In the study of the main building of the Su family, Old Master Su had just hung up the phone with his old friend Zhao Guangyi. The vigorous voice of his old friend over the phone brought him both relief and a sense of emotion, while the words spoken by his old friend filled him with both surprise and a hint of gravity and puzzlent.
He had no idea where Yanyi got the pharmaceutical formulations from, which not only made him feel twenty years younger but also had an inhibitory effect on cancer. Although the cancer cells in his friend’s body had not been completely eliminated, the condition had greatly improved and regular treatnt could now be accepted. If the condition continued to improve like this, even if it couldn’t be completely cured, living another three to five years seed highly likely. Such an outco had nearly shaken everyone privy to the situation. If the Su and Zhao families were not keeping it under wraps, the entire dical field might have been astounded.
"Yanyi, co to my study, let’s have a talk," Old Master Su thought for a while and finally decided to have a talk with Yanyi, so he called her.
At this ti, Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran had just finished their dinner and were playing with the children. Hearing the summons from the old man, she imdiately reported in.
"What is it, Grandpa?"
"Your Grandpa Zhao’s recovery is going well. The cancer hasn’t been cured, but it’s greatly restrained. If he keeps this up, living another three to five years shouldn’t be a problem," said Old Master Su. His words were like a narrative but also a probe. He wasn’t trying to calculate anything with his granddaughter; he wanted to understand whether Yanyi was willing to tell him the truth. If she really wasn’t willing, he wouldn’t press her.
Su Yanyi was also smart. Hearing her grandfather’s words and seeing his expression, she grasped sothing. She knew that her grandfather wanted to know about the dicine. She thought for a mont before saying, "I have a very special friend who has many extrely advanced and invaluable technologies. This dicine formulation is one of them, I guess."
The truth is, Su Yanyi felt that she couldn’t tell the whole story. She didn’t want to reveal her rebirth and the accompanying system. It wasn’t a matter of trust, but rather, it wasn’t necessary. She didn’t want her family to worry or be hurt for her. Since those events had passed, it was better to let them be completely in the past.
However, she couldn’t just leave the question unanswered; continuing to hide the truth would inevitably lead to more suspicion. Thus, Su Yanyi chose to partially reveal the truth, incomplete as it was, but still a part of the reality.
"Do you trust your friend a lot?" Although phrased as a question, it carried more of an affirming tone. In Elder Su’s view, since she was willing to share such astonishing research results, there must be a significant level of trust. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have confidently drunk the dicine herself.
This question made Su Yanyi hesitate once more. Trust? Did she trust the System?
The System’s existence was compulsory, not sothing that depended on her allowing it to exist. And so far, she hadn’t figured out what this System really was, whether it was truly related to her rebirth, why it existed within her, and where all this would eventually lead.
Unable to figure these things out, Su Yanyi was at a loss with an unknown, un-referenced existence. So just how much could she trust it?
Trust was sothing she bestowed on very few; besides her Su family mbers, there were hardly any others. As for a compulsorily existing System, she truly didn’t know if it deserved her trust.
The System was powerful, with very potent and practical features. Although she had not specifically used its functions, it was undeniable that its existence had helped her a lot. Additionally, nothing harmful to her had ever occurred because of it.
