Qin Zhenli, who took the stage last, was quite astute in his approach. Rather than explicitly explain anything, he expressed his respect for his two older brothers and then emphatically spoke of Old Mr. Qin’s dying wish for the brothers to work together and help each other, so that Qin Corporation could flourish even more. In conclusion, he offered his blessings to Old Mr. Qin and to Qin Corporation.
The speeches from the three took nearly an hour, and the reporters all showed varying changes in expression. After the speeches concluded, it was ti for the reporters to ask their questions.
A leading reporter from Dragon dia bluntly inquired, "May I ask if you personally took part in arranging Elder Qin’s funeral? If so, which part did you handle, or was it only the financial contribution?"
This question, laden with sarcasm, caused the mbers of the Qin family to look quite displeased. However, it elicited laughter from the other reporters, who also displayed mockery in their smiles.
It’s not that these people were heartless enough to laugh during the discussion of funeral arrangents. Rather, they, as seasoned reporters in the dia circles, saw right through the Qin family’s charade. The reporter who asked the question was particularly sharp, hitting the nail on the head and prompting involuntary laughter from the others.
Perhaps it was the obviousness of the reporters’ laughter or perhaps it was the guilt the mbers of the Qin family felt themselves, but, regardless, their complexions were not looking good.
"Please be more cautious in your choice of words, reporter," Qin Zhenren snapped, standing up looking displeased. His words seed to be a warning as much as a threat.
Yet, such a threat carried little weight against the reporter specifically sent by Dragon dia. Rather, it gave him an opportunity to seize a hold on the Qin family’s weakness.
"Mr. Qin Zhenren, are you threatening ?" the reporter from Dragon dia asked. "My questions are just that, questions—my doubts, as well as the public’s. You can choose not to answer, you may deny them or you may choose to honestly admit them, but please do not threaten . Should anything happen to in the future, can I consider it to be orchestrated by you?" The reporter from Dragon dia wasn’t just any reporter. His goal was clearly not just to ask questions, but to provoke trouble on purpose.
"Absurd! Which dia are you from? Who let you in here? You’re here to cause trouble, aren’t you? Security..." Qin Zhenren was said to be unfit for great tasks, for his character couldn’t bear the slightest disadvantage. He exploded at the slightest provocation, just like today’s all-important press conference where he lost his cool, which did not bode well for bearing the responsibility of leading the large Qin Corporation.
Qin Zhenyi and Qin Zhenli were relatively calm and imdiately stepped forward to stop Qin Zhenren’s outburst. Qin Zhenli even explained to all the reporters present, "Ladies and gentlen, our father has just passed away. My older brother is upset, and his emotions are understandably a bit out of control. Let him go and rest for now. If you have any questions, I will answer them on behalf of Qin Corporation."
Without a doubt, Qin Zhenli handled the situation quite smoothly. Though it appeared that he had taken on a ss, being able to step forward on behalf of Qin Corporation and take his older brother’s place naturally increased his visibility.
The questions that followed from the reporters were no less unforgiving, leaving Qin Zhenyi and Qin Zhenli with ashen faces. Despite this, they withstood the pressure without making the situation too awkward. Even the reporter from Dragon dia, who asked a few tricky questions, did not push too hard.
However, the outco of this press conference was clearly not what the Qin family had anticipated. Although so dia not under Dragon dia’s control did not use overly unfavorable language to report the event, they did not speak well of the Qin family either. The dia outlets controlled by Dragon dia, on the other hand, followed up their straightforward reports with question-form analysis and expressed doubts.
