Chapter 656: Excellent Coordination
"Haaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!"
Against Elna's attack, Asmodeus concentrates his scales for defense. Even for Elna, she seems to be struggling to break through it. After all Asmodeus, who rivals the demon king, is fully focused on defense. If breaking through were easy, there wouldn't be any trouble. anwhile as Leo and I launched our attacks, it's different from when we were on the ground since despite his massive size, Asmodeus is able to freely fly in the sky. While maintaining his distance from us trying to approach, he launches laser attacks from his snake hair. Even if we sohow get close to him, there are two swords waiting for us. During this, the opening created by Elna disappears.
"We need to sohow stop his movent!"
"I understand!"
I responded to Leo's words but stopping Asmodeus's movents is an extrely difficult task. Asmodeus is directing about eighty percent of his power towards Elna and uses the remaining 20% in dealing with Leo and . Yet, Leo and I can't make a decisive move so unless we sohow manage to disrupt that balance, Asmodeus's advantage won't crumble. However, Asmodeus also doesn't have a way out as he's only managing to defend because he's always on the defense; if he goes on the offensive, the balance will be disturbed which would actually make things easier for us.
Thinking about this.
"He's up to sothing again!"
At Elna's warning, we looked at Asmodeus's wings. Eyes have appeared on the spreaded wings, countless of them.
"Now he truly is a monster."
"He's been a monster from the start."
While saying this, Leo readies the Imperial Sword. And then...
"But monsters exist to be defeated because they go against the laws of nature."
"I agree."
There was no signal and without any agreent, we charged at Asmodeus. It's about ti we fulfilled our roles as attackers. I was starting to feel a bit anxious but I didn't miss the change in Asmodeus. His gaze wasn't on us. It was focused on Elna behind us. Elna hadn't yet adopted an attacking stance aning it wasn't caution. He is locking onto her as his target.
"Prince Leonard!"
"Got it!"
Just with that warning, Leo, who had been near Elna, turned around and headed towards her. Then Elna's movents began to slow as if she was weighed down by sothing. While trying to move sohow, Asmodeus launched an attack at that mont.
"iori!"
It was a corner attack using his horns which Elna couldn't dodge due to her slowed movents. However Leo, who had been heading towards Elna, managed to pull her away just in ti. Asmodeus focusing his attack on just one person had that effect but the ability to slow down Elna's movents was too troubleso. Not wanting to be slowed down by attacking rashly, I teleport below the two.
"Are you okay?"
"Sowhat. That thing is troubleso."
"Paralysis?"
"It felt like the gravity suddenly increased."
"Manipulating the gravity surrounding the target huh? Absorbing nurous demons has really given him a variety of powers."
All the erging techniques are of the authority level, making it almost unfair but that's the kind of opponent we're dealing with. Complaining won't help.
However, as the opponent keeps coming up with counterasures, dragging this out for us is a bad move. (TL: since he might start to reveal more abilitiesbut its not implied here) ℟äΝՕ𐌱Ê𝙎
"If one of us is taken down, the tide of battle will imdiately change so we have to settle this quickly."
"You have a plan, right?"
"Definitely one of us will be restrained, right?"
"If he can only restrain one person, there's a way to deal with it. Do both of you trust ?"
There was a tactic in mind. It was sothing I didn't want to use as it's too risky. But given that the opponent has a thod to immobilize us, this is the best option. The most effective counterasure.
"I suppose I have no choice."
Surprisingly, Elna agrees quickly and Leo quickly follows suit.
"I'll leave it to Silver."
"Then, we'll charge straight ahead."
Upon my words, they make surprised faces but soon smile as if amused.
"What a simple plan."
"Don't expect any excuses, okay?"
Saying so, the two quickly charged ahead while not waiting for my preparations. Not that there was much to prepare for, aside from perhaps being prepared ntally. The reason I didn't want to do it was because the responsibility I would be holding would be too great and it would place a heavy burden on .
"Can't be helped, then..."
I wanted to think of another thod but there was no ti for that, nor was Asmodeus an opponent that would allow it. As the two charged, Asmodeus's wings moved with his target naturally being Elna. The mont the eyes captured Elna, I created a teleportation gate in front of her and also stepped through a gate at the sa ti. I wouldn't teleport right beside Asmodeus just like that as It was a short-distance teleportation. Seeing Elna appear, Asmodeus turned his gaze towards her but another teleportation gate appeared, moving Elna again.
It was a stalemate. So, Asmodeus started to target Leo with the intention of forcing us to save him. Therefore, I also teleported Leo using a gate. Naturally, it would be aningless if I got taken down, so I repeatedly teleported from where I had just moved. Continuous short-distance teleportation for three people. The burden was huge and in the sky, it's hard to understand where I currently am.
Whether I'm above or below. My sense of balance felt like it could go awry but I desperately kept teleporting where I am now and where the two are. This is to ensure my teleportation isn't predictable for Asmodeus while pushing forward those two who are advancing with all their might.
My brain felt like it could fry since everything was at a high speed and I needed the accuracy of threading a needle while also being ready for Asmodeus's attacks. It's like teleporting a rapidly moving ball irregularly while guiding it to the destination without causing a collision. And there's a gatekeeper at the destination, requiring my attention to predict its movents as well. It was truly a ludicrous task with one mistake spelling our end. If I focused too much on teleporting Elna and Leo, I could be the one to fall.
Under such pressure, I gradually brought the two closer together. If I had teleported them directly into Asmodeus's vicinity in a hurry, he might have had a chance to counter. But slowly teleporting them makes it impossible to focus on a target. If Elna is missed, it's over. And then...
"Haahhhhhhhhhh!!!!"
The simultaneous attack by the three of us. I attack from above, Leo from below and Elna from behind. A perfectly synchronized attack after teleportation. Yet, Asmodeus prioritizes defending from Elna's attack and concentrates his scales on his back. He must have sensed Elna's presence from the slight magic power at the mont of appearance….
Impressive.
However...
"We've let you predict the predictable."
At the mont of Elna's attack, I swapped places between myself and Elna. A last-mont teleportation. Normally Elna, who was teleported, would be bewildered but Elna still slashed Asmodeus from above in an instant. The sword she swung split Asmodeus’s sword and right hand into two as he was also cut deeply from the shoulder.
Simultaneously, Leo chopped off his left hand. Seeing this and wanting to counterattack, Asmodeus directed the eyes on his wings at Elna again. Looks like he was still targeting only Elna.
Thinking that he was being persistent, I teleported the two towards to create distance from Asmodeus.
"Haah haah... Surely he can't recover imdiately now..."
My headache was severe due to the excessive strain but there was a feeling of us finally making an impact. Though the area that Elna slashed had already regenerated, Asmodeus’s left hand did not return, nor did the sword. He was clearly weakened, so launching another round of attacks should be the decisive blow.
Planning this...
"Very well done. What excellent teamwork. I admit that defending against it is difficult. However... if that's the case, I'll finish you three in one blow."
Saying this, Asmodeus rose while raising his remaining right hand. Then, an incredible energy began to gather in Asmodeus's right hand.
