42: Chapter 41: Greedy for Food 42: Chapter 41: Greedy for Food Jas laughed sheepishly and said, “Yes, yes, I’ve been working hard all along and absolutely not riding on your coattails.”

Gina Lopez gave Jas a cold stare before turning to Sarah, “Little Erin, what’s wrong with you?”

Sarah hesitated, not daring to speak, but Jessica Wilson imdiately said, “Mr.

Lopez, earlier Secretary Johnson called Little Erin over.

Then he tried to harass her, and Little Lee went to help Little Erin.

Secretary Johnson really went too far.

How are we supposed to work like this?”

Jessica had been holding back her frustrations, but she usually had no opportunity to complain.

Today, Gina Lopez happened to co to the logistics departnt, and she spilled everything about Douglas’s vile actions in detail.

The more Gina listened, the more upset she looked.

As soon as Jessica finished speaking, Gina imdiately said, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of this for you.” She then stord out of the office, the rapid tapping of her high heels on the floor indicating just how angry she was.

Then, the neighboring deputy minister’s office door opened and closed.

No one heard what Gina said inside.

Jessica clenched her fist excitedly, “That’s so satisfying.

Ms.

Lopez will definitely take care of that jerk.

It would be best if she just kicked him out of the company.”

By then, Sarah felt better too, knowing Ms.

Lopez was defending her.

She no longer felt so wronged, especially since she hadn’t suffered much after all.

After about ten minutes, Gina returned to the logistics departnt and said, “Little Erin, don’t worry, he won’t dare to do it again.”

Little Erin quickly said, “Thank you, Ms.

Lopez.”

Gina replied apologetically, “Don’t thank .

I should be the one apologizing.

It’s my fault my employees can’t work normally because of these issues.

Next, I’ll have Minister Johnson thoroughly establish an office system managed by your departnt.

If any harassnt happens again, no matter who it is, I will fire them straight away.”

Jas imdiately asked, “So you’re not firing that guy this ti?”

Gina frowned slightly, “There’s no specific policy in place now, so firing him wouldn’t be justified.” Deep down, she felt frustrated.

Naturally, she would have liked to fire Douglas right away, but his backing was very powerful, and she really couldn’t just fire him now.

Gina despised such individuals deeply, but she was currently running a company worth nearly a hundred million in assets and had to consider all aspects.

So things weren’t as simple as just wanting them done; it was an inevitable disappointnt for Gina.

After Gina left, the three of them started packing up to leave, but just then, Douglas walked in, his face livid, glaring fiercely at Jas, “You’ve got guts, kid.

Just you wait.”

Jas continued packing his things as if he hadn’t heard Douglas, then said to Jessica and Sarah, “Ms.

Wilson, Sarah, let’s go.”

Jas was blatantly ignoring Douglas, a barefaced display of contempt, making Douglas’s face grow even uglier.

Grinding his teeth, he sneered, “You’ll see, kid.

If I don’t get you out of this company within a month, my na isn’t Johnson.” He stord off after his remark.

Sarah imdiately expressed her worry, “Mr.

Brown, what are we going to do?”

Jas smiled lightly and replied, “This company isn’t his.

What’s there to be afraid of?

If he wants to drive out, he’ll have to wait.”

“Really?

Nothing will happen?” Sarah looked at Jas, half in disbelief.

“Of course, nothing will happen.

Let’s go.

Don’t forget, Ms.

Lopez is the boss here.

If you don’t have confidence in anyone else, shouldn’t you still have confidence in Ms.

Lopez?

As long as I work hard, Ms.

Lopez won’t let him succeed.”

ntioning Gina, Sarah and Jessica were instantly reassured.

In this company, Ms.

Lopez was everyone’s mainstay.

Indeed, it was unheard of for anyone doing well to just switch jobs.

When Jas got ho, just as he was about to open his door, he rembered a promise he had made to the flight attendant, so he knocked on the neighbor’s door first.

After several knocks with no response, likely indicating no one was ho, Jas returned inside, quickly tidied up a bit, and began preparing dinner.

Just as dinner was ready, there was a knock at the door.

Jas went to open it and saw his flight attendant neighbor.

Today, she wasn’t in her uniform but in a beige sweater and jeans, her sweater stretching impressively across her chest.

Looking at the size, they had to be at least D cup.

“Wow, slls amazing!” the flight attendant didn’t address the main issue, but sniffed vigorously, looking utterly tantalized.

Jas couldn’t help grinning and said, “I just finished cooking.

Would you like to co in and join ?”

“Is that okay?” The flight attendant seed a bit embarrassed but clearly eager to join.

Finding it amusing, especially how wary the flight attendant had been yesterday compared to her reduced guard now that there was food, Jas stepped aside, “Then co on in and eat; I think there’s enough for both of us.”

A bit sheepish but still following, the flight attendant entered.

Jas offered her a pair of slippers, “Aren’t you afraid I might have intentions, coming so casually into my ho?”

The flight attendant stiffened for a mont, then stuck out her tongue playfully, “What kind of person with intentions would admit it?

I think, Big Brother, you’re just a good guy.”

Jas laughed heartily, “Then you got it wrong.

I am a bad guy.”

“I don’t believe that.

A bad guy would never admit he’s bad.” While talking, she had already put on the slippers and asked, “Big Brother, is your wife not at ho?”

“I live alone and am not married,” Jas replied offhandedly, heading straight for the dining table.

“Then why do you have female slippers here?”

“These slippers were left by the previous owner, and I didn’t throw them away.”

“Oh…” The flight attendant walked over to the dining table where Jas Brown added so rice to her bowl, saying, “Eat up.”

“Wow, so much delicious food, Big Brother, you’re amazing, you can even cook.” The flight attendant picked up her chopsticks and started eating imdiately, and at an extrely fast pace.

Jas was taken aback by the flight attendant and said with a laugh, “How many days have you not eaten?”

The flight attendant paused for a mont, tilted her head, and said, “It seems like two days.”

“Two days?” Jas was shocked by what the flight attendant had said.

“Yeah, these two days I’ve been eating instant noodles.”

Jas suddenly felt dumbfounded, realizing that when the flight attendant said she hadn’t eaten, she didn’t include instant noodles.

“By the way, Big Brother, what should I call you?” The flight attendant finished a bowl of rice, and after Jas added another bowl for her, she slowed down her eating pace and looked up at Jas.

Jas smiled and said, “My na is Jas Brown, and I think I’ve told you once.”

“Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention then.” The flight attendant stuck her tongue out again, saying, “My na is Emily Jenkins.”

“Hmm, that’s a nice na.”

“Hehe, it seems like every man who hears my na says it’s nice, but I really don’t see what’s so great about it.”

Jas couldn’t help but sweat a little and said, “I guess everyone thinks you’re pretty, so they feel compelled to complint a beautiful woman.”

Emily Jenkins laughed shyly and said, “I didn’t choose to look this way, there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Emily’s every word often surprised Jas, and it was also quite amusing.

He said, “What’s wrong with being pretty?

Nowadays, so many people even get plastic surgery for beauty.”

Emily pouted and said, “Being pretty ans a lot of people will try to take advantage of you.

I would rather be an ugly monster, then no one would care about , and I could do whatever I wanted.”

Jas really regarded Emily more highly now.

This girl actually had such thoughts, which ant she wasn’t a vain person, and perhaps that’s why she was so beautiful and still working as a flight attendant.

In no ti, the three dishes on the table were polished off by both of them.

The food was originally enough for Jas alone, but he had offered it to Emily out of politeness, not realizing she would actually co to eat and consu more than half, leaving Jas only partly sated.

“Big Brother Brown, you eat so little, even less than I do.” After finishing the al, Emily shook her head and comnted.

Jas was sowhat speechless, clearly he hadn’t eaten enough, but he was too lazy to explain.

Standing up, he said, “Let’s go, I’ll help you nail the nails, so you don’t keep awake at night again.”

“Hehe, thanks, Big Brother Brown.” Emily playfully stuck out her tongue at Jas, then ran ahead to change her shoes, opened the door, and set off to open her own door.

Jas then entered Emily’s apartnt, which was larger than his, with two bedrooms and a living room, unlike his single-bedroom setup.

But as soon as he entered, the only impression Jas had was “ssy.”

Clothes were strewn on the living room sofa here and there, the coffee table was piled with a bunch of snacks and such, and there were several nails on the floor.

“Do you live here alone?” Jas asked puzzledly as he entered.

“Yeah, what about it?” Emily answered briskly.

Jas pointed inside the living room and said, “It feels like you live with a dozen people.”

Emily imdiately stuck out her tongue shyly and said, “And here I just cleaned up.”

Jas felt a wave of dismay; if this was what it looked like after cleaning, he couldn’t imagine what it would look like otherwise.

However, Jas had no right to judge Emily’s lifestyle.

Picking up a few nails from the ground, he asked, “Where’s the hamr?”

“I don’t have one.”

“What did you use to nail yesterday?”

“This.” Emily brought out a candy box, which was all dented.

Jas’s eyes widened and he twitched, saying, “I’ll go back and get so tools.” Then he turned and walked out.

No wonder this girl spent half the night nailing yesterday—using a candy box as a hamr would take a year to work.

It was a good thing he ca over to help her, otherwise, she might end up keeping him awake every night.
