Jas Brown’s entire long holiday passed, and the next day, he arrived at the company looking quite professional. He even brought two packs of good cigarettes for the security staff, and these guys, having received the benefits from Jas Brown, started buttering him up. Jas Brown casually chatted and joked with them, finding this kind of life rather comfortable.
The morning passed quickly, and at noon, Jas Brown didn’t go to Gina Lopez’s place. Over the holiday, Gina Lopez had been extrely busy and had gathered several company departnt managers at noon to handle work matters.
Jas Brown was in his office playing gas when Sarah Utah ca by.
"Sarah Utah, are you feeling completely fine now?" Jas Brown pushed aside the mouse, poured a glass of water for Sarah Utah, and asked with a smile.
Sarah Utah’s face flushed red, but she didn’t avoid Jas Brown’s gaze, saying, "I’m fine now. Thanks to Big Brother Brown for... getting rid of the poison back then, otherwise, I might’ve lost my life at that ti."
Jas Brown silently cursed himself for being stupid. Why bring this up now? But he could only pretend nothing happened and said with a smile, "There’s no need to be polite with ." Saying this, he sat beside Sarah Utah.
Sarah Utah took a sip of water and said, "Big Brother Brown, I have a favor to ask you."
"What is it? If it’s too difficult, I might not be able to do it," Jas Brown replied with a chuckle.
Sarah Utah knew Jas Brown was joking, which relaxed her mood a lot, and she said, "This weekend, my classmate Lisa Smith is getting married and invited to attend."
"A classmate getting married is a lively event, it’s quite nice to go," Jas Brown said with a smile.
"A classmate getting married is normal, but this ti Lisa insisted I bring you along, and everyone insisted I bring a boyfriend. It’s because Lisa ran her mouth. Rember when she saw us in a Porsche? So think I found a wealthy boyfriend and want to cozy up, while others think I’m soone’s... mistress and want to mock . Anyway, they insist I bring you."
"When is it?" Jas Brown asked with a smile.
"It’s this Friday. They’re really sothing, not getting married during the long holiday. If it was during the holiday, I could have avoided it, but now I can’t dodge it."
Jas Brown said with a smile, "Why avoid it? Anyway, we have to give a red envelope; you give one, and two of us eat, we might even get more than we pay."
Sarah Utah burst into laughter and said, "Maybe we’ll even profit. Lisa, who’s getting married, is marrying soone who seems quite wealthy, holding the wedding at a five-star hotel, inviting lots of celebrities. The banquet can’t be bad."
Jas Brown laughed heartily and said, "Then we should definitely go. I’m just going to eat for free, and you can’t pass up free food."
"Oh, by the way, Big Brother Brown, we shouldn’t take any fancy car this ti. I don’t want to attract too much attention. Just say the car last ti was borrowed."
Jas Brown nodded and said, "No problem, that car was borrowed. Your Big Brother Brown doesn’t have such a nice car." He silently thought, "Since Lucy Campbell’s things are practically mine now with our relationship at this point?"
"Thanks, Big Brother Brown."
"By the way, are there any other requests? Should we dress up a bit more or keep it casual?"
Sarah Utah hesitated for a mont and said, "Let’s keep it casual."
Jas Brown nodded, feeling quite appreciative of Sarah Utah. Generally, girls like their boyfriends to show off, but Sarah Utah didn’t care at all, which was truly rare.
After finishing this discussion, the room suddenly beca quiet. Sarah Utah held her water cup, looking down, while Jas Brown lit a cigarette, unsure of what to chat about with Sarah Utah.
A gentle breeze blew past, making the wind chis at the window emit a pleasant sound. Both of them looked at the wind chis simultaneously. Sarah Utah imdiately stood up and said, "Big Brother Brown, these wind chis have been hanging for a long ti. There’s definitely quite a bit of dust on them. Let clean them for you."
Jas Brown imdiately said, "There’s no need. They look pretty clean to ."
"No way, there’s definitely dust on them. It might even have ford stains. If we don’t clean it, you won’t even see the original color," Sarah Utah said as she walked out directly. Not long after, she returned with a basin, a towel, and a bottle of cleaner.
Jas Brown couldn’t stop Sarah Utah now. Regardless, there wasn’t much going on at noon, so he moved a stool and said, "Let do the cleaning."
"No, no, you, a big man, can’t clean it well. Let do it." As she spoke, she already climbed onto the stool, saying, "Big Brother Brown, just help wring the towel."
John Brown had to comply with Sarah Utah, wringing the towel and then handing it to her as she stood on the stool.
Sarah was diligently cleaning the wind chi, which was a gift she made for John Brown with great care. John Brown had always kept it hanging in his office; first, it was the office of the Personnel Departnt, and later, when he moved to the Security Departnt, he brought the wind chi with him. This sweetened Sarah’s heart, indicating that she still had a place in John Brown’s heart.
With an excuse in hand, Sarah didn’t feel as awkward anymore. She wiped a few tis and gestured the towel toward John Brown, saying, "Look, isn’t it really dirty."
John Brown nodded, saying, "It sure is. I thought it was quite clean; turns out it’s actually this dirty."
"Yeah, things at ho and in the office are like this; they look clean but are actually very dirty. You just have to clean them regularly. I’ll help you clean more often whenever I have ti."
Knowing that even if he refused, Sarah would still co, John Brown chuckled, saying, "Thank you so much. But this cleaning service of yours is so advanced, I don’t even know how much to pay you."
Sarah chuckled lightly, saying, "Then just treat to a movie or a al soti, and we’ll call it even."
"No problem. It seems like I’m getting the better deal here. I don’t know how many people are lining up to ask you for dinner and a movie."
John Brown’s words weren’t an exaggeration. Sarah had been working here for over six months, always at the manager level, with more than ten people under her. She gradually developed a savvy and competent deanor of a white-collar worker, which, combined with her inherent grace, made her even more attractive than six months ago, more flavorful, and made the male employees’ hearts flutter. Indeed, many people would line up to ask her out if she nodded in agreent.
"No way, but let’s forget about it. If you say you’re going out to watch a movie and have dinner with , Sister Gina might get upset. I don’t want to make things difficult for you."
"Gina is not that petty," John Brown replied with a smile.
Sarah nodded repeatedly, saying, "Yeah, Sister Gina really is generous. I never thought she’d actually agree to Emma. If it were , I wouldn’t have agreed so easily back then."
John Brown was montarily stunned; even a gentle girl like Sarah wouldn’t accept such things easily, let alone a strong woman like Gina. For her to nod her head, it must take an incredibly large heart.
"Big Brother Brown, what’s wrong?" Sarah handed the towel to John Brown and, seeing him daydreaming, imdiately asked.
"Oh... nothing, just thinking about sothing." John Brown took the towel, washing it in the basin, while internally waves were surging. Gina Lopez, as a wife, was indeed remarkable, having done so much for him. He should treat her even better.
Seeing John Brown like this, Sarah’s heart suddenly pounded wildly. "Big Brother Brown doesn’t want to be like Emma, does he? If he actually says that, what will I do?"
"Sarah, here you go." John Brown wrung the towel and handed it to Sarah.
Sarah’s mind was in disarray, and when John Brown called her, it startled her, making her legs weak so she couldn’t stand steadily on the stool anymore. She exclaid in fear and fell downward.
John Brown quickly reached out and caught her, while Sarah instinctively wrapped her arms tightly around his neck, almost hanging onto him, her face pressed against his shoulder.
"Sarah, are you okay?" John Brown gently patted her back.
"No... I’m fine," Sarah whispered, though her arms relaxed, she didn’t imdiately let go of John Brown’s neck. Holding him like this made her feel intoxicated.
On the island, Sarah had been embraced by John Brown, even once embracing him unclothed, but back then, because she wore so little, embarrassnt and awkwardness overwheld any sense of happiness. Yet now, being held by John Brown, feeling the warmth of his embrace, she didn’t feel shy like before and strangely felt blissful.
With Sarah holding him like this, John Brown sensed her attachnt to him. Rembering the ti on the island when Sarah lay on him for warmth, he couldn’t bear to push her away now, so he gently held her. Holding such a beautiful girl, who liked him so much, inevitably made John Brown a bit intoxicated too.
But just then, the door suddenly swung open. John Brown and Sarah quickly separated and looked towards the door, where Gina Lopez stood, staring at them in astonishnt. Her eyebrows then furrowed, and her face turned rather unpleasantly.
John Brown couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty. How could this happen so coincidentally, with Gina arriving at this mont, making both him and Sarah feel as if they were caught in the act?
