Qin Jiran looked up with surprise, his eyes lighting up.

During the years he had been acting, he had seen many people visit the set, but aside from fans, no one ever visited his, and he never even dared to hope that Yanyi would be willing to visit his set.

"Okay."

After dinner, just as Qin Jiran was wondering whether to invite Su Yanyi for a walk, his phone rang with a familiar yet recently contacted number—one that he did not particularly like.

The Qin family had tried to contact him three tis recently, all through the sa assistant’s phone calls, hoping to et him. He had refused every ti, but now, to his annoyance, they had not given up and called again.

"Why don’t you answer? Is it the Qin family again?" Su Yanyi, astute as always, guessed the truth from Qin Jiran’s deanor and asked with a touch of concern. His matters were her matters.

"The fourth ti," said Qin Jiran frankly. The Qin family was becoming more and more annoying to him.

Su Yanyi’s expression turned cooler as she hesitated whether to help answer the phone, but considering Jiran could handle it himself, she decided not to intervene.

Qin Jiran answered the call and said flatly, "I thought I made myself clear."

"Mr. Qin, Old Mr. Qin doesn’t have much ti left. Can you really bear not to see him for the last ti? He just wants to see you," Zhang Yuanzhuo, assistant of Old Master Qin, started with an emotional appeal.

"He had many chances to see before, but he didn’t. Now I don’t want to see him either, because it wouldn’t an anything," Qin Jiran replied, not feeling any familial ties to the old man. If he rushed over now, would the Qin family think he was after the inheritance?

This was a muddy situation Qin Jiran didn’t want to get involved in. It was definitely not as simple as visiting a critically ill elder.

"Can’t you even fulfill a stranger’s dying wish? Besides, everything back then was your father’s decision, not Old Mr. Qin’s. You shouldn’t hold a grudge. Of course, Old Master Qin isn’t blaless, but as a dying man, he just wants to see you," Zhang Yuanzhuo persevered in his persuasion, having moved from an emotional to a now seemingly rational argunt.

"Are you done? If so, please hang up," Qin Jiran remained undisturbed, not because he was holding a grudge. To him, Elder Qin, or even Mr. Qin Zhenyi, were just irrelevant strangers.

"Wait, I haven’t finished. Alright, if emotions and reasons don’t work, let’s talk about benefits. Mr. Qin, you’re entitled to a share of the Qin family’s inheritance. Don’t you want to know the contents of Old Mr. Qin’s will? I know you might not be short of money now, but after all, who would say no to more? Especially since you share the Qin surna and can’t deny the blood relation. You have the right to accept the inheritance from the Qin family, don’t you?" Zhang Yuanzhuo’s voice now carried a sense of confidence as if he believed no one could resist such a temptation. After all, the Qin family was not just a simple small family, and Elder Qin’s inheritance amounted to billions. How could anyone not be tempted? Otherwise, Old Master Qin’s sons and grandchildren wouldn’t be fighting over it so fiercely that even he, an outsider, had his fill of the spectacle.

"Not interested. Please don’t call again," Qin Jiran said before hanging up the phone again, then imdiately blocked the number. Everything that needed to be said had been said, and he truly did not wish to be disturbed any further.
