319: Chapter 327 Misunderstanding 319: Chapter 327 Misunderstanding Sunny Nguyen and Jas Brown didn’t speak in the cafe.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to say anything, but when she went to find Jas Brown, he had already disappeared.

It wasn’t until she ca out that she saw Jas Brown in the car.

“Why didn’t you wait for ?” Sunny sat in the passenger seat, fastening her seatbelt while looking at Jas Brown and asking.

Jas Brown put out his cigarette and said with a smile, “I saw so many people in the cafe supporting you.

If I had shown up, wouldn’t that have led them to gossip and affect your image score?”

Sunny gave Jas Brown a look and said, “Do you think I care about how they see ?” She then laughed sarcastically and said, “In their eyes, I’m probably just a cast-off wife, an ex-wife who can’t let go.”

Jas Brown took Sunny’s hand and said with a smile, “When others attack you, getting angry or sad ans they’ve achieved their goal and made themselves happy.

What you need to do is not to let them achieve their goal, not to let them be pleased.”

Sunny, facing Jas Brown’s gaze, slowly curved her lips upward and then suddenly burst into laughter, saying, “You’re right, that woman indeed wants to make angry, wants to make sad.

What else could I do at this mont to make her uncomfortable if not be happy?”

“Exactly, precisely because Sunny is Sunny, so shrewd.”

“Stop flattering .

Thank you for making feel better.

Now co with to change my household registration.”

Jas Brown drove Sunny to the police station, and as soon as the car stopped, they saw Helen Wilson.

This station was indeed managed by Helen Wilson.

Although she was about to get promoted, the smuggling case hadn’t concluded yet.

It had to be wrapped up before she could truly be comnded and promoted.

“What are you doing here?” Seeing Sunny holding a household register, Helen Wilson glared at Jas Brown with disapproval.

Many people co to the station carrying household registers, but it’s usually young couples who are here to handle household registration following a marriage.

Sunny was no little girl.

From Helen Wilson’s unfriendly gaze, she imdiately perceived sothing unusual and, holding the household register, said to Helen Wilson, “Officer Monaghan is here, that’s great.

We’re here to deal with household registration.

Could you give us a hand?”

Helen Wilson’s expression turned even darker, and Sunny’s words made her think in that direction even more.

She couldn’t believe that Jas Brown, that scoundrel, was going to marry Sunny.

She glared fiercely at Jas Brown and said, “I never take shortcuts.

Just go inside and proceed with the normal procedures with the office staff.”

“Officer Monaghan, what’s gotten into you?

You seem to be in a bit of a mood.” Sunny deliberately provoked Helen Wilson, saying, “It seems you and Jas get along quite well.

Why can’t you help him out with this little thing?”

Jas Brown realized a problem lately.

It seed that the won he had been in contact with, as long as they t each other, would inevitably clash.

However, in the presence of these two won, both of whom had been involved with him, he wisely chose to say nothing to avoid adding fuel to the fire.

Helen Wilson wasn’t as crafty as Sunny.

During investigations, she did show so intelligence, but when it ca to playing mind gas, Sunny could easily outstrip her by a mile.

Helen Wilson had only recently got involved with Jas Brown, and even though she might verbally deny any relationship with him and didn’t plan anything further with him, it would naturally be hard for her to see him marry another woman, a sentint she unconsciously exhibited on her face.

Therefore, her words to Sunny were far from kind.

“What would make my mood bad?

I’m in a great mood.

I’m just reminding you to be careful; this man is unreliable.

You might want to think twice about it.”

Sunny almost burst out laughing, but she held it in and pretended to be oblivious, saying, “Not at all, Jas is quite nice, isn’t he?

Didn’t you and Jas work on a case together not long ago, Officer Monaghan?

How could you abandon him so quickly?”

Helen Wilson said irritably, “That was official business and has nothing to do with what I’ve said.

I’ve said my piece; believe it or not, it’s up to you.”

After finishing her words, she turned and walked into the police station, ignoring Jas Brown and Sunny.

Once Helen Wilson was inside, Sunny finally couldn’t help but laugh, then winked at Jas Brown and said, “Jas, you and Officer Monaghan seem to have a rather special relationship?”

Jas Brown knew Helen Wilson’s behavior had given her away to Sunny.

He didn’t deny it and chuckled, “It’s alright.”

“Look at the jealousy she was showing just now.

Alright?

I think you guys must have…

a relationship that goes beyond friendship.”

Jas Brown candidly said, “That’s correct, but I guess it was just an accident, not sothing to make a big deal out of.”

“Sure, you n always say that, eat your fill and then wipe your mouth clean, as if nothing happened.”

“Well, I’m not exactly denying it…” Jas Brown said and felt sowhat guilty about his words, thinking that if he really had to take responsibility for everything, he wouldn’t know how many won would be involved in his life.

The thought alone was overwhelming.

“Look at you, who knows how many bad things you’ve done.” Sunny Nguyen pouted, then tugged on Jas Brown, saying, “Alright, I don’t care about your ssy affairs, follow to get the job done.”

Jas Brown obediently followed Sunny Nguyen to the police station.

There weren’t many people there, so they quickly completed the household registration and then left.

However, as soon as Helen Wilson saw the two leave, she imdiately went to the household registration staff, cleared her throat, and asked, “What did those two co here for?”

The registrar was a year older than Helen Wilson, also a girl, but had been working there for nearly two years, and was still just a registrar, while Helen Wilson hadn’t even been there a year, yet she had beco the director.

The registrar admired Helen Wilson, but also couldn’t help feeling so jealousy.

Still, Helen Wilson’s promotion was entirely deserved, so there was no ground for complaint.

“Director Lewis, those two ca to register their residence.”

“Register their residence.” Helen Wilson murmured softly to herself, looking even more upset.

“Director Lewis, could this be part of so big case?” The registrar’s eyes lit up, knowing that Helen Wilson had nurous accomplishnts—if this was another big case, and she could get involved, maybe she’d get recognized for her efforts too.

“Oh…

No, it’s not a case; I just had so suspicions.

Tell the details of their registration process,” Helen Wilson hadn’t planned to ask, but the registrar’s question left her with no choice but to respond as if trying to cover up her interest in Jas Brown.

“Oh, it’s like this, that woman transferred her registration from another location and then registered here in our area.”

The registrar explained the situation in detail, and after listening, the frown on Helen Wilson’s face eased.

It turned out that Sunny Nguyen was just registering herself, not with Jas Brown, aning they weren’t getting married, so her anger was unnecessary.

“Director Lewis, did you find sothing?” Seeing Helen Wilson’s suddenly joyful deanor, the registrar’s eyes shone even brighter.

Returning to her senses, Helen Wilson said, “I found that I was wrong, it’s just a routine registration.

I made a fuss over nothing.”

The registrar was visibly disappointed as she watched Helen Wilson leave.

Once back in her office, Helen Wilson promptly picked up the phone, intending to call Jas Brown and give him a piece of her mind for not explaining earlier, causing her such a misunderstanding.

But as soon as she had Jas Brown’s number ready to dial, she put the phone down again.

She had already told him that she didn’t want anything to do with him, and questioning him now would only make it seem like she was the one clinging to him.

“Hmph, who do I, Helen Wilson, think I am?

Why would I cling to you?

Don’t think just because we’ve been involved that I have to stick with you.

Be with whoever you want; I’m not going to chase after a fickle guy like you,” Helen Wilson huffed, her stubborn nature eliciting this response.

After returning to the company, Sunny Nguyen imdiately went to Gina Lopez’s office to recount the encounter with Helen Wilson.

After finishing her story, Sunny Nguyen said with so concern, “Gina, the relationship between Jas Brown and that Helen Wilson seems really out of the ordinary.

You need to be careful.”

Gina Lopez nodded and replied, “I know, but I, Gina Lopez, refuse to believe I’d lose to her.

Rest assured.”

Observing Gina Lopez’s confidence, Sunny Nguyen’s worry evaporated as she said, “Good that you have this confidence, but Jas Brown’s got too many won around him.

You’d better make a move sooner rather than later.”

Gina Lopez nodded, “I understand.” But inside she felt sowhat troubled.

She now admitted that she liked Jas Brown quite a lot, and she had no aversion to being with him.

However, as for flirting like other girls, she faced so internal barriers.

It wasn’t that she didn’t like Jas Brown, but she simply didn’t know how.

Moreover, as the CEO of a newly established company, she was swamped with work and wished she could double each minute—hardly having ti for romance.

Another concern was that Jas Brown still seed to hold so resistance towards her, keeping his distance, which frustrated her.

“Right, going ho this weekend to celebrate mom’s birthday might be a good opportunity, and perhaps it could advance our relationship,” she thought.

With that, Gina Lopez suddenly rembered that during this visit she would certainly have to share a room with Jas Brown.

And in that case…

could it be that sothing will truly happen between them, breaking the ice?
