Qin Zhenyi couldn’t help but feel he had made a foolish mistake, as if he were disdained by both sides. Not only mocked by the younger generation, he now had to suffer suspicion from Qin Zhenren. He was truly in utter despair.
"You’re simply slandering . If you don’t want to agree, then don’t, but do you really think I want to agree?" Qin Zhenyi had never considered agreeing to the condition to begin with. The shares he held were not many to start with; how could he give them to soone else?
"Hmph, it’s best if that’s the case; seeing as the Su family route is not working out, we’ll have to find our own way. Haven’t they said that public opinion is the fastest changing thing nowadays? This little matter of ours has them all heated up. If push cos to shove, we’ll just find sothing more interesting for them to talk about," Qin Zhenren had also been pondering over a solution to this problem. He clearly had no trust in Qin Zhenyi. To him, the two of them were no different than enemies. Why would he believe Qin Zhenyi was truly willing to help? So, hearing Qin Zhenyi’s words, he was not the least bit surprised.
"More interesting matters? What are you referring to?" Qin Zhenyi was anxious and imdiately asked after hearing Qin Zhenren’s comnt.
Qin Zhenren looked at Qin Zhenyi with a strange expression, then spoke in a sarcastic tone, "Qin Jiran, your son, isn’t even willing to speak up for you. Why don’t we talk about him then? As his father, you wouldn’t be reluctant, would you?"
Upon hearing Qin Zhenren’s words, everyone present imdiately understood his implication. Qin Zhenyi’s face turned unsightly, but there was a clear hint of interest in his eyes; Qin Ying was even more eager, awaiting to hear more. If it could shift the focus away from her, she was all for it.
In contrast to these reactions, Qin Haowen, who was also part of this eting in the corner, imdiately furrowed his brows and listened attentively.
The task Su Yanyi had set for Qin Haowen was simple: to be updated with the latest developnts of the Qin family. As for the approach, Su Yanyi left it to Qin Haowen to act sweet and charming in front of Qin Zhenren. He should neither cry nor be annoyed, appear pitiful and sensible, and then express his willingness to stand with Qin Zhenren against Qin Zhenyi. By keeping a low profile at tis and occasionally contributing good ideas, he might earn a bit of Qin Zhenren’s favor.
Qin Haowen indeed did just that. Although the results were not significant due to the limited ti, he was now by Qin Zhenren’s side, at least accorded status enough to participate in such family etings.
"Well, let’s hear it. What could possibly be related to him that could distract attention?" Qin Zhenyi didn’t deny Qin Zhenren’s suggestion and asked directly, his attitude quite apparent.
When it ca to interests, what was a disobedient son worth, anyway? Moreover, it was just a matter of spreading so rumors. Qin Zhenyi didn’t need to hesitate before making his choice, or to put it more accurately, for Qin Zhenyi, this was hardly a choice at all.
"Qin Jiran has recently been busy planning a variety show, reportedly interacting with fans, and not long ago, a scandal broke out. I think we can add fuel to the fire on this issue. This piece of news would definitely garner more attention," Qin Zhenren ca up with this idea on the spur of the mont, not specifically targeting Qin Jiran. After all, there was no actual connection between him and Qin Jiran, but Qin Zhenren obviously had no qualms about it.
For Qin Zhenren, as long as it could help him escape his current predicant, what did it matter if it implicated innocent people? Moreover, Qin Jiran was clearly of Qin blood yet did nothing to help them; he deserved to be used. It could be considered fulfilling his duty as a mber of the Qin family.
