"What are you thinking about?" Unable to figure it out, Su Yanyi asked straightforwardly.
Her question caught Qin Jiran off guard. He paused, looking sowhat uneasy, as if he didn’t know how to answer.
"I was thinking about what happened just now." Qin Jiran understood Su Yanyi well; he knew she would continue to ask if he didn’t answer, so he decided it was better to just be honest.
"Bai Qing?" Could he really be feeling jealous?
"No." Qin Jiran glanced at Su Yanyi quickly and then imdiately returned his gaze to the road, focusing on driving.
Seeing Qin Jiran acting like this, Su Yanyi couldn’t help but feel that he seed a bit guilty.
"Not that? Then what is it?"
"Yanyi, do you think that I’m interfering with your affairs?" Qin Jiran hesitated before voicing his concern. Although Su Yanyi had defended him earlier and had said words that felt heartwarmingly supportive, he still had a slight unease in his heart.
Did Yanyi really want him to interfere with her affairs? And how would she feel about his ddling? Many couples, because they’re too close and too familiar with each other, end up ignoring their partner’s feelings. He didn’t want to do anything that would cause Yanyi to resent or dislike him as their relationship beca more intimate.
Ah, so that was the issue. Su Yanyi had an epiphany and understood at once.
"You’re already interfering." Su Yanyi could be quite sly; she knew what this man cared about yet deliberately said such a thing, making him even more anxious.
Qin Jiran’s movents stiffened as he drove, and he felt that this wasn’t a topic they should be discussing in the car. He sighed inwardly, his spirits falling— Yanyi probably still didn’t like it.
"I won’t do it anymore, don’t worry about it. I was just concerned that standing for too long would make you uncomfortable," Qin Jiran explained sowhat sourly.
With her fingers tapping on her leg, Su Yanyi tilted her head and looked at Qin Jiran, saying, "I don’t like others ddling in my affairs, but you... you are not just anyone."
So, she didn’t mind this man ddling in her affairs, especially when it was out of concern. She liked it very much.
Qin Jiran instantly smiled. If others were present and Yanyi said this, he might doubt whether she did it to save his face, but now that it was just the two of them, he felt reassured by her words.
With Qin Jiran feeling happy, the atmosphere relaxed, and they returned ho cheerfully. As they got out of the car, Qin Jiran was once again attentively helpful, lifting Yanyi, who wore high heels, directly onto the living room sofa. Then he brought over slippers and crouched down in front of her to help her switch shoes.
"Yanyi, let’s go to the hospital for a check-up," Qin Jiran said while helping her change her shoes. When it ca to Yanyi possibly carrying a baby, the Su Family mbers and he were both a bit suspicious. At first, they were extrely excited about the news, but after thinking it over, they began to notice so inconsistencies.
How did Yanyi know she was pregnant? And how long had she been pregnant? Yanyi’s explanations had always been vague, and they had only a hazy understanding.
"Go tomorrow?" The pregnancy was nearly a month along, so a check-up should now reveal it clearly. Hence, Su Yanyi didn’t reject the suggestion.
"Okay, we’ll go tomorrow." Seeing how readily Su Yanyi agreed, Qin Jiran smiled.
Having decided to go the next day, they went together to the hospital for an examination. The obstetrician they had an appointnt with was a senior doctor and also Mother Su’s personal obstetrician. The check-up was conducted very thoroughly and, after asking a series of questions, the doctor said, "Congratulations to both of you, the pregnancy should be about four weeks along. In nine more months, your child will be born."
