Yu Siqiao sidled closer, rubbing against her. "Is that what they call flattery? But every word I say is heartfelt and sincere."
Mo Shu couldn’t keep her façade either. Her expression softened as she said, "Just because you slled the scent of incense on Wei Yuantong, you started thinking about ’raising a little ghost’?"
"I didn’t at first," Yu Siqiao admitted, hugging her tenderly, his palm resting on her plump belly, "but today was just too strange. All of Wei Yuantong’s actions were peculiar."
Mo Shu nodded, then quickly seized on another point. "Have you been keeping an eye on her all this ti?"
"It just so happens that I’ve bought off soone close to her."
Mo Shu was deeply unsettled. "Just so happens?"
Yu Siqiao remained calm. "Yes, just so. After viewing the surveillance footage, I made the connection. The informant I had in the Wei Family also happened to discover the secret of the safe. Putting two and two together, it roughly adds up."
Mo Shu felt a chill. "So from start to finish, you had no idea that Wei Yuantong was ’raising a little ghost’?"
"How would I know if I’ve never seen it?" Yu Siqiao looked up and saw her strange expression. "Did you always know?"
"I..."
Yu Siqiao raised an eyebrow, an ironic smile on his face.
Mo Shu felt unsettled under that gaze. "I... only found out about it recently..."
"Is that so?" Yu Siqiao narrowed his eyes as he leaned in closer. "Look into my eyes and tell ."
Mo Shu turned to et his gaze and finally said, "Alright, actually, I’ve known for quite so ti."
"How long?"
"About two... three months, I guess."
Yu Siqiao’s brows twitched. "That long?"
"Um, I suspect that the person who offered ten billion to buy my baby last ti was her too."
Yu Siqiao’s brows furrowed slightly, certain. "It wasn’t."
Mo Shu’s eyes widened. "Why not?"
"She doesn’t have that kind of money."
Mo Shu was at a loss for words.
Yu Siqiao explained, "I had soone look into her assets. She has money, with corporate assets worth over sixty billion, but her accessible cash doesn’t exceed five billion, so..."
"So, you think it wasn’t her?"
Yu Siqiao shook his head. "Definitely not her."
In fact, Yu Siqiao had been investigating since that last incident.
But with so few clues and no direction, he resorted to the most simplistic thod—scanning the list of enemies and individuals with a past grudge against either him or Mo Shu one by one.
He was easy.
It was Mo Shu... she had quite a list of adversaries.
Just filtering through who she had bullied before, and how she had tornted them took a full three days.
In the end, there were no more than three capable of such a deed, and Wei Yuantong wasn’t one of them.
Those three had not been in the country recently; one had even emigrated to another nation, becoming an affluent figure of significance there.
Of the other two, one was Yu Jing, whom they had t before, and the other was incredibly low-key.
Four years ago, Mo Shu had publicly torn up his project proposal—a full business plan—and he was said to have been quite upset about it.
But afterward, there was no further dispute, so the incident was a minor blip in their relationship.
His father, however, often interacted with Yu Siqiao, and the two families had a good working relationship.
Later, Yu Siqiao consulted the older generation and realized that among those with grudges against Mo Shu and who wished her harm, there was probably only one: Qin Yuan.
