They look at the direction of the fireball and a giant lizard the sa size as a dog was seen, it looks like a chaleon, upon seeing it, the rcenaries started retreating instantly.
One of them shouted “It’s the Color Changing Paralytic Lizard, everyone stay away, it’s bite could paralyzed you.”
Shadowslash on the other hand wasn’t worried, the two elven sisters have always been focusing towards their group.
Even though they were participating in the fight against the goblin, they weren’t truly worried about their attacks as the goblins were too weak to be a threat to them.
The two of them quickly retreated and approaches Shadowslash and his group, they look at the surrounding and asks “Are there more coming.”
Shadowslash looks at different direction and said in a calm manner but his words made those that were close to pale “At least a thousand is approaching, I am only counting those that are close.”
Suddenly, he stood up and grabs the two children before jumping high, the two elven sisters were confused but they still follow his lead.
With a loud boom, the ground started shaking making everyone disoriented, the two elven sisters looks at each other and could see amazent on their eyes.
Shadowslash looks at the direction of the center of the forest “It seems that the city lord and the guild master have t an enemy.”
He was frowning behind the mask, such event shouldn’t happen before at least a hundred of goblins are killed.
His expression beca serious as he looks at the direction of the city, he suddenly looks at the cave and he gathers a massive amount of light and transform it into holy elent before firing it into the cave.
The sudden change of event stunned everyone, with a loud explosion, a howl of grief could be heard, Shadowslash instantly said “We’re returning ho, we aren’t fighting monsters but demons.”
He grabs the two and made a run for it, when the two elven sisters heard what he had just said, their expression beca pale, they focus at the cave’s entrance and felt their legs weakened.
Even though this world is mostly dominated by humans, there is a much powerful race present, dragons and elves are too reclusive, their strength might be great but their population is their downside.
Demons are exact opposite, they have the sa speed or even greater reproduction rate as humans does but their intelligence aren’t that great, they compensate this with strength, that is why most humans are afraid of them.
If it weren’t for the church of the brilliant god which contains mages and paladins that has the natural elent of light and holy that is the nesis of dark and demon, humans would have been long beaten by the demon race.
Shadowslash who was running away frowns, he jumps to the side dodging a long tongue, he quickly returns to the group and said “It is too late, we are surrounded!”
The rcenaries were startled by his shout, they look at the surrounding and saw nothing, anwhile, the two elven sisters instantly believes him.
They shot multiple arrows at their surrounding and so of them were thrown back by an invisible being, the expression of the rcenaries turned ashen.
Shadowslash looks at the direction of the city and said “We need to survive this battle, if we are annihilated, then the city wouldn’t last long.”
The knights and the rcenaries that have family mbers back on the city trembles slightly.
Shadowslash approaches the general and asks “General, is there anyone back in the city that is at least as strong as you.”
The general was startled but hearing his question, he nodded “There are hidden guardians of the city, they cannot be commanded but they would protect the city if there is any danger to it.”
Shadowslash nodded “I hadn’t expected that the demons would use the goblins as a disguise for their activities.”
The general was shocked “Demons?! Are you saying that we are currently fighting against a demon?!”
All of a sudden laughter could be heard, then a being standing three ters tall ca out of the cave, he actually crawls out, he doesn’t care about the arrows shot at it.
He continues to laugh “We didn’t expect to be discovered so soon but oh well, at least we have the strength to destroy this weak human city after biding our ti for a couple of years.”
A goblin which is the sa height of a human and a bulky build appears, it was a goblin king, it couldn’t speak but it said sothing to the demon.
Shadowslash instantly knew that the two were working with each other, he now realised why the demons weren’t discovered, it’s because they aren’t controlling the goblins.
He was a bit surprised, after all, goblins are weak creatures and demons would disdain working as equals with such race but the current situation doesn’t states so.
The demons looks at the humans and jeered “What, do you want to dig out your eyes, this person in front of is a renowned guest of our race, with his existence, we now have the chance to destroy this kingdom.”
Shadowslash quickly understood the situation, he started laughing and inwardly felt that the demon is too stupid for saying such stupid thing.
The goblin king felt proud, it calls for it’s subordinates and two ogres appears, they are shorter than the demon but their build is still considered intimidating.
It then summoned an ugly looking thing, it was pulsating and radiates red energy that affected everything on it’s surrounding, Shadowslash beca curious, this is the first ti he had seen a magic spirit.
‘What the hell is this thing, it and the goblin king is connected, they share the sa lifeforce.’ The magic spirit seems to be a Nascent Soul but at the sa ti not.
It’s very existence made Shadowslash curious but he quickly snaps out of his deep thought, the rcenaries and knights started fidgeting as if they are in the verge of going crazy.
The demon started laughing once again “Hahaha, you weak and pitiful humans, tremble upon the skill [Insanity], unless you have soone that has such strong killing intent to offset the effect, you are helpless!”
‘Are demons truly this stupid?’ This type of thought flashes on Shadowslash’s mind.
