Chapter 47 Please, have so damn self-awareness!
While An Liang was guessing that Liu Xinyi might be in so kind of trouble, Liu Xinyi began to explain.
“I accidentally stumbled upon sothing just now, and now there are two people chasing . If we walk together, they’ll probably hesitate, right?” Liu Xinyi explained.
An Liang asked in return, “Why would they?”
“You’re really not cute at all, kid!”
Liu Xinyi rolled her eyes at him.
She continued, “Is your heart really a barren desert with not a single tree, or are you just pretending to be dumb?”
Before An Liang could respond, Liu Xinyi went on, “Kid, just look at yourself—covered head to toe in GG logos, wearing a Patek Philippe on your wrist worth over a million, and surrounded by several guys who look like bodyguards. Why do you think they wouldn’t hesitate?”
“Wow, big sis, you’re really observant!” An Liang replied with mock surprise.
“Does it even need observation?” Liu Xinyi retorted helplessly.
“Oh right, big sis, what exactly did you stumble upon?” An Liang asked curiously.
Liu Xinyi hesitated for a mont before replying, “Would you believe if I said I didn’t see clearly?”
“Why wouldn’t I believe you?” An Liang asked.
Liu Xinyi started to explain, “Roughly, I rented a car and parked it in an underground parking garage. I wasn’t familiar with the area and couldn’t find the elevator, so I took the stairs. Then I ran into two n exchanging a black box in the stairwell. I didn’t even get a clear look before they started chasing .”
“If I hadn’t run fast enough, I might’ve ended up as another missing tourist!” She added.
An Liang stopped and glanced behind him, and sure enough, he saw two middle-aged n—already being blocked by Ma Chai. When An Liang looked back, Ma Chai quickly approached him.
After glancing at Liu Xinyi, he spoke in Thai, “Mr. An, we’ve stopped two suspects involved in the powder business.”
“Bring them over,” An Liang ordered in Thai. Then he looked towards a nearby cold drink shop and led Liu Xinyi inside. The two suspects were also brought in.
“What would you like to drink, big sis?” An Liang asked Liu Xinyi.
Liu Xinyi pointed to a mango drink pictured on the nu and said, “A mango juice, please.”
An Liang gave the order in Thai, then sat in a corner booth. Looking at the two suspects, he asked, “Why were you chasing her?”
The one on the left replied, “She recorded our transaction with her phone. We were just trying to get her to delete the video.”
“Oh?” An Liang hesitated.
That story didn’t match Liu Xinyi’s version at all.
She said she accidentally ca across their deal and was chased afterward. But these guys were claiming she actually recorded it. What the heck?
An Liang then used his character info scanning system to check Liu Xinyi’s friendliness score, which was still at 60 points—aning they were just regular friends. He directly asked her, “Big sis, did you record their transaction?”
While asking, he kept an eye on the friendliness score in the system. If it dropped, it might an she was lying and had actually fild it. But her score didn’t drop at all.
Liu Xinyi also denied it.
“I didn’t! How could I even have ti to record anything?”
“Here, take a look at my phone yourself!” She said, unlocking her phone and handing it to An Liang.
He actually checked, and simultaneously monitored the friendliness score again—still unchanged. She seed to be telling the truth. After checking, An Liang found no trace of any transaction video on her phone. Sure, it was possible she had recorded sothing and already sent it off before deleting the file, but that seed unlikely.
“I’ve already checked her phone—there’s no video. Where exactly were you supposedly fild? I’ll have soone pull the relevant surveillance footage,” An Liang said in Thai.
“Even if the footage doesn’t fully capture you, we can calculate the tiline. I’m sure there are caras at the parking garage entrance. We can check when she entered and exited the garage. That way, we can deduce whether she even had the ti to record a video,” he continued.
“So you’d better tell the truth. If you lie to and I find out later, you’ll regret it,” An Liang threatened.
The suspect on the right nervously blurted out, “I’ll talk! Palau thought she was pretty and wanted to kidnap her!”
“Shut up!” The one on the left, Palau, grunted coldly.
“So you really falsely accused her!” An Liang sighed.
Looks like a pretty solo traveler in Thailand really was at risk.
“Ma Chai, how should we handle this?” An Liang asked.
