The auction, although commonly referred to as an underground auction, was in fact held at sea. It took place on a privately-owned gigantic luxury cruise liner, so the auction could also be known as a mariti auction. However, the auction was not the most distinctive feature of the liner, or rather, the uniqueness of the liner was not confined to the auction alone. That’s why many preferred to call it the "Dark Feast."
