Sitting in the office, Joan confird that the curtains were all drawn before clicking on the video.
On the other hand, Owen was still worried about Anita. He sat in the car and called Anita’s parents first.
"Owen, why are you calling?" Anita’s mother didn’t expect Owen to suddenly call her, so she said in surprise.
"Nothing. I just wanted to ask how you and Dad have been recently. Anita and I miss you guys." Owen didn’t dare to tell them directly that he couldn’t find Anita, so he could only ask tactfully.
"We’re all fine. Co back and visit when you have ti," Anita’s mother said with a smile as she listened to Owen.
"Yeah, okay. If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up first. We’ll go back when we have ti." Anita’s mom’s words made Owen realize that Anita probably hadn’t gone ho, so he said quickly.
"Yes, okay." Anita’s mom smiled too and hung up.
"Honey, Owen just called . Do you think he quarreled with Anita?" After hanging up, Anita’s mom turned to Anita’s father and said worriedly.
"What are you thinking about? The child is just concerned about us. Don’t think too much about it," Anita’s father said while glancing at her.
"Well, it seems like I’m thinking too much about it. The two children haven’t been back for a long ti," Anita’s mother turned around and said softly to herself.
On the other end, Owen hung up, then started the car and drove ho. He was 80% certain that Anita was at ho.
He quickly arrived at the neighborhood and parked the car. He almost forgot to pull out the car key. When he got out of the car, he realized sothing and quickly turned around to get the car key before running upstairs.
"Anita, you’re really ho? Why didn’t you answer my calls?" Owen said anxiously as he ran upstairs and opened the door to see Anita sitting on the sofa.
"Owen, why are you back? My phone was turned on silent in the laboratory. I forgot to turn it back on," Anita said as she took the phone from the dining room table to look at it. As expected, there were a lot of missed calls from Owen.
"It’s fine, as long as you’re okay," Owen said as he hugged Anita.
"What’s wrong with you? Don’t be afraid. I’m fine," Anita said gently while looking at Owen.
"Why? Why didn’t you tell Eric went to school to find you?" Owen asked Anita when he finally cald down.
"How did you find out?"
"Don’t worry about how I know. I asked you why you didn’t tell . Did Eric co to school to look for you yesterday?" Owen asked Anita again.
"Well, I just didn’t want you to worry," Anita said quietly while glancing at Owen as well.
"You didn’t want to worry, so you didn’t tell ? What about today? What did he do at school today? And why are you at ho when you should be doing experints at school at this ti? Tell honestly, what did he do?" Owen said while holding Anita’s shoulder.
"It’s really nothing. Don’t ask."
"Anita, don’t be afraid. I’m with you. We said before that if we encounter any more problems, we have to face them together. Can you tell ?" Seeing that Anita was hesitant to say anything, Owen looked at her again and said seriously.
"Owen, I’m sorry. It’s not that I won’t tell you. It’s just that I didn’t expect Eric to co to school to find . And he made up a story at school today. Not only did he insult my ntor, but he even took a video."
"He also wants to release this video at your company’s new product launch." Anita thought about Owen’s words and finally revealed the truth.
"Hmph, release this video at the press conference? He sure talks big." Owen listened to Anita and snorted before continuing. "So that’s why you left school? Why didn’t you tell ?"
"Yes, I just didn’t know how to tell you. He said that it would take two million for him to delete the video, but I don’t have two million," Anita said softly again.
"Are you a fool? You’re giving him two million just because he wants two million?" Owen took two steps forward when he heard Anita’s words and stroked her head twice before smiling again. "Don’t worry about this. I’ll handle it."
