Su Yanyi couldn’t help but stretch out her finger to gently poke Little Bun’s head, this ti being very careful not to use too much force, as she hadn’t expected Little Bun’s skin to be so tender.
"This is my brother’s child, isn’t it?" Su Yanyi asked, although she already had an answer in her mind, she still wanted to confirm it one last ti.
"Although we haven’t had final confirmation, it should be." The answer ca from Father Su, who also beca more serious, and the final confirmation he was referring to was a DNA test.
"Should we do it? What about the child’s mother?" Su Yanyi continued to inquire.
"Whether to do it or not will be decided by your brother. The child’s mother passed away not long ago due to cancer. The child was brought here by a friend of his mother, supposedly fulfilling the mother’s last wish." Father Su continued, also feeling unexpected about this turn of events. Su Yanmo, having a child who had been out in the world, and already five years old, seed even older than the ti Su Yanmo got married.
"What’s your na, how old are you this year, and do you know who I am?" Su Yanyi asked, turning her questions towards the child.
Little Bun blinked his eyes, the expression on his face extrely serious, and he articulated every word clearly, "My na is Su Nuo, Su as in Su Shi, Nuo as in promise. I am five years old by nominal age, four by actual age..." Upon reaching this point, Little Bun paused, as if pondering the last question. Nobody rushed him, and after thinking for a mont, he continued, "Should I call you Auntie? If you are Auntie, does that an you are Daddy’s little sister?"
Clearly, Little Bun was very smart, understanding much from the adults’ conversation, which made Su Yanyi quite pleased.
"Do you know who your father is?" Su Yanyi asked again.
Little Bun nodded his head eagerly, saying with anticipation, "Daddy’s na is Su Yanmo, a very impressive and outstanding person. I have seen Daddy’s photo... you look a bit like him."
When Little Bun said the last sentence, his voice lowered, and he sneakily glanced at Su Yanyi, as if checking whether his words had upset her.
"Do you want to see Daddy?" Hearing Little Bun say this, Su Yanyi softened her tone a bit, hence Little Bun truly was a child of the Su family, both smart and sensible. His mother had raised him well, though she wondered why there had never been any contact with the Su family. However, this was not the ti to ask such a question, inappropriate in front of the child who, despite his young age, was aware of his surroundings—she naturally took note to be careful.
"Yes!" This ti, Little Bun’s voice was much louder, his answer without any hesitation, his eyes brimming with hope.
Seeing this scene, all Su family mbers, including Su Yanyi, felt a softening in their hearts and a bit of heartache. They thought of how the child had grown up without a father’s care and must have been missing sothing, especially for Qin Jiran, an orphan himself, who understood all too well the pain of being without parents, causing him to cherish Xiao Su Nuo even more.
At that mont, Su Yanyi’s emotions had settled down. The sudden appearance of this child, coupled with the System’s exasperating Upgrade Task, made her feel that this Christmas was indeed extraordinary!
"Daddy will be back soon, and then Xiao Su Nuo will be able to see Daddy," said the tender words, unsurprisingly not from Su Yanyi, but Mother Su, who had taken Little Bun from the old man’s arms and was now holding him in her own, taking care of him.
Unlike the conflicted feelings of happiness and entanglent of the other Su family mbers, Mother Su had no such conflicts. She adored this unexpected little gift, which was like a dream co true, filling half her life with fulfillnt!
