293: Chapter 300: Eating at a Buffet 293: Chapter 300: Eating at a Buffet Half an hour later, Jas Brown had already driven to the entrance of Emma Campbell’s school in a company-owned rcedes, although it was the one assigned to Sunny Nguyen, as the Porsche was being used by Lucy Campbell.
Although the company owns several cars, Gina Lopez is very strict with the managent of official vehicles, so Jas Brown couldn’t just take a car out at will.
Gina Lopez and Sunny Nguyen do have cars assigned to them, but for Jas Brown to borrow a car from Gina Lopez to go out on a date would clearly be asking for trouble, Sunny Nguyen was easier to talk to.
Emma Campbell was together with her two roommates.
Jas Brown directly drove the car up to where they were, got out of the car after opening the door, and Emma Campbell imdiately walked up to him with a flushed face and said, “Big Brother Brown, you’re here.”
Jas Brown naturally took Emma Campbell’s hand and smiled, “I said I would co, so of course I ca.
By the way, aren’t you going to introduce to your two roommates?”
Emma Campbell quickly said, “This is Sarah Johnson, this is Emily Clarke, and there is another, Emily Johnson, whom you have t, but she couldn’t make it today because she had sothing to do.”
Jas Brown smiled and greeted the two of them, saying, “I’ve told Emma long ago that I wanted to treat you sisters to a al, but I’ve been a bit tied up with work recently and only managed to invite you now.
I hope you girls don’t mind.”
From the mont Jas Brown appeared, Emily Clarke and Sarah Johnson had been sizing him up.
Then Sarah Johnson said, “You really do look alike, no wonder Emma mistook that man for you that day.”
Jas Brown laughed, “Emma has told about it, I really should et this person who looks so much like when I have the chance.”
“Yes, yes, we really need to clear this up.
It’s one thing to mistake soone on the street, but if it happened in so special places and confused people…
that would be troubleso indeed.”
Emma Campbell imdiately felt very embarrassed and chided, “You guys are making fun of again.
I’m not talking to you anymore.”
“Don’t be like that.
If you don’t speak to us, who’s going to treat us to dinner tonight?”
Emily Clarke and Sarah Johnson giggled, and then they turned their attention back to the car.
Sarah Johnson exclaid dramatically, “Wow, a rcedes!
Emma, you’ve really caught yourself a golden bachelor this ti.”
Emily Clarke also said enviously, “Yeah, a rcedes!
I think this car must be around one million dollars at least.”
Jas Brown said with a smile, “This isn’t mine; I borrowed it from soone.
I don’t have that much money.”
“Really?” Emily Clarke and Sarah Johnson looked at Jas Brown with a skeptical gaze.
“Of course, it’s true.
I wouldn’t pretend to be richer than I am.
If sothing really happens and soone wants to borrow a car from but I can’t provide one, wouldn’t that be even more embarrassing?”
Emily Clarke and Sarah Johnson looked at Jas Brown with new respect.
Certainly, a man who appears able is more attractive to girls, but an honest man seems even rarer.
Nowadays, society is so restless, people without real strength try to show off as if they have it.
There aren’t many people like Jas Brown, but he indeed offers a sense of security.
All three of them got into the car, with Emma Campbell sitting in the passenger seat, while Emily Clarke and Sarah Johnson sat in the back.
Both girls are from ordinary families and couldn’t help looking around the car, curious and sowhat fascinated.
“Ladies, what would you like to eat tonight?” Jas Brown started the car and slowly turned his head.
“Can we eat anything we want?” Sarah Johnson asked with a giggly smile.
“As long as the money in my pocket is enough, you can choose whatever you want to eat.”
Emily Clarke snorted, “Cheapskate!”
Sarah Johnson continued with a smile, “So how much money do you have in your pocket?”
“I have more than two thousand dollars in my pocket, I wonder if that’s enough to treat you all?”
“More than two thousand, that’s plenty.
Let’s just spend according to what you have in your pocket,” Emily Clarke no longer called Jas Brown stingy now, as usually, their spending was essentially fourteen to twenty-eight dollars each, and that was considered high-end consumption.
Sarah Johnson said, “Let’s forget about it, if we spend it all, you won’t have any money left to buy things for Emma.
Let’s go to a buffet, it’s economical and reasonably priced, and the food there is pretty good too.”
Emily Clarke nodded in agreent, “Let’s go to that place called Sea Delight Buffet.
They have lots of seafood and even lots of fruit salads, which I really love.”
Emma Campbell usually doesn’t like to spend money, but she had been there once with her two roommates.
The buffet costs ninety-nine dollars per person, which was also quite luxurious for her usually.
But today, with Jas Brown present, it would only cost four hundred dollars for four people.
It would satisfy her friends, and the spending wasn’t too much, so she felt it was quite a good deal.
Jas Brown saw that all three agreed to go there, so naturally he had no objections, and drove there.
They paid for four people at the entrance, and entered the buffet.
The place was spacious and quite busy, with powerful central air conditioning keeping it cool, even though each table had a hot pot.
Jas Brown had never been to such a buffet before.
As a child, they couldn’t afford it, and after he joined the army, the rules were strict.
Even after being selected for Hawk Squad, he experienced big events, but important figures didn’t dine at such buffets, so it was his first ti eating at one.
Seeing Jas like Granny Smith entering P Garden, Sarah Johnson quietly asked, “You’re not telling this is your first ti at a buffet, are you?”
Jas shrugged his shoulders and said, “You guessed right.”
Sarah Johnson smacked her forehead and pushed Emma Campbell, saying, “Teach your boyfriend how to eat here to get your money’s worth.”
Jas turned to look at Emma Campbell, who blushed but appeared more excited.
Usually, she followed Jas’s lead, but today it seed she could instruct him.
“Big Brother Brown, the seafood and lamb slices are the most expensive here.
Eating lamb fills you up quickly, so we should start with seafood, and move to lamb when we’re nearly full.
And we shouldn’t eat too much lamb; there’s also fruit salad at the end.”
Jas found her advice amusing and chuckled, “I got it, good reminder.
If I started with lamb, I’d be full too soon and couldn’t enjoy the rest, what a loss that would be.”
“Also, when you fetch the seafood, you should move quickly; if you’re slow, the good stuff will be taken.
They restock seafood every half-hour, so if you miss out, you have to wait for the next round.”
Jas nodded repeatedly, finding this way of dining more interesting than the usual fancy restaurant.
Arriving at the serving area, each grabbed a plate, and Sarah Johnson whispered urgently, “Head to the seafood section, they’re about to replenish.”
The four hurried to the seafood section, which was already crowded with others who regular at buffets and knew the tricks to eat well there.
In less than two minutes, a couple of servers arrived with carts carrying several boxes.
Everyone started jostling forward.
Jas observed Emily Clarke and Sarah Johnson also struggling to get to the front, losing any ladylike deanor, and couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
Emma stayed close to Jas and whispered, “Sarah Johnson and Emily Clarke aren’t from wealthy families, so for them, a buffet is quite a splurge.
They definitely want to eat their money’s worth.”
Jas quickly said, “I wasn’t mocking them, just felt that hustling for food must make it taste even better.
Let’s join in.”
Emma nodded and with Jas’s guidance, they too squeezed to the front.
By then, servers had poured several types of seafood into a tray with ice.
Everyone was eagerly filling their plates, but since the dishes were only small entree plates, it could only fit a couple of crabs, making it hard to take more, so many had to go back and forth multiple tis.
The restaurant likely used small plates to prevent people from taking too much at once, leaving none for others.
“Big Brother Brown, hurry up,” Emma urged Jas as he took his ti.
By then, Sarah had filled her plate with three crabs and cheekily told Jas, “Showing off won’t help here; if you don’t start now, everything will be gone.
Oh, I can’t chit-chat, I need to get these back and grab so more.”
After speaking, Sarah Johnson and Emily Clarke quickly carried their plates back to their dining area.
By the ti they picked a table and returned, they found Jas and Emma still at the seafood section.
Emily Clarke said sowhat anxiously, “You two are so slow.
Don’t you dare snatch our food.”
Emma quickly responded, “We definitely… won’t snatch yours.”
Sarah Johnson and Emma’s expressions changed, and by then, everyone seed to be watching Jas.
They stopped taking seafood, and both girls were incredibly surprised.
As they moved forward and finally saw Jas from the side, they too were stunned and finally understood why everyone was staring at Jas and why Emma assured they wouldn’t snatch their food.
“Is this a magic trick?”
“This is too incredible, how could this be possible?”
“I definitely can’t do it, I already tried, and couldn’t pile it that high.”
Everyone was now completely captivated by Jas and continued to make comnts.
It was good that Grace Lopez wasn’t there, or she would have scread in excitent.
Jas managed to bring a unique flair even to eating at a buffet, giving Grace yet another reason to admire him.
