Chapter 508: The Heavens Shall Fall (XLIX)

At her words, Aestrea chuckled softly before tilting her chin up with two fingers and kissing her again.

When they parted, Christina’s eyes were half-lidded, her lips slightly parted.

"You always know exactly what to say to make

lt," she murmured.

"Only for you," he replied, brushing his thumb across her lower lip.

"Shall we keep walking? The night’s still young."

She nodded eagerly, slipping her hand back into his.

They continued along the lantern-lit riverside path, the gentle sound of water mingling with distant music from the city streets.

Christina leaned her head against his shoulder as they walked, the pink crystal pendant he’d bought her swaying gently with each step.

"You know," she said after a comfortable silence, "back then I used to pray every night that you’d co back injured just so I could see you again. It’s embarrassing now that I think about it."

"I might have let myself get a little more beat up than necessary sotis. Just to have an excuse." Aestrea smirked.

She gasped in mock outrage and swatted his arm.

"You did not!"

"I did."

He caught her hand and brought it to his lips, kissing her knuckles.

"Your healing touch was the only thing worth coming back for."

Christina’s smile turned shy and pleased.

They turned back toward the bustling main streets, the divine city alive with evening energy.

Colorful banners fluttered overhead, and the scent of roasted ats, sweet pastries, and blooming night flowers filled the air. Carriages rolled past at a leisurely pace, their glowing lanterns swaying.

Christina’s eyes lit up when she spotted a clothing boutique with elegant gowns displayed in the window.

"Oh! Let’s go in there!"

She tugged him inside before he could protest.

The shop was warm and fragrant, filled with racks of divine fabrics that shimred like starlight. An elderly goddess with silver hair greeted them warmly.

"Welco, my dears! Looking for sothing special?"

"Sothing for both of us, actually. He needs to try on a few things too." Christina bead at her with a clearly excited expression.

Aestrea raised an eyebrow but allowed himself to be pulled along.

Christina picked out a deep crimson coat with subtle golden threading for him, then disappeared behind a curtain with several dresses of her own.

When she erged in the first one, a flowing sapphire gown that hugged her curves and shimred like the night sky, Aestrea’s gaze narrowed with open appreciation.

"Turn for ," he said softly.

She did, the fabric swirling around her legs.

He stepped close, and settled his hand on her slender waist.

"You look incredible," he murmured, leaning in to kiss the side of her neck. "But I think I prefer the white one from earlier. It makes your eyes stand out more."

Christina shivered at the kiss and pulled him into a proper one, fingers threading through his white hair.

"Oh my~"

The shopkeeper politely looked away, smiling to herself.

They tried on several more outfits together, laughing when Aestrea erged in a slightly too-formal black suit that made him look like a dark prince.

Christina adjusted his collar, then rose on her toes to kiss him deeply, right there in the fitting area.

"You’re too handso for your own good," she whispered against his lips.

"And you’re going to make

buy the whole shop if you keep looking at

like that," he replied, stealing another kiss.

They left the boutique with two new outfits each, the sapphire gown for her and the black coat for him, wrapped neatly and carried under Aestrea’s arm.

Christina imdiately dragged him toward a food stall next, where a cheerful vendor was grilling skewers of honey-glazed spirit fruit and spiced ats.

"Two of each, please!" she said brightly.

"For the lovely couple? Coming right up!" The vendor grinned.

They sat on a nearby bench, the city lights twinkling around them. Christina tore off a piece of the sweet skewer and held it to Aestrea’s mouth.

"Open."

He obeyed, taking the bite and chewing slowly.

"Not bad."

"Your turn." She leaned in expectantly.

Aestrea picked up a piece of the savory at and fed it to her gently, his fingers brushing her lips.

"Mhm~, it taste really good~!" She humd in delight, then leaned forward to kiss the sauce from the corner of his mouth.

They fed each other like that for several minutes, trading bites and soft kisses between them, completely lost in their little world while the city buzzed around them.

A passing couple smiled at the sight, and one vendor even tossed them an extra skewer "for the cute ones".

Later, they wandered into a small artisan market where glowing orbs of captured starlight were being sold.

Christina paused at a stall displaying intricate music boxes that played soft, haunting lodies when opened.

"This one," she said, pointing to a delicate silver box engraved with tiny roses.

"It reminds

of the lullaby you used to hum when you thought I was asleep after healing you."

Aestrea bought it without hesitation.

When the vendor handed it over, he wound it and held it between them. The soft lody floated out, and Christina rested her head on his shoulder, her eyes closed in contentnt.

Then, he gently kissed her once again, savoring the mont as the music played.

Aestrea’s hand cupped the back of her neck, deepening the kiss until Christina was breathless and clinging to his coat.

"You’re spoiling

too muchtonight," she whispered when they parted.

"You deserve it. After everything... you deserve this and more."

They continued their stroll, stopping at a flower cart where Aestrea bought her a crown of glowing star lilies.

He placed it gently on her golden hair, then kissed her forehead, her nose, and finally her lips in a series of light, playful pecks that made her giggle.

"You’re being so sweet today," she teased, tugging him closer by his new coat. "I might start thinking you actually like ."

"I might," he said with a faint smirk, before pulling her into another deep kiss right in the middle of the street.

Passersby chuckled fondly, but neither of them cared.

As the artificial moon rose higher, they found a quiet spot near a fountain where street musicians played gentle ballads.

Christina pulled Aestrea into a slow dance, her arms around his neck, his hands on her waist.

They swayed together under the stars, foreheads touching, exchanging soft kisses whenever the music swelled.

"I love you," she whispered during one particularly tender mont.

Aestrea’s eyes softened slighly.

"I know," he murmured back, kissing her once more.

They stayed like that until the music ended, then slowly made their way back through the thinning crowds.

Christina’s hand never left his, her new pendant and flower crown catching the lantern light beautifully.

By the ti they reached the edge of the city square, both of them were pleasantly tired, cheeks flushed from laughter and kisses, arms full of small gifts and treats.

"Ready to head back?" Aestrea asked, brushing a stray golden strand from her face.

Christina nodded, leaning up for one last lingering kiss.

"Only if we can do this again soon."

"Deal."

He snapped his fingers, and space folded around them once more.

They reappeared inside the quiet warmth of Aestrea’s personal palace, the distant sounds of the city instantly dissipating away.

Christina looked up at him, her eyes shining with clear happiness.

"Best date ever," she declared softly.

Aestrea smiled, pulling her close again.

"I’m glad you enjoyed it."

Before he could say anything more, Christina took his hand and began tugging him gently but insistently down the corridor.

"Co with ," she whispered, a playful glint in her pink eyes.

Aestrea raised an eyebrow but let her lead.

"Where are we going?"

"My room," she answered without hesitation.

"The other girls are probably either in your chambers or in their own quarters tonight. If we go to mine... no one will steal you away from ."

There was a light possessiveness in her tone that made Aestrea’s lips twitch slighly.

He allowed her to pull him along until they reached her private room, a beautifully decorated space with soft pastel tones, glowing crystals embedded in the walls, and a large, luxurious bed draped in white and gold silks.

The mont the door clicked shut behind them, Christina turned to face him.

With a shy but determined smile, she pushed him backward until the back of his knees hit the edge of the bed.

Aestrea sat down obediently, watching her with a hint of surprise.

Rustle...

Christina took a small step back, her fingers reaching for the laces at the side of her sapphire dress.

She undid them slowly, deliberately, letting the elegant fabric slide down her body in one smooth motion.

The dress pooled at her feet, leaving her standing in nothing but delicate white lace underwear that hugged her curves perfectly.

"Y-you..."

...Aestrea’s eyes widened slightly as he was actually surprised by the underwear she was wearing.

At the sa ti, Christina stood there, her cheeks flushed but holding his gaze with a mix of nervousness and bold desire.

She bit her lower lip seductively, waiting for his reaction.
