And the third son of the Qin family sent a text ssage to Zhang Yuanzhuo, who then took advantage of Old Master Qin’s resting mont to call Qin number three. The content of this call was of course extrely confidential and after the call was made, the expression on Qin number three’s face was very unsightly. He sat in his office for a long ti, pondering over so issue.
As for Qin number two, he had no connection with Old Master Qin’s lawyer and had never thought about bribing an assistant. However, he was very curious to know what Old Master Qin, Qin Jiran, and Su Yanyi had discussed, particularly if it was related to the inheritance. So, after much thought, Qin number two approached Qin Jiran!
When Qin Zhenyi made the call, Qin Jiran was busy filming, and the assistant, Jiang Xiaobin, who was responsible for answering the phone, picked up without hesitation. However, this was a work phone, not Qin Jiran’s personal number, so Jiang Xiaobin took the call readily. But once the caller identified himself, Jiang Xiaobin regretted his quick reflexes.
If he had known who it was, he would have thrown the phone away and definitely not answered it!
Jiang Xiaobin was also an orphan who grew up with Qin Jiran in the orphanage. He understood the hardships of being an orphan all too well. And knowing that Qin Jiran had been sent to the orphanage by his biological father filled him with even more hatred for the mbers of the Qin family. In his eyes, the Qin family mbers were symbols of inhumanity; otherwise, how could they bear to send a newborn child to an orphanage!
However much Jiang Xiaobin disliked the family, he had to deal with the call from this mber of the Qin family—it was, after all, Qin Jiran’s family matter, and he wasn’t in a position to ddle.
"Mr. Qin, Brother Qin is currently filming and does not have ti to take your call. When he’s available, I’ll let him know that you called," said Jiang Xiaobin with the tact of an increasingly professional assistant. If the caller had been an important person, Jiang Xiaobin would have suggested that Qin Jiran return the call. But this Mr. Qin was clearly not amongst those welcod warmly, so Jiang Xiaobin only promised to inform. As for the outco, it wasn’t sothing he could guarantee.
Qin Zhenyi on the other end of the call clearly understood this as well, his brow furrowing with displeasure. He hadn’t expected a re assistant to give him the cold shoulder and wasn’t sure if this was the assistant’s own idea or if it ca from Qin Jiran.
Qin Zhenyi thought a lot in that mont but figured that Qin Jiran probably didn’t expect him to call. He assud it was probably the assistant’s prerogative. After all, no matter what, he was Qin Jiran’s father, and Qin Zhenyi refused to believe that Qin Jiran didn’t wish to return to his ancestral roots!
Both Old Master Qin Enci and Qin Zhenyi, Qin Jiran’s biological father, were rather traditional in their thinking. In their eyes, recognizing one’s lineage and returning to one’s roots were immutable human beliefs, and no matter what, the younger generation should not oppose their elders. This was also why mbers of the Qin family acted superior in front of Qin Jiran.
Qin Zhenyi angrily hung up the phone. Even if he was dissatisfied, he could hardly vent his anger on a low-level assistant—but this grudge he couldn’t swallow was clearly sothing he intended to take out on Qin Jiran!
