Su Yanyi was soone who could be quite stubborn and very proud. She didn’t know if it was to prove that she could take good care of the children or if a sudden whim had struck her to try, but nonetheless, she devoted her entire evening to the two chubby babies without doing anything else.
After the bath, Su Yanyi placed the two babies on the luxurious crib, hoping to get them to sleep. However, for so reason, the crib’s hypnotic power seed to fail that night. The babies continued to play with their tiny hands and make ah-ah sounds for a long ti without any sign of falling asleep.
"Ti to sleep, no more playing," Su Yanyi commanded seriously by the side of the crib. She spoke her piece, but the two babies seed not to pay any attention at all, still staring with their round, wide eyes with no intention of sleeping.
"Ah ah!" Little Tangyuan was always more active than Little atball. Her ah-ah sounds were loud as she reached out her little hands toward Su Yanyi, trying to grasp at her as if to catch hold of her.
Su Yanyi hesitated for a mont, then stepped closer and extended her finger, allowing Little Tangyuan just to reach it. The next mont, she saw Little Tangyuan flash an extrely brilliant smile and then drool flowed out of her chubby mouth. Seeing this, Su Yanyi could only think of one word—silly!
"Silly smile." Even though she found her child’s smile sowhat silly, Su Yanyi awkwardly picked up a handkerchief nearby and wiped the corner of Tangyuan’s mouth, restoring the baby to a clean, pristine, and incredibly adorable state.
Seeing that neither child felt like sleeping, Su Yanyi picked up a book and started to read by their side. Little Tangyuan perhaps wanted to play with her mother, and seeing that Yanyi wasn’t paying her any attention, she continually made noises. Su Yanyi had no choice but to put down her book and keep playing. Standing on one side was rather tiring, Su Yanyi thought for a mont, then carried Little Tangyuan and Little atball back to her own room. She placed the two babies on the bed and lay down between them, stroking their heads and continued reading her book.
This ti, perhaps because they could touch Su Yanyi, the children stopped crying out. Instead, they curiously patted her body with their little hands. Su Yanyi didn’t mind and let them do so; as long as they weren’t fussing, it was fine. Then, the three of them—her playing and reading—we all drifted to sleep one after another.
When Su Yanyi saw the two babies fall asleep, she quietly breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that they showed no desire to stay up late. Otherwise, she really wouldn’t have known what to do. Just as she thought about taking the children back to the nursery, the babies, seeming unwilling to part, flailed their little hands as though they were about to wake. This made Su Yanyi frown.
After hesitating for a while, Su Yanyi decided she should prioritize the babies’ sleep and let them stay there for the night. She was a bit tired from the evening’s exertions and really didn’t want to fuss any further. So she didn’t move the babies. After a while, she also succumbed to deep sleep.
When Qin Jiran returned, he habitually checked the nursery first, and to his surprise, found that the babies weren’t there. After a brief mont of astonishnt, he assud that his mother-in-law might have kept them in the main building and wasn’t too surprised. So he returned to his own room.
Gently pushing open the door, the room was sowhat dim, lit only by a small light beside the bed. Yet, that light was enough for him to see the one adult and two babies lying on the bed. The babies’ heads were tilted slightly toward Yanyi’s direction. Yanyi’s sleeping position was sowhat different than usual, as if she was being careful not to roll onto the babies. She seed restrained, but her big hand was loosely holding their small ones, connecting them. The blanket only covered them halfway, and her hair was casually spread out, exuding a gentle aura.
