423: Chapter 430: Lucy Campbell’s Man 423: Chapter 430: Lucy Campbell’s Man William Johnson burst into laughter and said, “These are just kids’ affairs, a little conflict is nothing.”

Lucy Campbell smiled faintly and replied, “Mr.

Johnson, there’s no need to be so polite.

If Jas Brown hit soone from the Brownie Family, and you just swallow this without reacting, it’ll look like I’m pressuring you.

You are free to retaliate against Jas Brown, but I have only one request—don’t go after Jas Brown’s family or friends.

Confront him directly.”

William Johnson was montarily stunned but soon understood Lucy Campbell’s implications.

He chuckled and said, “Since Miss Johnson has put it that way, I’ll accept your terms.”

“Alright then.

In the future, if you’re ever in the Capital of SSUP or YODC City, feel free to call .

I’ve always admired your reputation, Mr.

Johnson.”

“Of course, of course!”

After hanging up the phone, William Johnson’s expression turned grim.

He said, “Joe is really an idiot.

Knowing full well that Jas Brown has close ties to the Sanker Family, he still recklessly stirred up trouble.”

Jessica Wilson’s face changed suddenly, and she anxiously said, “Dad, you’re not going to stand up for Joe anymore, are you?”

William Johnson snorted and said, “You’ve all grown arrogant.

While our family is powerful in the province, on a national scale, many families surpass us.

The Sanker Family is one of the most prominent families in the Capital of SSUP.

Lucy Campbell is now even praised as the most beautiful woman in SSUP Country—not only does she have stunning looks, but her abilities are exceptional.

She’s not soone the Brownie Family can afford to provoke.”

“So… does that an Joe was beaten for nothing?”

William Johnson waved his hand dismissively and said, “Enough!

Leave alone.

I’ll handle this matter.

Don’t cause any more trouble.”

After sending Michael Johnson and the others out, William Johnson tapped his fingers lightly on the armrest as he processed Lucy Campbell’s words.

Soone like Lucy Campbell wouldn’t easily intervene for others, and if she did, it indicated a deep relationship.

Ordinarily, with her personally making a call, he would have no choice but to endure it.

But Lucy Campbell also stated she didn’t mind if they confronted Jas Brown directly, which suggested she had imnse confidence in Jas’s abilities.

“Since you’re so confident, I might as well go along with it.

If the Senior Advisor injures Jas Brown, she can’t bla .”

Although William Johnson had warned his son it was unwise to provoke the prominent families in the Capital of SSUP, their family had never had direct conflicts with them in recent years.

He was curious to test their strength against these elite families.

A small, non-damaging trial seed permissible.

Thus, William Johnson ultimately decided against calling back the Senior Advisor, letting him confront Jas Brown.

If Jas could be dealt with, it would be ideal; if not, there would be no significant loss.

At Lucy Campbell’s house, Lucy was smiling while looking at Jas Brown.

Jas, however, rolled his eyes at her and said, “Why do you finish things halfway?

Leaving loose ends like this—isn’t that intentionally causing trouble?”

Lucy chuckled softly and replied, “I think life’s too easy for you right now.

If you keep this up, your skills will get rusty.

So, I figured I’d give you sothing to keep you active.

Isn’t that a good thing?”

Jas pulled out a cigarette and was about to light it but ended up tossing it onto the coffee table.

Lucy looked at him curiously and said, “What’s wrong?

Don’t like smoking these anymore?”

Jas smiled bitterly and said, “It’s not that I don’t like them.

I’m just considering quitting, as I’ve been thinking about having a child in a while.”

Lucy raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, “So soon you’re planning for kids?”

Jas shrugged and said, “I’m not in a hurry, but Gina’s parents keep urging us.

Besides, we’re not young anymore.

Might as well have one.”

Talking about kids made Jas think of lody Yoody.

She was already carrying his child, and it was a child that had to be born.

The thought of being unable to take responsibility for her weighed heavily on him.

He picked up the cigarette again and lit it.

“Why are you smoking again?” Lucy asked, puzzled.

Jas let out a sigh and said, “Let’s hold off on the idea for now.”

“That’s not like you,” Lucy remarked.

Jas looked at Lucy and said, “Lucy, I’m currently stuck in a tough situation and need your advice.”

“It must be about relationships,” Lucy teased with a playful smile.

Jas nodded and said, “I’m married to Gina now, and since I said ‘I do,’ I want to live a good life with her.

But now lody is pregnant with my child.

If she loses the baby, she won’t be able to have children ever again.

So she has to give birth.”

Lucy furrowed her brows.

Jas marrying Gina already gave her headaches.

Now, with lody carrying his child, being with Jas beca even more complicated.

“What do *you* want to do?” Lucy asked, eting Jas’s gaze.

Jas took a puff of his cigarette and said, “I’m honestly torn.

Normally, since lody is my first love, I think I should be with her.

But I’m already married to Gina, and divorcing her doesn’t feel right.”

“Have you considered how Gina might feel if she finds out you and lody have a child together?”

“She would definitely feel conflicted.”

“Don’t you think Gina would be heartbroken?”

Jas froze.

He really hadn’t thought about that.

Ever since marrying Gina, she had been incredibly tolerant of him and his entanglents with other won.

So Jas rarely considered her feelings of hurt.

“No matter what you decide, soone will be hurt.

But it seems that being with lody might hurt fewer people in the end,” Lucy remarked.

“Why?”

“If you stay with Gina, lody will have to raise the child without a father—that would hurt her deeply.

And Gina, sooner or later, would find out you have a child with lody.

Would she feel good or accept it easily?

But if you’re with lody, Gina will feel sad, no doubt, but at least lody won’t be in pain, and your child will have a father.

This way, you only hurt one person.”

Jas smoked two more puffs and sighed, “You’ve got a point, but asking Gina for a divorce—just the thought of it makes hesitate.”

Lucy chuckled lightly and said, “Then I can’t help you anymore.

Matters of the heart are complicated.

The best solution, though, would be to marry both Gina and lody.

That way, no one gets hurt.”

“Marry both?” Jas exclaid, eyes wide in disbelief as he stared at Lucy.

Lucy laughed, “Yes, it’s not entirely outrageous.

Plenty of influential families have arrangents like this.

My second uncle has four wives, and my third uncle has three.”

Jas rubbed his nose awkwardly and muttered, “That… seems a bit ridiculous, doesn’t it?”

“It depends on how you approach it.

Nothing is truly impossible for a determined person.

If you’re serious about it, I can even help.

I’d ensure they both have legitimate statuses.

The main thing, though, is whether you can handle them both personally and navigate getting their families to agree.”

“That sounds incredibly challenging,” Jas replied with a wry smile.

When it ca to matters of the heart, Jas felt utterly out of his depth.

“What’s this?

You’re backing down from a challenge now?” Lucy teased, looking at Jas provocatively.

Straightening up his posture, Jas puffed out his chest.

Ever since joining the Hawk Squad, he had never been intimidated by any difficulty, no matter how dangerous.

Seeing this, Lucy’s eyes sparkled.

What she admired most about Jas was his unyielding masculinity.

But no sooner had Jas lifted his chest than his shoulders sank back down as he sighed, “Even if I were facing a hundred hitn, it’d be easier than dealing with this.”

Lucy couldn’t help laughing, both exasperated and amused.

“You’re not wrong.

Even in bullet storms, you never flinched.

But when it cos to won, you suddenly beco a dithering little man.”

Jas chuckled nervously and said, “Ah, the famous saying is true—’the tender trap is a hero’s grave.’ Dealing with won is the toughest thing in the world.

Otherwise, why would so many ancient emperors lose their kingdoms over them?”

Lucy couldn’t help but laugh lodiously.

“Then why not beco a true hero?

Won, after all, are just the accompanint to a hero’s life.

Think of all the classic tales of heroes and beauties.

If you’re too caught up in it, you’ll lose your heroic spirit.

Adjust your mindset—stop taking won so seriously, and you won’t feel this overwheld.”

Jas gave Lucy a strange look and said, “You’re a woman too, you know.

Your perspective is… unexpected.”

Lucy t his gaze squarely and said softly, “If there were a man I truly loved, I’d willingly be his supporting role.”

“No way.

With your status and position, what man could possibly be better than you?”

“Being better or not doesn’t matter.

What matters is whether he can make fall for him, make willing to give sothing up.

I, too, would love to be a demure woman, following my beloved man around—making him coffee when he works, massaging his shoulders when he’s tired, resting on his chest at night…” As she spoke, Lucy’s eyes grew dreamy, though they never left Jas’s.

Jas chuckled awkwardly and said, “If there’s really such a lucky guy, he’d be blessed for sure.

But, um… can you not look at like that?

It makes feel like that lucky guy is .”

Lucy’s eyes sparkled as she focused on him, offering a radiant smile.

“Why not?

You et my standards pretty well.”
