"I... I don’t know. Owen, you know, I really can’t stand it when people betray ," Anita finally couldn’t control her emotions and said with tears in her eyes.
"Anita, look in the eye. How did I betray you? You can’t convict based on a few photos." Owen was sad to hear Anita say so.
He had thought that there was trust between the two of them, but he didn’t expect Anita to deny his feelings for her just based on these few photos.
"Owen, can photos be fake? You two were smiling so happily when you t at Xiyue Restaurant. What do you want to think?" Anita said sadly to Owen.
Owen reached out and held her arm when he heard Anita’s words. "Anita, listen to . I can explain to you why Miranda and I t, but I hope you can trust and not doubt our relationship just because of a few photos."
"No, I don’t know. I don’t know how to trust you. Owen, can you not lie to ?" Anita subconsciously shook her head when she heard Owen’s words. She had really been deceived too many tis and was really afraid.
"Anita, I’m telling you now. I asked Miranda to et because of Eric." Owen saw how sad Anita was, so he finally said.
"Eric? What does this have to do with Eric?" Anita said in confusion.
"Do you rember that we had a disagreent before you went overseas? That was because I saw the ssage Eric sent you on your phone. He wanted to get back together with you and said a lot of things. I deleted the ssage in a mont of anger," Owen said without looking at Anita.
Anita froze when she heard Owen’s words. She hadn’t expected their unhappy episode to have anything to do with Eric.
"I was too embarrassed to tell you that I deleted his ssage, but then I was afraid he would harass you again, so I asked Bruce to get soone to investigate Eric, but I didn’t expect you to go to England before the results of the investigation were out."
"Later, because so of the things that were investigated were also related to Miranda, I asked Bruce to ask Miranda out because I wanted to tell her sothing about Eric, too."
"And that includes the photo you saw taken downstairs at our company. That’s because Miranda is the spokesperson for our company’s new electronic product. She ca to the company to sign the contract."
"I’ll show you the contract tomorrow. That’s what happened. Can you believe now?" Owen explained in one breath before looking at Anita again.
What he had just said was indeed all true, except for the fact that he didn’t say the real reason he was looking for Miranda. It was because only Miranda could legitimately deal with Eric and make him unable to appear in front of Anita again in the future.
There was a lot of information, and it was different from what she thought. Anita was stunned by Owen’s words. Then, she looked at him and asked, "Owen, you’re not lying to , and what you said is true?"
"Yes, I swear I’m telling the truth. You can investigate if you don’t believe ," Owen said to Anita seriously.
"Owen, I believe you." Anita thought about it for a long ti before finally looking up at Owen with even more determination in her eyes. "Thank you for not making lose faith in love, and thank you for making believe in my choice more firmly."
"Silly, if sothing like this happens again, you have to ask directly, okay? I don’t want us to have a misunderstanding because of these things and let it affect our relationship." Owen saw Anita’s serious look and reached out to scratch her nose before finally smiling.
"Yeah." Anita nodded heavily, then threw herself into his arms again.
Owen hadn’t expected Anita to suddenly throw herself into his arms, so he staggered from her sudden hug and fell onto the sofa.
Anita was stunned, too. She didn’t expect her movent to be so big that both of them fell onto the sofa.
At first, it was nothing, but then she saw Owen lying under her and staring at her with bright eyes. For a mont, she was embarrassed and wanted to stand up quickly.
"What are you going to do?" Owen saw Anita struggle to stand, and he used both hands to trap her against him again.
"Owen... let go of ." Anita blushed even more when she saw Owen holding her hands firmly and staring at her.
"Be good. Don’t move. Let hug you. I really miss you," Owen said softly to Anita.
