"Don’t be so affectionate; it might lead to misunderstandings, Miss Wang," Su Yanyi said, very bluntly. The aning was also clear in her words—the use of ’grandfather’ by Wang Zhirou clearly displeased her.
It must be said that from a certain perspective, Su Yanyi could be very petty, even caring about such formalities as a title. But whenever she thought of how these people had treated Qin Jiran, she refused to show them any respect at all.
A glint of darkness flashed in Wang Zhirou’s eyes, well concealed, yet with an air of pitifulness, she turned toward the silent Su Yanmo and said, "Yanmo, I just wanted to celebrate grandfather’s birthday, that’s all. Isn’t that permissible? After all, our two families are supposed to be old friends, aren’t they?"
Wang Zhirou was actually quite pretty, and her pitiful look quite moving. If the person she faced were normal, she would at least gain so sympathy.
But, the ones she was facing, the siblings of the Su family, were never quite normal.
"No," Su Yanmo said coldly, his refusal firm and unwavering, which was really cool.
The mbers of the Su family never lived for the opinions of others; their first priority was to be responsible to themselves. That’s why they lived freely and at ease, and it was why they raised a child like Su Yanyi—who cared only about her own family mbers and was equally cold towards enemies.
Why would they give face to soone who was scheming to harm their own family? To Su Yanmo and Su Yanyi, the Wang Family was an existence that needed to be eliminated; there was absolutely no need to have a proper conversation with them.
"Su Yanmo, you’re Zhirou’s ex-husband; treating us like this, aren’t you afraid people will say you’re too heartless? That the Su family is unfeeling and callous?" Wang Zhirou’s mother stood out indignantly, accusing.
"Should I tell everyone what Wang Zhirou has done? I still have the video of her stealing company docunts in my study," Su Yanmo said. He really found the Wang family mbers foolish—Mr. Wang and Mrs. Wang foolishly thought they could control the Su family with a beauty trap, utterly absurd. And Wang Zhirou was foolish to think she could stealthily steal docunts from his company, unaware that he was in the intelligence business; how could he possibly be ignorant of such a thing? He just didn’t care much in the past, considering it trivial, but he hadn’t realized the Wang family’s ambitions were so grand until he had to take action.
In reality, Su Yanmo had long known that Wang Zhirou had peeked at the company’s docunts. The Wang family’s use of the information only made them a bit more money and hadn’t done anything to harm the Su’s. So, he hadn’t been overly concerned. However, with Su Yanyi’s reminder and a subsequent thorough investigation, he discovered the Wang family’s far-reaching sche, even placing spies within Su Enterprises, posing a potential threat to his family. That’s when he took it seriously.
Wang Zhirou’s face turned pale in an instant, and a look of panic flashed across her face, but she still tried to appear calm, saying, "What are you talking about? What docunts? I have no idea what you an. Could there be so misunderstanding?"
"Yes, there must be so misunderstanding. After all, you suddenly divorced Zhirou, were you swayed by soone? Yanmo, you’re young, and inexperienced in many things. Trust is the most important thing between husband and wife; you can’t just listen to one side," Wang Zhirou’s mother also chid in, portraying herself as completely innocent and only looking out for Su Yanmo’s best interests, making both Su Yanmo and Su Yanyi feel disgusted.
"Pretentious." With that cold remark, Su Yanyi turned and left. If it weren’t for her grandfather’s birthday today, which she didn’t want to spoil, she would have had the Wang family thrown out—such was her revulsion.
