A little after three, John Brown said he was going out to buy groceries, and Emily Berns imdiately stood up and said she’d go with him, as did Emma Campbell.
This surprised Emily Berns, and she said, "Emma, aren’t you going back?"
Emma Campbell’s face turned red, and she said in a low voice, "I’m staying here tonight."
"What? You’re... staying here?" Emily Berns’ eyes widened instantly. She had been chatting with Emma Campbell for quite a while and learned how Emma Campbell and John Brown t, and that they had maintained their relationship. But she didn’t know Emma Campbell had already gotten Gina Lopez’s approval. So when she heard Emma Campbell say she was staying here, she was naturally shocked to the point that her jaw almost dropped.

"Emma, Gina wouldn’t just say yes on the outside but actually be excluding you in her heart, right?" Emily Berns asked Emma Campbell quietly as they walked behind.
In the past, Emma Campbell really couldn’t be sure, but when Gina Lopez stood up for her today, she truly felt how protective Gina Lopez was of her. With a sweet smile, she said, "No, Sister Gina is really nice to ."

"Emma, are you feeling better?" Gina Lopez asked with concern as soon as she ca in.
Emma Campbell quickly said, "Thank you, Sister Gina. I’m fine now."
Emily Lopez, who hadn’t co back with her sister and didn’t know what had happened, imdiately asked, "What happened?"
Gina Lopez narrated the incident of Emma Campbell helping an elderly and being extorted. Upon hearing this, both Emily Lopez and Emily Berns were filled with righteous indignation, cursing that shaless old man’s family.
"Even a dog rembers kindness and wags its tail in friendliness if you give it a treat. That old man’s family is downright wicked."
"Exactly, it’s like the snake in the Farr and the Viper story. You save it, and it bites you back."
"Brother-in-law, did they just comply after you scolded them? And you just let them go like that? Such scum are a nace in society."
Gina Lopez and John Brown exchanged a glance, and John Brown chuckled, "Don’t worry, I’ll deal with them, but we’re civilized people, so no need for barbarism."
Emily Lopez scoffed and said, "Deal with filth and scum, there’s no civility to talk about with them."
At this mont, Little Violet said, "If an old man falls, shouldn’t we help him?"

However, Charlotte ntioned that she stayed with Emma Campbell and John Brown together. Could Charlotte have been telling the truth?
In her modest experience, Emily Berns was unsure. Her only encounter with John Brown was under unusual circumstances. While the idea of a woman with a man was embarrassing enough for her to even think about, the notion of two won with one man was simply unthinkable.
