we can secure these positions, our Yawk Family can beco the top family in the City Center. We are determined to win them, but the other families are also eyeing them greedily; they’re all fixated on these positions."

Jas squinted and said, "I must say, sir, no matter which family it is, it’s unlikely to suddenly obtain these positions easily. The ones above allow your kind of family to exist, but they also don’t want any one family to grow too powerful, as that would cause big problems. Maintaining balance is the most important, I think in the end, these positions will just go to one of each of the major families, to balance things out."

The old master gave a thumbs up and said, "Well said, Jas indeed has insight. I also know this is the truth, but there’s a position for Lieutenant Governor, which is the biggest of the lot, and our ultimate goal is this position. You should know that for a prominent family like ours in the province, the best position we can be given is the Lieutenant Governor. Whichever family holds the Lieutenant Governor spot will overshadow the others, at least during the term; that’s how it is. Our Yawk Family has been lagging behind for years because we can’t secure this position. This ti, no matter what, you have to help our family take this position."
