The two joked and laughed all the way to the temple at the mountaintop.
Emily Lopez was looking around with great enthusiasm, and Jas Brown followed her, explaining things as they went.
The busiest place in W Temple was where people offered incense.
Devotees, one by one, held their incense sticks with sincerity and planted them into the incense burner amidst swirling smoke, which was quite eye-stinging, yet everyone seed not to mind at all.
Emily also ran to buy an incense stick and queued up to offer it, while Jas waited for her on the side.
He didn’t believe in these rituals at all.
Having completed many missions with Hawk Squad over the years and returning safely was all due to his own efforts, nothing to do with praying or worshiping.
“Big Brother Brown!” A joyous call sounded, and a girl quickly ran over.
Jas was very familiar with this girl; it was Lemon Smith.

Lemon nodded, her eyes watery as she looked at Jas.

Jas was genuinely impressed by Lemon’s intuition; with just a casual point, she correctly guessed he ant Emily.
It was as if this woman really had a sixth sense, so he simply said, “Yeah.”
Lemon drew a deep breath, her face breaking into a radiant smile, “Big Brother Brown, then I’ll leave first.
If she sees with you, it might cause a misunderstanding.”
Jas tapped Lemon on the head and laughed, “What nonsense are you talking about?
She’s our boss’s little sister.
Still, it’s better she didn’t see us.
Today, I was ordered by the boss to accompany her.”
Lemon’s smile blood like a flower.
“Big Brother Brown, then I won’t disturb you anymore.
I’m heading back.”
“Go ahead, be careful on your way downhill,” Jas nodded.
“I will,” Lemon nodded back and then gave Jas a deep look, her eyes filled with deep affection, before turning and lightly stepping down the mountain.
Jas shook his head; this girl seed to be getting more attached to him, which made him a bit hesitant to face her now.
After smoking two cigarettes, Emily finished offering her incense and imdiately ca back, sizing Jas up with squinted eyes, which made him a bit uneasy.
“Why are you looking at like that?”
Suddenly, Emily punched Jas, her face stern as she said, “Great, now I understand why my sister hasn’t slept with you; you’ve been holding out.”
Jas was instantly dumbfounded and said, “Emily, can we not talk about this, please?”
“We have to talk.
What’s going on with that girl just now?” Emily demanded with a stern face.
Jas knew she was referring to Lemon.
He then calmly said, “She’s a college student.
I’ve helped her out before, so we’re sowhat close.”
Emily stared into Jas’s eyes.
“Is that so?
So, you two are just normal friends?”
Jas t Emily’s gaze squarely.
“What else did you think?”
Emily Lopez puckered her lips and said, “One runs eagerly to you, clearly thrilled to see you.
That just shows she likes you a lot.
How can you not be moved by such a beautiful girl?”
Jas Brown chuckled and replied, “So, should I be moved by any girl I know well?”
“Isn’t that how all you n are?”
“Well, Emily, you’re quite the beauty yourself.
Should I be moved every ti I see you then?”
Tilting her head, Emily scanned Jas with her eyes and said, “Okay, you found a way to convince , but…how co you’re not moved when you see ?
I’m just like my sister, aren’t I?”
At that, Jas broke into a sweat and awkwardly said, “Emily, don’t tease your brother-in-law like that.
You’re my sister-in-law.
If I dared to have feelings for you, your sister would skin alive.”
Emily burst into laughter and said, “So, you an if you had t first, you would have fallen for too.”
Jas smiled and said, “Definitely, but now my heart is calm as a lake.
Aside from your sister, I dare not harbor feelings for any other girl.”
Suddenly, Emily reached out and hooked her arm into Jas’s, giggling as she said, “You’ve passed the test.
It seems my sister made the right choice picking you.”
As Emily hooked arms with him, Jas was quite used to it by now, so there was no awkwardness, and indeed, having such a beautiful woman on his arm felt like an achievent.
Also, since Emily and Gina were twins and dressed the sa, it even felt to Jas like he was being hooked by Gina.
Gina, the CEO of the company, rarely showed such tenderness, and even when she did so for Emily, it felt quite stiff.
At this mont, Jas felt sowhat fulfilled by his fanciful thoughts.
They didn’t rush down the mountain.
After another walk around the temple, they descended together.
By the ti they descended, it was already noon.
They decided to find a restaurant to eat at.
Luckily, there were so unique local restaurants nearby.
It being spring, there were freshly caught small fish, and they ordered so to try.
It was Emily’s first ti trying these, and while eating, she praised enthusiastically, “This is really delicious.
Brother-in-law, it’s great coming out with you.
Last ti I ca here, my sister didn’t take to eat such delicious food.”
Jas responded with a grin, “Your sister is busy, unlike your jobless brother-in-law.”
“Pfft, I can tell.
It’s my sister holding you back.
With your skills, you could definitely do better than her.”
“I don’t want that kind of burden.
Here, try this.”
Jas pointed to a type of frog, native to the mountain streams, full of eggs, making them incredibly tasty.
However, these weren’t commonly found in the market and could only be caught in places with mountain streams.
“This… looks a bit scary,” Emily admitted, hesitantly, as girls often fear things like frogs and snakes.
Among the six dishes on the table, this was the only one she hadn’t touched.
Jas took a bite and, after chewing a couple of tis, said blissfully, “If you don’t eat, I’ll have it all by myself.”
Seeing Jas enjoying it so much made Emily’s mouth water.
She smirked and asked, “Can you actually eat this?”
Jas just smiled and simply placed so on his own plate, continuing to eat.
Finally unable to resist the tempting delicacy, Emily cautiously took a small piece, suppressed her discomfort, and put it in her mouth.
Jas, finding it amusing, asked, “How is it?”
Emily smacked her lips and said, “I didn’t really taste much of it, but it doesn’t seem too bad.” Then, she took a small frog leg and began to eat more.
With the first bite, Emily’s eyes brightened, and she mumbled, “This is tasty, even better than the fish.”
Jas laughed heartily and said, “If it wasn’t good, would I have offered it to you?”
Emily nodded vigorously and said, “I knew my brother-in-law treats well.
Delicious, delicious.”
Emily ate heartily, lacking any semblance of grace.
After finishing one frog leg, she quickly grabbed a whole frog and started eating it enthusiastically.
This was how Emily differed from Gina.
Gina always maintained her poise while eating, even when alone with Jas at ho, cherishing each bite slowly.
Jas never saw how Gina ate when she was alone.
anwhile, Emily was more casual, devouring tasty food and chatting in between bites, utterly without any ladylike deanor, but undeniably, this candidness made her quite attractive, fostering a sense of closeness.
As they were enjoying their al, four young people ca in, clearly wealthy with their designer clothes and expensive phones and bags.
Two of them held car keys, one to a Porsche and the other to a Ferrari.
Jas, sitting by the window, looked out and saw two gleaming cars in the courtyard, a Porsche and a Ferrari.
