On Christmas day, in the morning, Su Yanyi and Qin Jiran still stuck to their routine exercise. Su Yanyi’s moves beca increasingly sharp, and Qin Jiran’s beca increasingly valiant. They had grown familiar with each other’s moves and strength, so it beca rare for them to accidentally hurt one another. Naturally, if soone did get hurt, it was always Qin Jiran at the hands of Su Yanyi. He could never bring himself to strike Su Yanyi with full force.
After their workout, Qin Jiran went to the kitchen to make breakfast, while Su Yanyi returned to her room for a shower and to change clothes, then waited to eat.
The breakfast was as lavish as usual. However, since it was Christmas, Qin Jiran specially prepared apple pies for Su Yanyi.
"Since they say you should eat apples on Christmas, I made you a few apple pies," Qin Jiran said as he packed the apple pies into a lunchbox. These were pastries that Su Yanyi could eat during her breaks at work, and such preparations were almost a daily occurrence, with a variety of choices.
"Christmas lasts for three days; the first day, which was yesterday, Christmas Eve, is when you eat apples," Su Yanyi corrected him with more knowledge on the subject. However, she still took the lunchbox with her, looking pleased as she went off to work.
Outside the villa, Pan Yan was already waiting. Seeing the familiar lunchbox in Su Yanyi’s hands, she smiled knowingly, her expression revealing a hint of envy. Best Actor Qin was so thoughtful and considerate; truly, he was the ideal candidate for husband of the year.
Initially, Pan Yan didn’t realize these pastries were made by Qin Jiran. She thought they were prepared by the servants of the Su family and figured that since President Su enjoyed such snacks, it would be good to have so on hand in the future.
She only learned the truth after a casual conversation with Kang Zhong when she ntioned President Su’s preference, and that was when she found out these pastries were personally made by Qin Jiran. Kang Zhong knew this because he had directly asked President Su, and the fact turned out to be just so, which made Pan Yan even more envious. From ti to ti, she would cast a critical eye over Kang Zhong, who was actually quite good to her, but had never personally made any food for her. Compared to Best Actor Qin, he indeed lacked warmth, considerateness, and dostic skills.
Kang Zhong was unaware that he was being looked down upon by the woman he liked due to Best Actor Qin’s dostic prowess; but even if he knew, he probably couldn’t emulate Qin Jiran’s dedication and commitnt. It wasn’t that he didn’t love her but that their ways of expressing love were different, or perhaps the depth of love varied too.
Upon arriving at the office, Su Yanyi brought the lunchbox in with her. People at Splendid Entertainnt had grown accustod to seeing her like this, and thanks to so gossipy individuals, everyone at Splendid knew that the lunchbox President Su carried every day was personally prepared by Best Actor Qin and that it contained a variety of pastries, which surprised and envied them—especially the won, who lanted why they couldn’t find such a considerate man.
After entering her office, Pan Yan and Kang Zhong reported their work to her, and once they left, Su Yanyi placed her hand on the lunchbox. The next mont, the lunchbox disappeared, now tucked away into her System Space. She didn’t do this to hide it but because the System Space had a freshness-preserving feature. Whatever was put inside would remain exactly the sa when taken out. If she wasn’t worried about arousing unnecessary suspicion, she would have placed it in the space while still at ho.
Actually, Su Yanyi hadn’t thought about using the space to store food at first. It was only after a casual conversation with Zero Zero One that she discovered this feature of the System. By that ti, everyone at the company was aware that she brought a lunchbox to work every day. So, to avoid arousing any suspicion, she would only put the pastries into the space after arriving at the company.
