"ntor, you’re back." Anita saw her ntor first and quickly stood up.
"Why are you here? Aren’t you going to England for a business trip? Aren’t you going to pack your things?" the ntor asked Anita.
"I’m already packed. I’m here to say goodbye to you. Thank you for giving this opportunity to study overseas," Anita said as she smiled at her ntor.
"You fought for the opportunity yourself. Seize it." The ntor glanced at Anita and continued, "Don’t stay with . Hurry up and go."
Anita watched as her ntor started to chase her away and smiled helplessly. She picked up her bag and walked out the door. "I’ll get going, then. Take care of yourself and your wife."
When Anita was out of sight, her ntor shook his head helplessly.
"Why are you shaking your head?" The ntor’s wife looked at her husband’s actions and asked curiously.
"It’s okay, I’m just tired. Hurry up and pack up. Let’s go ho." The ntor retracted his gaze and smiled at his wife.
Anita left her ntor’s ho and headed for the laboratory.
At this mont, there were very few people in school. Most of them were in class, and the road was quiet.
Anita unconsciously slowed down. She rarely had ti to look around the campus. Most of the ti, she was in a hurry to get to her class.
Today, she finally had ti. No one was rushing her, so she wasn’t in a hurry. She walked slowly along the tree-lined path from the school to the laboratory. It was a long and arduous journey. She walked for more than 40 minutes before she reached the laboratory.
When she reached the laboratory door, she didn’t go in. She called Jack out.
"Anita, what’s wrong? Why didn’t you go in?" After Jack hung up, he saw Anita as soon as he ca out of the laboratory door and asked curiously.
"It’s okay, Jack. I just ca to tell you that I’m going to England for a few days. It might be hard on you to do the subsequent experints alone," Anita said with a smile as she looked at Jack.
"Business trip? Why so sudden? I didn’t hear you say so before," Jack asked anxiously when he heard that Anita was going on a business trip again.
"I’m sorry, this decision was made in a hurry, but don’t worry, I’ll catch up with the rest of the experints as soon as possible. I won’t hold you back," Anita added.
"What are you talking about? We’re partners. I definitely won’t see you fall behind. It’s just, Anita, did sothing happen to you?" Jack asked Anita with concern.
Anita really didn’t want to answer anymore. The most she had heard in the past two days was soone asking her what had happened.
She wanted to say that she was good. She just wanted to calm down, think about things and sort out her relationship with Owen, but she couldn’t. She still just smiled at Jack. "Nothing happened to . It was arranged by my ntor. I just ca to tell you. I’ll get going now."
Anita didn’t want to continue. She gave a simple explanation and turned to leave.
"Anita, take care of yourself. Have a safe trip and co back early." Jack didn’t feel that Anita seed right when he looked at her, but he knew he couldn’t ask, so he just smiled.
Anita didn’t respond to Jack’s words. She just waved her hand with her back facing him.
After she was done, Anita confird again that the plane ticket was for seven in the evening. She went ho, pushed out her packed luggage, and took a taxi to the airport.
As she sat in the car, she held her phone and thought about it. Should she tell Owen?
But by the ti she reached the airport, it was almost ti to board. She hadn’t thought about what to say yet. She was afraid that if she sent Owen a ssage, he wouldn’t reply or would send sothing she didn’t want to see.
If that was the case, she would be even sadder. But when she sat in the waiting room and listened to the radio, she hesitated again.
Then she pulled out her phone and sent Owen a ssage. "Owen, my flight is at 7."
She relaxed after the ssage was sent. Whether Owen would reply to her or not, she wouldn’t think about it. But before she could put her phone in her bag after the ssage was sent, the phone rang.
Owen called her. "Anita, are you at the airport?"
"I’m already at the airport and I’m about to board," Anita said and was stunned by Owen’s anxious voice.
"What? Why didn’t you send a ssage sooner? Why didn’t you wait for to send you off? You don’t want to see that much?" Owen admitted that when he saw Anita’s ssage, he imdiately lost it.
At that mont, he imdiately felt a huge sense of crisis. He suddenly wanted to ignore everything and imdiately go to the airport to stop Anita from leaving.
But there was no ti. It was past 6pm, but she had just sent the ssage to him. It was obvious that she had planned it beforehand.
