Chapter 672: Chapter 710: Sarah Utah’s Dilemma

When John Brown ca back again, Sarah Utah was still playing mahjong with everyone. Seeing John return, her initially dispirited face suddenly lit up with energy. John pulled up a chair and sat next to her, asking, “How’s it going?”

“Not good, I lost a lot again.” Sarah pouted, looking all coy, a rare chance for her to act cute with John, yet it ca naturally this ti.

A guy across from them imdiately joked with a smile, “I say, John, since you left for over an hour, Sarah has been absent-minded, how could she not lose? She really cares about you, you weren’t out eting a lover, were you?”

This was ant as a joke, but it hit the mark. John chuckled and said, “With a girlfriend like Sarah, why would I need another, that would be foolish.”

Hearing this, Sarah was even happier, smiling sweetly, she said, “Then you play.”

“No need, you keep playing, I’ll just watch.”

Sarah felt it was better this way, so she wouldn’t be pulled away by female classmates and could stay with John.

And with John’s return, Sarah not only perked up but her luck improved as well. Next, she won five rounds in a row, even when another player finally won a hand, allowing her a break, she quickly won several more rounds. In under an hour, Sarah not only recovered her losses but earned a small surplus.

Everyone was playing for small stakes, even at their worst, John and Sarah had lost only a few dollars, and now they had won around ten or twenty. This money ant little to Sarah, but she was genuinely happy.

Naturally, everyone joked with Sarah during the ga, and she enjoyed it, the more they teased her and John, the happier she was.

It was getting late, and many classmates had tasks the next day, so the group dispersed and headed to the rooms prepared by a male character.

As they went upstairs, Sarah’s face turned red. She quietly said to John, “Big Brother Brown, we only have one room key.”

“One… you an we have to share a room?” John found it amusing and awkward.

Sarah, feeling shy, said, “They… assud we were… so they arranged it this way, and I couldn’t explain.”

“Then let’s share a room, it’s not like we haven’t stayed together before.” John was quite straightforward.

John let out a small exclamation, and Sarah’s face turned even redder, yet there was an indescribable joy in her heart. They found their room, opened the door, and stepped inside together.

This was a five-star hotel, and the male character had arranged excellent accommodations for the classmates. The room was quite good, with a suite, a small living room outside, and a spacious bedroom inside. The only drawback was there was just one bed, and the outside sofas were all single-seaters.

Seeing the room setup, Sarah’s heart raced like a little deer. She opened her mouth to speak but couldn’t, leaving the problem to John, “Big Brother Brown, I’m going to take a shower first,” and she slipped into the bathroom.

John sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, then called Gina Lopez, who hadn’t slept yet. She quickly answered, “Finally thought to call , huh?”

John laughed, “I was playing mahjong with them, couldn’t call you earlier. Now I’m back and getting ready to sleep, so I called.”

“Oh, going to sleep? Sleeping alone?”

“No, with Sarah.”

“Ah, just the two of you?” Gina’s voice was hard to read, whether angry or disappointed.

“Don’t worry, I’ll let her sleep in the bedroom, I’ll manage on the sofa for the night.”

“That’s more like it, but won’t it be uncomfortable?”

“It’s fine, just for one night.”

“Alright, tough it out for tonight, when you get back, I’ll reward you.”

“How will you reward ?” John asked with a playful laugh.

“Not telling, you’ll see when you get back.” Gina yawned, “Alright, no more talking, I was about to fall asleep, and you woke up, I need to sleep now.”

“Goodnight, darling.”

“Goodnight, hubby!”

After hanging up, John still had a smile on his face. It seed that asking Gina for permission when staying out late was becoming a habit, the two were really starting to feel like a married couple.

Not long after, Sarah ca out of the bathroom, wearing a floral cotton pajama set. Knowing she would stay for the night, she had packed this sleepwear.

Her originally fair face was now flushed from the bath, she said, “Big Brother Brown, I’m going to sleep first, you go wash up too.”

John obliged and went into the bathroom, which was still filled with steam and a subtle fragrance—part Sarah’s and partly from the bath products.

Soaking in the tub Sarah had just used, John relaxed his body. He had been quite exhausted earlier at Alice and company’s place, but now soaking in hot water was very comforting and eased his fatigue.

anwhile, Sarah lay in bed but couldn’t sleep, her mind awash with jumbled thoughts.

“At this mont, Big Brother Brown must be soaking in the bathtub, the very one I used earlier. We’re sharing a tub; it’s so embarrassing.”

“When he finishes bathing, will he co straight in? If he gets into bed with … what should I do? Would he try to do that thing? If he wants to, should I say yes or no?”

Sarah was really tangled up inside. She loved John, and if he were not married, she wouldn’t be so conflicted. Even if it was just a marriage, she wouldn’t be troubled; she wouldn’t disrupt John’s marriage. But with Charlotte and Emma in the picture, Sarah felt that even if she did get involved with John, it likely wouldn’t be seen as ruining his marriage.

Turning back and forth in bed for a while, she heard John’s footsteps outside, her heart leaping into her throat. She turned over, back facing the door, pretending to be asleep. She didn’t know how to handle this situation, leaving it to John to decide. No matter what decision he made, she would go along with it.

However, after a while, John didn’t co in, leaving Sarah puzzled. Perhaps he hadn’t finished bathing?

Waiting longer, the room beca quieter, and she heard the sound of John’s breathing outside; he was indeed still outside and hadn’t co in.

“John… aren’t you going to sleep?” Sarah finally couldn’t resist the nagging anxiety and asked softly.

“I am, I’ll sleep on the sofa outside,” John replied.

Suddenly, Sarah’s heart felt bitter; she didn’t know why, it was just uncomfortable, even sad. This sadness overca her and impulsively she said, “John, co sleep inside.”

As soon as she said it, Sarah was stunned. What got into her? How could she say such a thing? But the words had already been spoken, and there was no taking them back.
