So, she secretly stopped Owen and asked, "This is?"
"This is my good friend Carl’s sister, and her na is Zoey. She ca by herself. I was afraid she would be lonely, so my mother brought her along today," Owen whispered in Anita’s ear.
After both sides had sat at the long table, Jacob and Silvia looked at Owen and Anita whispering to each other and chuckled.
No one noticed Zoey. The little girl looked unhappy sitting alone in her seat, especially when she saw Owen and his fiancée talking intimately.
"Owen, I missed you. I haven’t seen you in a long ti," Zoey said first and was unable to hide her loneliness.
"Zoey, this is Anita. Say hi," Owen said.
"Anita, hello. I’ve heard so much about you." Zoey turned and smiled at Anita.
"You know ?" Anita was surprised that the young woman knew her.
"Yes, of course I know you, Anita. I even know Eric," Zoey said while looking at Anita.
Upon suddenly hearing the na Eric, Anita froze. "Is that so?"
"Yes, I even know that he’s your ex-boyfriend. Didn’t you guys live together for four years? Anita, have you forgotten him so quickly?" Zoey suddenly said sharply.
Zoey’s voice startled both of their parents, who were exchanging pleasantries. Owen’s father spoke first. "Zoey, what are you doing? Sit down."
"You don’t know. You were all tricked by Anita." Zoey’s voice was filled with agitation as she continued, "Anita had a boyfriend. Did you guys know that? And they lived together for four years."
Everyone was stunned, especially Anita and her parents. At this mont, Anita finally understood why this beautiful girl was here.
"Zoey, what are you doing? Don’t talk nonsense," Owen was the first to speak.
"Why didn’t you let tell you, Owen? Are you afraid that your parents would know? Or did you simply not know that she had a boyfriend who lived with her?" Zoe said aggressively.
Anita looked at her parents first. They were also looking at her with worry on their faces, but overall, they were quite calm. Only then did Anita relax.
"Zoey, I did have a boyfriend and we lived together for four years, but what has that got to do with you?" Anita said.
"What? Owen is like a brother to and I admire him. You’re not worthy of him at all. Besides, who knows what your motive is in marrying Owen?" Zoey said loudly again. "Are you coveting Owen’s money? Tell ."
"Zoey, shut up. If you say anything else, I’ll send soone to send you back imdiately," Owen’s father, Jacob, said in a harsh voice.
Zoey did not expect Jacob, who always doted on her, to say such a thing. She could not accept it and hurried to Sylvia’s side. "Auntie, I’m telling the truth."
Seeing that Mrs. Sylvia did not react, Zoey said boldly, "Auntie, Anita really isn’t worthy of Owen."
"Zoey, go back now. Owen, send soone to send her back to her room imdiately," Sylvia said angrily.
Owen was angry too. Normally, it was one thing to let Zoey off the hook for a few petty argunts, but he didn’t think she would go so far as to say sothing so indiscreet. "Zoey, you better get back to your room or I’ll have your brother pick you up tomorrow."
Zoey did not expect her ticulously prepared revelation to end just like that. She was filled with anger and had nowhere to vent it, but now, everyone was on Anita’s side. Even if she was unhappy, she could not say anything.
"Zoey," Owen called out again with a hint of anger when he saw that she still wasn’t moving.
Left with no choice, Zoey stomped her feet and left. When she reached the door of the private room, she even glared at Anita.
As soon as Zoey left, Owen’s parents hurriedly stood up and apologized to Anita’s parents. "I’m so sorry. Our good friend’s child is rebellious and speaks nonsense. Please don’t mind."
Anita’s father was the first to speak. "Jacob, I saw your attitude just now. Originally, I didn’t agree with this matter. The two of them got married too quickly, but now, I’m relieved."
After saying that, Anita’s father even picked up the wine glass in front of him and drank it all.
When Jacob saw this, he picked up his glass and finished it as well. "Thank you for your understanding and thank you for raising a child as good as Anita. More importantly, thank you for agreeing to marry her to Owen."
