Chapter 638: The Cooperating Demons
While Egor and Linares were engaged in evenly matched battles with their respective opponents, Jack and No-Na found themselves forced into an uneasy alliance.
"Hey! Sync up!"
"You sync up!"
The two bickered as they fought against two demons. One was a demon nad Barbatos, who had possessed a small boy. The other was a demon nad Seil, who had possessed a handso young man. Unusually for demons, these two were working together.
"Hahaha! You guys are falling apart!"
"You have no chance of winning."
Barbatos laughed innocently, while Seil spoke coldly. Jack had yet to find a way to break through their combined abilities, which were formidable.
"Jack, if you can silence that hunter, I'll handle the rest."

As he spoke, Jack released an arrow at Barbatos. It was a serious shot, difficult to dodge or counter. However, Barbatos countered it with an arrow of his own.

Barbatos was not just an equal in archery; he also had a special ability: "Sure Shot." It was impossible to dodge his attacks. The only option was to counter them. And that's where Seil's ability ca into play.

Seil waved his finger, and the arrow that Barbatos had shot was swallowed by a hole in space. A mont later, an arrow appeared behind Jack. Seil's ability was "Teleportation." The sure-shot arrows were being teleported, forcing Jack and No-Na into an alliance. But...
"This is troubleso. I'll cut them down. Just hold them off."
"If I get close, they'll just teleport away! Use your head!"
"What should I do, then?"
Whenever No-Na approached, the two demons would imdiately teleport away, showering him with arrows. This had been the pattern so far. They needed a new strategy.
"We need to finish this quickly. If you have a plan, spit it out."
No-Na glanced at the allied forces. The demons were pushing them back and she wanted to go and support them.
"I understand wanting to help the Emperor who restored your na, but focus on what's in front of you."
"Can you talk? You've been glancing at the adventurers, haven't you?"
Jack grimaced, stung by the truth. He too had been struggling to focus. Therefore, he took a deep breath. They were up against demons, and a troubleso pair at that. They needed to concentrate and think clearly to win.
"Let's finish this quickly. Help , No-Na."
"It depends on how good your plan is."
"You're always making others think for you, yet you act so high and mighty."
"It's called the right person for the right job."
No-Na urged Jack to hurry up and co up with a plan. In response, Jack grinned.
"Let's go hunting. You're the hunting dog."
"..."
Even though her face was hidden by a mask, No-Na clearly didn't like the idea. But...
"If you fail, I'll cut you down."
"That's what I want to hear. Now, move as I instruct."
"Left!"
No-Na took the front, and Jack the rear. They went on the offensive. Following Jack's instructions, No-Na charged at Seil and Barbatos. However, the two demons just laughed and teleported away, as they had been doing. Then they showered No-Na with arrows. She deflected one with his sword and another with a backhand strike, feeling his hand go numb from the impact. Annoyed, he glared at Jack. But...
"Charge from the right!"
"Easier said than done!"
No-Na reluctantly charged as instructed. The situation remained the sa: the demons teleported away and attacked him with arrows. Frustrated, she continued to follow Jack's instructions, believing there must be so reason for this. anwhile, Jack was shooting arrows in a completely different direction, which almost made No-Na shout in exasperation.
"Jack, I'm taking this seriously, you know?"
"I'm serious too. Next, attack from above!"
Struggling internally, No-Na obeyed. The demons laughed at his actions. She wondered what she was doing but continued to follow Jack's instructions, persistently chasing the demons.
"Dealing with idiots is tiring."
"Stop complaining, Barbatos. Just play along."
Watching the two demons banter, Jack grinned. They had finally appeared where he wanted them.
"Secret Archery Technique... Magic Sky Light Arrow Cage."
The arrows Jack had been shooting in random directions were all for this mont. Normally, once an arrow is shot, it's over; an archer can't control it. But these arrows were different. The arrows stuck in the ground suddenly floated into the air, while the ones in the sky descended. They ford a cage of arrows, leaving no escape.
"Handle it yourself, Barbatos!"
Seil teleported himself to another location, leaving Barbatos alone in the cage.
"Tch! How selfish!"
Barbatos grumbled and showed off his divine skill. He shot the sa number of arrows at the ones surrounding him. Thanks to his "Sure Shot" ability, all of them hit their mark.
"Take that! You're out of moves now!"
"I'll return the favor."
Jack taunted the triumphant Barbatos. And right in Barbatos' blind spot, No-Na had snuck in.
"Finally caught you."
"Wha...!?"
"I won't wait. O Dark God, hear my voice—don the dark sword of the underworld and annihilate all. Your master now wishes for your dark destruction!"
A dark shadow enveloped No-Na.
"ikage Shuzan!" (TL: Dark Shadow Massacre)
A torrent of dark shadows was unleashed, swallowing Barbatos whole.
