349: Chapter 356: Helen Wilson ets the Mysterious Figure Again 349: Chapter 356: Helen Wilson ets the Mysterious Figure Again Helen Wilson had to work overti until past eight o’clock tonight before she, exhausted, drove back to her residential community.
But at this mont, she was extrely tense.
With William Armstrong having escaped, this posed a significant threat.
She believed that Armstrong would certainly not let her off the hook.
Even so, walking inside her community did not allow her to relax a bit, and it wasn’t until she opened her front door and entered her ho that she breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as she was about to turn on the lights, she suddenly felt a sense of crisis, and then saw a dark shadow pounce towards her.
Although Helen Wilson was shocked, she did not panic; she ducked down and twisted her body, delivering a kick to the assailant’s abdon.
Helen Wilson had been exercising strenuously recently and her martial arts skills had improved significantly.
She kicked out not only with plenty of force but also with considerable speed.
She believed that under such circumstances, there wouldn’t be many in the entire Public Security System of YODC City who could dodge her kick.
However, the opponent’s ability to avoid it was extraordinary; a simple twist of their body was all it took to sidestep her kick, and without losing montum, a palm strike ca slashing towards her neck.
Helen Wilson, greatly alard, rolled on the spot and passed right by the person, narrowly avoiding the palm strike.
But even having avoided the strike, Helen Wilson was sweating; these few exchanges told her that the opponent was far too strong for her to contend with.
After rolling away, she quickly stood up and took a defensive stance, though her mind was now thinking about how to escape.
However, the assailant did not continue attacking.
With a “click,” the lights in the room suddenly turned on.
“Ah!
It’s you!” Helen Wilson squinted her eyes, adjusting to the light in the room, and when she saw who it was, she couldn’t help but exclaim with surprise and joy.
The person who ca was none other than the mysterious figure who had saved Helen Wilson twice before—Jas Brown.
To improve Helen Wilson’s abilities, Jas Brown felt that it was better to use this alter ego; otherwise, with his actual identity, it would be sowhat inconvenient.
“Not bad, great improvent.” Jas Brown’s face was expressionless, but he still nodded in approval.
“Thank you!
I’ve been practicing diligently every day with what you taught last ti.” Seeing this mysterious figure, Helen Wilson was overjoyed, especially since her worries today had by now completely vanished from her mind.
With the mysterious figure present, even if William Armstrong’s brother brought with him nurous people, she believed that the mysterious figure could handle them.
Jas Brown nodded again and said, “Hmm, I can see that.
You’ve been very serious about it, and my teachings have not been in vain.”
Helen Wilson took two steps forward, speaking excitedly, “This…
you’ve helped so much, and I still don’t know how to address you.”
“A na is just a label, it doesn’t matter what you call .”
“But you must have a na, can’t you tell ?”
“Heh, then you might as well call Eagle.”
“Eagle…” Helen Wilson raised her eyebrows, but she knew that the other party did not want to reveal their true identity, and she suspected that even insisting would not make him agree, “Then can you tell why you want to help ?”
“At first, it was just a chance encounter.
Later, I felt that you were a decent police officer, so I decided to give you a hand.”
“Thank you for the complint, but now I’m facing a troubleso situation…”
“You an the thing with William Armstrong…such a minor issue is better resolved by yourself.”
“But the opponent is very powerful, and it’s quite likely they’ll resort to assassination or the like.
I just don’t have much confidence in myself.”
“Confidence is sothing you develop.
You will never have confidence if you don’t go through so things.
I’ll now teach you sothing; if you learn it, you should have no problem dealing with them.”
“Can I really learn it in ti at this juncture?” Helen Wilson looked at the mysterious figure in front of her in surprise.
“That depends on how perceptive you are.
I don’t have much ti, so you’d better not waste it on other matters.”
“Okay!” Helen Wilson tightened her focus and imdiately refrained from asking further questions.
For her, this was a rare opportunity, and she didn’t want to waste a single mont on other issues.
She was curious about the identity of the mysterious figure, but there would always be a chance to find out in the future.
Both of them sat down in the living room, and Jas Brown explained to Helen Wilson so knowledge about assassination, which one certainly can’t learn in police college.
Helen Wilson listened intently, making notes from ti to ti.
Jas Brown’s explanations were very detailed.
Once you know the thods of assassination, it’s easier to guard against them.
In reality, there are many different thods to carry out an assassination, but Jas Brown could only convey so thods commonly used by the S Organization for now.
Every organization in the world has its strengths, and Jas Brown had thoroughly studied them.
Knowing the adversary’s strengths allowed him to prepare in advance, which is one of the reasons he hadn’t failed once throughout these years.
Being strong doesn’t grant soone the power to dominate the world.
Although Jas Brown’s capabilities were strong enough, he was very clear that even the strongest of people, if they can’t properly handle their opponents, could be killed by soone much weaker than themselves.
With that said, over an hour passed before Jas finally stopped talking.
Helen Wilson listened so intently she was entranced.
Only now did she understand how superficial the knowledge she had acquired at the police academy was and that there was so much she, as a police officer, had never been exposed to.
“If you have any questions, ask now,” Jas didn’t leave imdiately, instead, he sat quietly and watched Helen.
Helen, after mulling it over, imdiately started asking questions with her booklet, to which Jas gave detailed explanations.
Another hour went by and Jas stood up to leave, followed by Helen.
Knowing that Jas was about to leave, she truly didn’t want him to go.
Biting her lip, she said, “Could I ask you a question?”
“Sure!”
“By helping like this, do you want sothing from …?
I know you’re very powerful, and I’m nothing in your eyes.
But if you have any demands of , just go ahead and ask.”
At that mont, a strange thought suddenly crossed Jas’s mind, and staring at Helen, he slowly said, “I want you to be my woman.”
Helen’s body stiffened imdiately, her face showing considerable discomfort.
Clenching her teeth, she said, “If you had asked this a month ago, I would have agreed.
But I’ve got a man recently.”
“That Jas Brown guy?
A lousy kid.
Because of him, you won’t agree to ?”
Helen was startled—she didn’t expect this Mysterious Figure to know about Jas.
She was really afraid that the Mysterious Figure, in a fit of rage, would kill Jas.
She hurriedly said, “He has no feelings for , and I have no feelings for him either.
Us being together was an accident.”
Jas replied indifferently, “If that’s the case, I don’t care whether you’re a virgin or not.
What other concerns do you have?”
“This…” Helen’s face changed colors several tis before she finally shook her head and said, “I’m sorry, I really cannot agree to your request.
You’ve shown kindness, and I, Helen Wilson, should indeed repay you, but I can’t use my body as a bargaining chip.
If it’s anything else that doesn’t violate the law, I’ll agree to it.”
Jas hadn’t actually expected Helen to answer in such a manner.
He gazed at her for a while before saying, “You won’t regret it?”
“I won’t regret it!” Helen bit her lip and forced out those four words.
She knew that by saying them, the Mysterious Figure might never help her again, but if she agreed, the powerful Mysterious Figure might always be there to assist her, ensuring she wouldn’t face danger in her lifeti.
With his help, she would certainly achieve great rit and thrive in the police world.
But she just couldn’t agree.
She couldn’t explain why—before, she had held this Mysterious Figure in great esteem, and not to ntion going to bed with him, she would have agreed to anything.
However, after being with Jas Brown in bed, she couldn’t agree anymore.
The gaze of the Mysterious Figure caused Helen to feel deeply uneasy; she even found it difficult to et his eyes.
But still, she bit the bullet and made herself hold his gaze without backing down or looking away.
Just as Helen felt she could no longer bear the Mysterious Figure’s intense stare, Jas nodded and said, “Good, you didn’t disappoint .”
Helen exclaid with a “Ah,” pleasantly surprised, “You were testing ?”
“Not exactly a test.
If you had agreed, of course that would be best.
If not, whether I help you or not is up to fate,” Jas replied.
The joy on Helen’s face disappeared instantly, without the Mysterious Figure’s help, it ant she had lost a significant source of support.
Her lips moved, but she couldn’t bring herself to agree.
As the Mysterious Figure was already at the door, Helen suddenly called out, “Wait!”
Jas turned around and asked, “What is it?
Made up your mind?”
Helen’s lips were pale from biting them, and then, looking into Jas’s eyes, she said, “I agree with you, but it’s not for your help.
It’s to ask you to protect soone.
Can you do that?”
Jas was taken aback, speaking slowly, “You agree, not for yourself, but for soone else?”
“That’s right!” Helen took a deep breath and said, “I want you to protect Jas Brown.
If you can protect him, then I’ll agree to your terms.”
Jas’s mouth twitched involuntarily.
Even though he had sensed that Helen was referring to him, hearing her say it still deeply shocked him.
He hadn’t anticipated Helen would make such a huge sacrifice for him.
“You’re doing this for a man, a man who doesn’t like you.
Is it worth it?” Jas asked in a raspy voice.
“I don’t expect him to like .
This guy might be frivolous and womanizing, but he has shared life and death monts with , stood by during difficult tis, and the dangers that have co this ti are also because he helped .
I can’t let him be in danger.
I know I can’t be with him forever; he has his own woman, so I’ll exchange my body for his lifelong safety,” Helen said, smoothly listing Jas’s faults at first but her eyes softened as she spoke, and her words seed to drift into a dreamlike state.
Seeing Helen like this left Jas at a loss whether to laugh or cry.
He only wanted to tease her, but unexpectedly, he discovered that Helen’s feelings for him were so profound.
