She hurriedly asked, “Brother-in-law, where are you going?”
Jas Brown replied, “I have sothing to take care of.
I’ll be back shortly.”
“Hey, wait for !
I’ll go with you.”
“I’ll be back soon.
Let your sister know.” With that, Jas Brown closed the security door behind him.
“Stupid brother-in-law, going out without taking along.” Emily Lopez stomped her foot, but it was too late to chase after him.
She could only wait for Jas Brown to return.
Gina Lopez also walked out of the bedroom at this mont and asked, “Where did your brother-in-law go?”
Emily Lopez pursed her lips and said, “He didn’t say.
Probably went to et so sweetheart or sothing.”
Gina Lopez frowned slightly and said, “He might have sothing urgent to handle.
Don’t talk nonsense about your brother-in-law.”
Emily Lopez hugged her sister’s arm and giggled, saying, “See?
Now that you’re married, you’re already standing up for your husband!”
Gina Lopez gave Emily Lopez a light scolding, but inside, her thoughts started swirling.
It was so late, and Jas Brown ran off, not saying a word.
Hmph, probably eting that Emma Campbell, lody Yoody, or even Helen Wilson.
Her heart felt unsettled, but Gina Lopez didn’t express it outwardly.
She had to give Jas Brown so space; otherwise, it would only deepen the rift between them.
Yet, she knew this kind of tolerance would cause her pain for a while.
About ten minutes later, Jas Brown arrived at the entrance of M Hotel.
Alice Brown was anxiously waiting at the door and, upon seeing Jas, rushed over to grab his arm, saying urgently, “Mr.
Smith, Laura has been taken to Room 502.
She’s been inside for over twenty minutes now, and we don’t know what’s happened.”
Jas Brown nodded and said, “Follow inside.”
“Mr.
Smith, there are quite a few people in there.
I think so of them are shady types—not good people.
Shouldn’t we bring so reinforcents?” Alice Brown quickly grabbed hold of Jas.
“No need.” Jas Brown replied coolly and continued walking inside.
“Mr.
Smith, don’t act rashly!” Alice Brown panicked.
Laura’s situation was already worrying enough, but Jas heading in recklessly could lead to trouble.
If sothing really happened, wouldn’t she be the one to bla?
“Don’t worry.
I’m enough by myself.” Jas Brown patted Alice’s hand lightly and offered her a reassuring smile.
Jas Brown’s smile instantly cald Alice Brown’s nerves.
Though she didn’t know where his confidence ca from, one thing was certain: when Jas Brown set his mind to sothing, he never failed.
She quickly followed after him as they hurried into the lobby.
The guard at the door noticed their urgency and imdiately stopped them, asking, “Are you two here to book a room?”
Alice Brown quickly responded, “We’re here to find soone.”
“If you’re looking for soone, you need to register at the front desk.
Wait…
Alice Brown?” The guard finally recognized her and called out excitedly.
Alice Brown flashed him a smile and said, “Yes, I’m in a hurry.
Could you please help us out?”
The guard hastily summoned the elevator for her.
Alice Brown was his dream woman—a hostess no less!
There was no way she’d co here just to stir up trouble, right?
Admittedly, Alice Brown retained so degree of fa here in YODC City.
Many people admired her.
Take the ti she attended a wedding alongside Laura—it had been quite a notable occasion.
But that kind of recognition was limited to YODC City.
If she went to City Center or the Capital of SSUP, she wouldn’t even rank.
The two of them took the elevator to the fifth floor and arrived at Room 502.
The door was ajar, and a group of people stepped out from inside.
“Director Jackson, it’s about ti.
Enjoy yourself fully.” A burly man in his thirties, tattooed with sturdy arms and a gleaming bald head, exuded an intimidating aura as he laughed maliciously at John Smith with a lecherous grin on his face.
John Smith also laughed heartily and said, “Then I won’t hold back.
Go back and tell Olivia Robinson that I’ll make good on my promise to her.”
“Alright, alright.
I knew Director Jackson was a man of his word.
We’ll leave you to it—enjoy yourself!” The burly man burst into laughter again before preparing to leave.
At that mont, Jas Brown and Alice Brown arrived.
Observing the situation, they deduced that Laura hadn’t yet gotten into serious trouble.
Alice breathed a sigh of relief.
However, John Smith noticed Jas Brown and his expression imdiately changed—he hadn’t expected Jas Brown to show up.
“Mark Davis, wait!
I need a favor from you,” John Smith called out to the bald man before he could leave.
Mark Davis stopped and asked, “Director Jackson, what do you need?”
John Smith turned his gaze to Jas Brown and said, “There’s a pesky little punk trying to ruin my plans.
Do a favor and take care of him.”
Mark Davis looked at Jas Brown and laughed loudly, “No problem.
Consider it done.” With that, he and his two henchn walked straight toward Jas Brown.
John Smith crossed his arms, leaning against the doorway, and sneered at Jas, “You’re like a ghost that won’t go away.”
Jas Brown shot him a cold glance, not breaking stride as he headed directly for the doorway.
“Stop right there, punk!” Mark Davis blocked Jas Brown’s path, his hulking fra effectively cutting off his route.
Jas Brown narrowed his eyes and said, “Move.”
Mark Davis laughed, finding it utterly ridiculous.
He, Mark Davis, was sobody—yet this guy dared tell him to move?
It was the funniest thing he’d heard.
“Ha!
Think you’re tough, punk?
I’m staying right here.
What are you gonna do about it?”
Alice Brown began to panic again, pulling at Jas’s arm while shouting at John Smith, “John Smith, you’re a well-known director, yet you resort to such despicable actions.
Do you realize that if this gets exposed, your future will be ruined?”
John Smith laughed unrestrainedly, “I’ve used the casting couch with plenty of actresses, yet my future has never been ruined.
But your little threat just gave an idea—maybe I should use this scandal to stir up so hype.”
“You’re utterly shaless!” Alice was fuming, clenching her fists tightly.
“I’ve already called the police.
They’ll be here in five minutes.”
John Smith sneered, “Good.
If you’re not afraid of blowing this up, I’m not either.
Go ahead and call the police.”
For a female celebrity, being exposed for sothing like this would an the end of her career.
Alice, being a hostess, understood this all too well.
That was why John Smith didn’t believe Alice would truly alert the authorities.
Jas Brown had already lost patience.
He had no intention of wasting ti with these people.
As he stepped toward the doorway, Mark Davis glared at him, reached out to shove at Jas’s chest, and bellowed, “Punk, are you looking to die?
Don’t think I’m just here to look pretty.”
But before his words finished, his massive body had already lifted off the ground, flying backward before skidding over two ters along the floor.
He finally ca to a stop.
Jas Brown had made a sudden move, startling everyone.
The key point was that nobody had anticipated him striking out this way.
Without stopping, Jas punched the stomach of a henchman to his left, causing the man’s body to bend over like a shrimp.
Another one, still frozen in shock, was imdiately swept off his feet by a kick to his shin, sending him flying horizontally to the floor like a sack of potatoes, landing with a dull thud.
Within monts, Jas had taken out all three n.
John Smith’s grin froze on his face as he watched Jas approach.
With a startled cry, he spun around and darted into the room, attempting to shut the door behind him.
But before it could close halfway, Jas delivered a ferocious kick, its force far beyond anything John had anticipated.
Caught off guard, the rebounding door edge smashed directly into John’s face.
With a blood-curdling scream, he stumbled back, blood spurting from his nose as he fell.
Alice, witnessing the scene, was dumbfounded.
She knew Jas Brown was influential—being a prominent figure from the Capital of SSUP—but she had never expected him to possess such formidable combat skills.
The sheer dominance he exhibited in flooring three brawny n within seconds left her astonished.
Especially seeing the sorry state of John Smith added to Jas’s overwhelming presence.
For a mont, Alice’s gaze toward Jas Brown burned with ardor.
His stature in her eyes seed more imposing and heroic than ever.
“Close the door,” Jas said calmly.
“Got it!” Alice snapped out of her daze and quickly shut the door before following him inside.
“W-What are you doing?” John Smith clutched his bleeding nose, his fear overpowering his pain.
Jas’s sheer strength made him dread what was coming next.
Gone was the arrogance and bravado of a famous director.
Jas Brown cornered John against the wall, grabbed him by the collar, and hoisted him up.
His feet dangled off the ground, his face turning deep red.
Desperately, John clawed at Jas’s hands, kicking frantically, but no matter how he struggled, he couldn’t break free.
Alice watched as John Smith’s complexion shifted from red to blue, his eyeballs bulging.
She was horrified.
If this continued, Jas would undoubtedly kill him.
And while John was undoubtedly scum, his profile as a well-known director made such an act extrely complicated, even for soone with Jas’s powerful background.
She hurried to Jas’s side and pleaded softly, “Don’t kill him.”
