219: Chapter 220 Montum 219: Chapter 220 Montum This fellow is nad Joseph Smith, his father is the Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau, John Smith.

Relying on his father’s power, this guy is usually very outspoken.

Although he has not committed any serious evils, he has bullied many, and whenever trouble arises, the local police stations and branches all give face to his father and do not deal with him harshly.

Moreover, Joseph Smith’s mother is an extrely protective woman.

Whenever there’s a problem, she will side with her son, which makes him even more fearless and reckless in his actions.

Today, he hit a taxi driver, which for him, was a trivial matter that he did not take to heart at all.

Coming to the police station was just to show respect to the Director and for those around, to prevent triggering public opinion, since the internet is quite powerful nowadays.

Usually, this behavior is sufficient, but today there happened to be Emily Jenkins, a persistent person, who insisted on pursuing a resolution and even fild a video on her phone, which inevitably beca troubleso; hence, after obtaining the mory card, they threw it into the toilet to flush it away, denying any wrongdoing, and thus leaving Emily without any evidence.

Joseph Smith had initially thought of dealing with the persistent Emily Jenkins later, but upon seeing Emily Jenkins’s appearance, he imdiately changed his mind—it was a great beauty, and a bombshell at that, a rarity indeed.

The idea of dealing with Emily Jenkins changed into wanting to get her into bed.

“Beauty, do you know where you are?

This is the police station, and creating a disturbance like this is illegal.

It wouldn’t be a problem to detain you for ten or fifteen days.”

After laughing, Joseph Smith put on a stern face, intentionally intimidating Emily Jenkins.

Emily Jenkins glared and retorted, “The police station is not run by your family, do you think you can just detain anyone?”

Joseph Smith squinted his eyes and then glanced at Director John, who imdiately understood and darkened his face, barking, “You openly disrespect the national public security authorities, making a scene here, I’m going to arrest you now.”

Emily Jenkins incredulously looked at Director John, angrily saying, “You dare?”

Director John snorted coldly, “What can I not dare?

Your actions fully comply with the public security regulations, not to ntion detaining you, even sending you to re-education through labor wouldn’t be a problem.”

“What?

Re-education through labor?” Emily Jenkins couldn’t believe her ears.

She was clearly upholding justice and providing evidence, yet now she was being detained and even threatened with labor re-education.

At this ti, Joseph Smith quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, “Director John, don’t be so serious, the law is not devoid of human touch.

This beauty had good intentions, although there’s a misunderstanding with us, it doesn’t an you can detain or re-educate her.”

Director John looked troubled and said, “But she’s endlessly obstructive, completely hindering our work.

If I don’t detain her, how can we continue our work in the future?”

Joseph Smith eagerly said, “Director John, can you do a favor and just let this go?”

After hesitating a mont, Director John sternly said, “Alright, I’ll give you this favor, but take her away imdiately, do not hinder our work here.”

“Alright, thank you, Director John.

Beauty, let’s go, otherwise you’ll really be detained and it will ss up everything.” Joseph Smith now appeared very kind, saying this while reaching out to grab Emily Jenkins’s arm, as if persuading her to leave.

Jas Brown found this amusing, as Director John and Joseph Smith played off each other like two clowns, and here was Director John, for the sake of Joseph Smith’s flirting, completely neglecting his duties.

Such shaful tactics used by authorities of the Public Security Bureau, it was outrageous.

No wonder Helen Wilson found it difficult to crack a major case, having to work alongside such a person and resorting to secretive asures.

Emily Jenkins, usually a bit carefree, was quite sharp on this matter.

She took two steps back, dodging Joseph Smith’s hand, and snorted coldly, “Stop acting, a Director using such tactics, don’t you feel ashad?”

Director John’s face imdiately turned very ugly, Emily Jenkins speaking out directly like this made him lose face; he beca truly angry and shouted, “So, you’re refusing a favor?

Take her in!”

The nearby police officers were sowhat hesitant till Director John glared, barking, “Didn’t you hear what I said, arrest her, detain her for fifteen days.”

Joseph Smith quickly said, “Director John, please don’t, give so face.”

“John Friend, it’s not that I don’t want to give you face, but if I don’t detain her, I would appear as if I’m colluding with you to woo won.”

Joseph Smith initially thought Director John was just putting on a show, but now he realized that Director John was truly angry.

However, he felt this was even better.

Let Director John really arrest Emily Jenkins and let her suffer a bit.

Then he would intervene and get Emily released, surely winning her heart and easily getting her into bed.

At that point, he pretended to be slightly annoyed and said to Emily Jenkins, “Look at what you’ve done, you’ve made Director John so upset.

Alright, alright, wait for , I will definitely get you out.”

Upon receiving Joseph Smith’s command, two police officers ca over to arrest Emily Jenkins.

Emily was furious, certainly not willing to be detained just like that, and exclaid angrily, “How dare you!”

“Arrest her!” Director John ordered again.

The two police officers no longer hesitated and rushed towards Emily Jenkins, reaching out to grab her.

Emily Jenkins, a young woman, had no way to resist two police officers.

What overwheld her the most was the heartache from such injustice.

Facing the powerful state machinery, she felt utterly insignificant and powerless, a sense of helplessness swiftly overwhelming her.

Just as the police officers were about to apprehend her, her body involuntarily stepped back, and then she was suddenly embraced around the waist by a strong arm.

Turning her head, she found herself resting against Jas Brown’s chest, his embrace seed like a rock she could rely on, significantly diminishing her sense of helplessness.

However, thinking that Jas Brown was just an ordinary person, mainly skilled in fighting which was useless here – after all, they couldn’t just start attacking police officers – she remained worried.

“Stop!” Jas Brown shouted sternly.

He had been quietly observing on the side, and his anger had built up.

When he was in Hawk Squad, he faced life and death for the country’s peace.

But here, those who comfortably serve as police do such things, they are like termites slowly corroding the nation he risked his life to protect.

How could his heart not burn with anger?

“Do you also want to obstruct public security law enforcent?

Do you know where you are?

Look up, what’s above us?” Director John, although having noticed Jas Brown and Emma Campbell earlier and knowing they were with Emily Jenkins, didn’t take it seriously until Jas Brown spoke up, imdiately causing him to glare.

On the public notice board was a shining national emblem, fueling Jas Brown’s fury as he yelled, “You still recognize that this is a national institution?

You realize a national emblem is right above you?

The power given to you by the state is ant to protect the people’s peace, to maintain national stability and harmony.

What are you doing instead?

Due to connections, you disregard national laws, ignore justice.

Is this law enforcent?

What law are you enforcing?

As the head of a police station, can you justify your actions to the national emblem above you, to the police uniform you wear?”

Jas Brown’s words were full of righteousness and grandeur, causing Director John’s face to turn extrely ugly, unable to utter a word, especially knowing deep down that his actions did not align with what a police station head should do.

Emma Campbell, standing by Jas Brown’s side, initially felt fear, but hearing his speech and looking at his resolute profile, she suddenly felt imnse admiration for him.

This was her boyfriend, and she was truly proud and happy, reflexively clasping Jas Brown’s arm.

Emily Jenkins turned her head to look at Jas Brown in awe.

She knew him well usually, feeling he was a reliable and wonderful person.

Even when Jas Brown rescued her before, she just felt grateful for his fighting skills, but now his image had grown significantly in her heart.

In a woman’s heart, a man who does not fear power is truly mighty and a real man.

Director John was stupefied by Jas Brown’s speech, but Joseph Smith was dismissive of such morality.

In his heart, with his father’s clout, no one could provoke him – power was ant for people like him, not for ordinary citizens.

Seeing Emily Jenkins now leaning in Jas Brown’s embrace, her deanor gentle and dependent, and with Emma Campbell also a beauty by Jas Brown’s side, he was exceedingly annoyed, imdiately scoffing, “Kid, you sure can talk big.

In a police station, yet you dare to talk about the law?

Who do you think you are?”

This remark reminded Director John that in this police station, he was in charge.

Who was Jas Brown, after all?

But now he truly dared not underestimate Jas Brown, who seed like soone accustod to the bigger world, especially with two beautiful won obviously close to him beside him.

Nowadays, it isn’t common for beauties to be with ordinary guys, let alone two.

That definitely required substantial capabilities.

A police officer whispered to Director John, “Director John, the Porsche parked outside should be his.”

Director John’s mouth twitched again, a Porsche owner couldn’t possibly be soone trivial.

If he was a wealthy second generation, that might be manageable, but if he was so official’s son, that could be troubleso.

And even if he was just a wealthy second generation, those who could afford a Porsche would surely have powerful acquaintances.

As a re head of a small police station, he might be out of his depth.
