It was not just a matter of dealing with Wang Zhilin, even taking out the entire Wang Family was just a word away for him. There was no need for Su Yanyi to waste so much energy and create so many complications, which he found very troubleso and inevitably added to his worries. There was a brief silence on Qin Jiran’s end, as if he was digesting the news or trying to calm his violently beating heart.
Qin Jiran held the phone tightly, and with a voice that seed heavily suppressed, he tried to sound composed as he asked, "Are you really okay? You’re not hurt in any way?"
"No, nothing at all." Su Yanyi replied with certainty. Everything had been arranged by her; how could anything happen to her? The mont the assassin with the dagger rushed at her, he had been subdued by the bodyguards hidden around her. It left her feeling quite speechless, thinking that she truly used a cleaver to kill a chicken, or more accurately that the opponent wasn’t even a chicken, at best a chick—if not, why would the weapon of choice be just a dagger? Was this so kind of joke? It was just too unprofessional!
"...Then can I co see you now? I need to see you with my own eyes." He wouldn’t rest easy until he saw her for himself.
