"Who are you looking down on? I can drink red wine," Anita said quietly. She thought Owen was laughing at her. After all, they had sex the first ti they t, and it was because of the wine.

Owen didn’t respond to Anita’s words. He just smiled and headed for the liquor cabinet in the storage room.

He usually didn’t drink and rarely went to social events, but he really wasn’t in a good mood today, after seeing his grandmother’s photo. This made Owen need an outlet to vent.

If Anita didn’t refuse, he could have soone accompanying him. This felt good too.

Owen walked to the wine cabinet. He carefully chose a bottle of wine. He opened it and poured two cups before taking them out.

"This is for you. The alcohol content of this wine isn’t very high, but the aftertaste is very rich. You can try it," Owen said as he placed the wine glass in front of Anita.

Anita picked up the glass of wine in front of her and took a sip.

Owen wanted to remind her that she wasn’t sober yet, but seeing how straightforward she was, he said, "Don’t drink so much. Although this alcohol content isn’t high, it’s easy to get drunk on it."

Anita didn’t take it seriously. She didn’t usually drink, so she didn’t know much about red wine. She just suddenly felt like drinking.

"I couldn’t tell, but this wine seems to be really good," Anita said while savoring the aftertaste of the wine.

"Well, there are a few more bottles in the liquor cabinet. We can take our ti," Owen said while stepping forward and taking the glass from Anita.

"Sure," Anita said with a burp.

Seeing Anita like this, Owen couldn’t help but smile and sit on the sofa. He reached out and stroked Anita’s hair.

"It feels like you’re petting a dog," Anita said suddenly.

"Anita, you’re so amusing." Owen laughed at Anita’s words and couldn’t help but pinch her cheek.

"Okay, okay, stop touching ." She didn’t know if she was really drunk or not, but she reached out and slapped the hand that Owen had placed on her face away.

"Okay... okay, I won’t tease you anymore. Let’s talk," Owen said after dropping his hand and taking a drink.

"Okay, Owen, you know what? Didn’t Zoey say that I had a boyfriend before we got married? We did live together for a few years. I really liked him then." Anita started to whisper when she got a little drunk.

Owen felt a pang in his heart as he listened to Anita. At the ti, he felt angry and sad too, but that hadn’t co from Anita’s mouth after all. It still felt different.

Anita just said that she had really liked that jerk.

At the ti, before Owen proposed the contract to get married, he had actually asked Bruce to investigate Anita, so he also knew that Anita had broken up with her jerk ex.

At that ti, he wondered how such a scumbag could make Anita like him. But now that the truth ca out of Anita’s mouth, it ant that they had an unforgettable past.

Owen suddenly shook hands to interrupt Anita.

"But he lied to and took away the money we’ve been saving for years. There’s also the song I wrote. It’s mine. Why did it beco soone else’s? No one believes ."

"That song was a testimony to our love. I composed the song bit by bit. He said it was nice at the ti, but why did things change all of a sudden?" Anita didn’t care if Owen responded, but she seed to want to say everything that was buried in her heart.

"Anita, it’s all in the past. Don’t be sad." Owen looked at Anita, who was getting more and more upset as she spoke. He couldn’t help but reach out and hug her.

"But Owen, I’m glad I bumped into you. So I don’t think life is hard anymore, because God is fair. If you lost one thing, God will definitely have to give you sothing else." Anita leaned into Owen’s arms and suddenly looked up and smiled.

"And, you know what, Owen? You’re so good and dazzling. I think Zoey was right the other day. I don’t think I’m good enough for you too." Before Owen could say anything, Anita continued.

As Owen listened to Anita’s words, he realized that she rembered everything Zoey had said that day. Only then did he realize how much it had hurt her. Owen quickly leaned closer to Anita to explain it to her.

Unexpectedly, the mont he approached her, she burped loudly.

The two of them were too close. The sll of Anita’s burp hit Owen’s face. If she were sober, she would have imdiately stood up nervously and apologized.

"But she’s drunk today." Owen said with a sigh of resignation, and he swallowed the words he wanted to say.

"I’m not drunk... I’m not drunk." Hearing Owen’s words, Anita stood up from his arms and picked up the glass to drink the rest of the red wine to prove that she wasn’t really drunk.

Looking at Anita’s quick actions, Owen didn’t even have ti to stop her before his glass of wine was emptied.

"Another glass. I can still drink," Anita said loudly again as she put down the glass.
