151: Chapter 151: Even Leaders Co to Ingratiate Themselves 151: Chapter 151: Even Leaders Co to Ingratiate Themselves At this mont, Lucy Campbell stood up and shook hands with the four n, each of whom quickly released her hand after a brief touch, seemingly afraid to give any offense.

This surprised and disgusted Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog.

Among the four, Johnathan Davis, who was the first deputy in charge of their TV station, usually looked at them with leering eyes.

He would hold their hands and would not let go, but now, it seed he didn’t dare to take any advantage at all.

“Leaders, let introduce to you my cousin, Jas Brown.

From now on, he will act as my spokesperson in YODC City and serve as the general cut in the company.”

Having introduced him thusly, Jas Brown had no choice but to step up to the plate and shake hands with the four leaders, managing a smile as he said, “Leaders, I’m not very good at managing a company.

It’s only because my cousin dragged here to make up the numbers.

If there’s anything in the future, you should still talk to General Manager Gina Lopez about it.” He imdiately pushed Gina Lopez to the forefront.

The four were familiar with Gina Lopez since her company was not insignificant in YODC City, and especially because Gina Lopez was young and beautiful, she was easily rembered.

The four had so thoughts about Gina Lopez before, but now that she was suddenly promoted to the general manager of Lucy Campbell’s company, they wouldn’t dare have any designs on her anymore.

“I believe there’s no need to introduce these two ladies.

They will be the spokespersons of our company, our brand ambassadors.

From now on, our company’s image is all up to them.

I hope the leaders will take good care of them for the sake of our company’s image.”

With those words from Lucy Campbell, Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog were extrely grateful.

With that said, Johnathan Davis would not only cease to have any designs on them, but even if any subordinates wanted to harass them, these four leaders would have to intervene.

People do not lack self-respect, and Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog were no exception.

They also disliked the idea of selling themselves for the sake of their future, but reality often demanded submission.

Now they knew that they no longer needed to do so; they now had the capital to maintain their self-respect.

After the introductions were complete, everyone took their seats.

Lucy Campbell unapologetically took the principal seat, with Mayor Daniel Quinn and Mayor Christopher Brown on both sides, followed by Johnathan Davis and John Harris.

Jas Brown and Gina Lopez sat together, while Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog took the seats at the very back.

The atmosphere at the table was sowhat heavy, with Lucy Campbell not engaging in much banter or laughter with the others.

Even when toasting, it was rely a gesture.

Gina Lopez originally took on the toasting, but a look from Lucy Campbell made it clear that continuing to do so would diminish the company’s standing.

Lucy Campbell was determined that in dealing with the company, including its employees, they should not appear weak or lowly.

Alice Brown and Jennifer Hog were initially a little reserved, but after a while, they felt that the senior leaders were very approachable that day and gradually beca bolder.

As hosts, there was no questioning their verbal abilities.

Their witty conversation soon livened up the atmosphere sowhat.

But even so, the al did not last long; it was less than an hour from start to finish before preparations to settle the bill and disperse began.

“Miss Johnson, rest assured, as long as your company is based in YODC City, we will definitely support it to the fullest,” the leaders had said this many tis over.

With a faint smile, Lucy Campbell replied, “I hope so too.

I can tell that you leaders are all about action.

Under your leadership, YODC City will certainly develop even better, and I’m sure you will be able to take on greater responsibilities in the future.”

Hearing Lucy Campbell’s words, the faces of the leaders showed varying expressions.

Mayor Christopher Brown was extrely delighted; Lucy Campbell’s words were undoubtedly a promise that as long as he helped the company to develop well in YODC City, she would assist him on his path to promotion.

And her help would be much more effective than that of any provincial leader.

For Daniel Quinn, it was a pity.

At his age, he no longer hoped for a promotion.

If he had t Lucy Campbell earlier, perhaps he wouldn’t have reached his limit as just a mayor.

However, now that he had ford a good relationship with Lucy Campbell, his son, a section chief in the city administration, might have the chance to quickly climb the ranks.

Johnathan Davis and John Harris naturally had the sa thoughts and were eager to beco Lucy Campbell’s close allies.

Jas Brown watched the four leaders fawn over Lucy Campbell and shook his head inwardly.

It was this kind of hypocrisy he disliked the most on the official scene; otherwise, upon his military discharge, he could have easily found himself a modest official position.

The banquet finally concluded.

Although it was Lucy Campbell’s treat, the leaders imdiately scrambled to pay the bill.

Lucy Campbell did not argue with them; inviting them to the al was already giving them enough face.

Even if she hadn’t, they wouldn’t dare touch her company.

However, that was how Lucy Campbell operated, and this was part of her personal charm—that ability to have people willingly work for her.

If she ca across a governnt official she admired, she would not hesitate to lend a hand.

Upon leaving the club, Lucy Campbell had Jas Brown drive her directly to the airport.

Her flight was at two in the afternoon.

Gina Lopez, Alice Brown, and Jennifer Hog also accompanied her to the airport, and Lucy Campbell did not refuse.

“Keep this car for your use,” Lucy Campbell said with a smile to Jas Brown, the two alone in the vehicle.

“No need.

I can’t afford such an expensive car.”

Lucy Campbell rolled her eyes at Jas Brown—a gesture any girl might enjoy making, but when soone like Lucy Campbell did it, even such a simple act was filled with charm, dazzling and beyond compare.

But Jas Brown was focused on driving and didn’t see.

“You’re a CEO now, aren’t you?

Not having a decent car doesn’t reflect well on our company’s strength, does it?”

“Oh, co on.

I’ve seen which CEO actually drives themselves—they all have drivers.

And for a CEO to drive a red sports car would just seem too frivolous.

If I were to need a car, it ought to be sothing like a rcedes or an Audi, right?”

“Heh, I ant that this car is for you to have fun with when you’re off duty.

Naturally, the company will provide so official cars for use.”

“To have fun with…

you think it would look good for a salaried man like to drive around in a sports car worth millions?

That’s just asking to be scorned.

Frankly, a person like driving a nice car is still just a driver, no matter what.”

“Suit yourself.

But I might not be back for a while, so the car would just be sitting there anyway.

At the very least, you could find sowhere to park it.”

“Fine, I’ll take the car back and dump it in the underground garage.”

After talking about the car, Jas Brown turned to Lucy Campbell and asked, “What’s your angle with all this anyway?”

Lucy Campbell feigned ignorance, “What do you an?

What’s my angle?”

“Making soone a CEO—we’re both adults here, no need to beat around the bush.

Don’t tell you’ve got tied up here without any ulterior motives.”

Lucy Campbell chuckled softly and said, “I really don’t have any ulterior motives.

Here, you’re the only one I truly trust.

If I can’t ask for your help, who else could I turn to?”

“The most trustworthy?

I hardly feel it,” Jas Brown said with a wry smile.

Lucy Campbell gazed at Jas Brown’s profile and said in a low voice, “In the midst of gunfire, you told you’d definitely bring back, and you kept your promise, even in the face of danger.

If I can’t trust you, who else could I trust?”

Jas Brown turned to look at Lucy Campbell and smiled, “You’re not here simply to thank for bringing you back, are you?”

“Of course not, but coming to see you is indeed true.

After all, that was the most dangerous experience of my life.

If I didn’t even co to see my savior, wouldn’t that make utterly heartless?”

Jas Brown responded candidly, “You really didn’t need to.

I was on a mission.

Even if it had been a hunter or a dog, I would have brought it back.

Plus, I get paid by the state; it’s not like I wanted to save you particularly.”

Knowing this would be Jas Brown’s reaction, Lucy Campbell had not revealed her true purpose for coming.

She didn’t want to pressure him or act blindly.

The few genuine encounters she had with Jas Brown gave her more reasons to like him.

She knew that if she pursued him too eagerly, it would only drive him away.

Lucy Campbell was indeed very wise, and she had an open mind about most things.

She wasn’t like other girls who beco possessive after falling for soone.

She understood that if a man cannot mature emotionally, he’s not soone to entrust a lifeti with.

So, if there were any girls around Jas Brown, she wouldn’t mind.

No matter what happened, she was confident she could end up with him.

“I’m not really here to repay a favor anyway.

Can’t you just treat like a friend?”

“Being friends is fine.

Aren’t you always freeloading at my place?

If we weren’t friends, would I let you do that?”

“That’s right.

Since we’re friends, it’s not strange for to help you out with your company, right?”

“However, I always feel like I’m helping you as a friend, but you haven’t helped , have you?” Jas Brown asked with a teasing smile.

“Hehe, well you haven’t asked for anything yet, have you?

If you do, just tell .

Whatever I, Lucy Campbell, can accomplish, I won’t hesitate in the slightest.”
