Chapter 652: Chapter 646: The Disgrace of the Kylin

David Jones glanced at the slightly glowing chanical arm guard and instructed with his mind, “Don’t act recklessly.”

If he had not guessed wrong, the Overlord cha slot offered by Peony College probably referred to a cha similar to the Zodiac Pig Series.

This thing, if still, was fine, but once it moved, it was akin to provoking the entire Peony College!

Seeing David Jones showing interest in the cha, Jackson Grant took the initiative to introduce it.

“Martini Goldsmith, a senior student in his fifth year at Peony College, is a monster chanic on par with Rudolf Sherwood.

So say he’s actually stronger than Peony College’s top student Rudolf Sherwood, but the two have never truly tested each other because Martini Goldsmith does not like complications; he is neither after personal glory nor does he care much about the school’s honor.”

“However, Martini Goldsmith has a particular hobby; he especially loves researching, modifying, and upgrading chanical pets. If nothing unexpected has happened, the Overlord cha should be a reward offered by Peony College for his service…”

At this point, Jackson Grant’s eyes filled with a solemn light.

According to the intelligence he was aware of, a fully operational Zodiac Pig ch Armor could not compete with an Epic Trainer, but it could overpower any Class VI King-level opponents.

The only downside was that it required a substantial amount of Arcane Crystals to be operated by non-Epic users.

Luckily, due to the National Trainer Cooperative Competition rules, each participating Overlord battle cha had to seal most of its power; otherwise, the other contestants wouldn’t stand a chance.

Even so, Martini Goldsmith remained a formidable opponent not to be underestimated!

After listening to Jackson Grant’s introduction, David Jones nodded slightly and continued to watch the beauty, no, to observe Rosewood College’s next round of opponents.

Glazewater College’s draw for the opponent was Crystal Academy. Relying on strength suppression, they only needed four participants to secure the victory.

Imdiately following was Bella Wanton from Phoenix College, whom David Jones had t in the Beast Refining Tower.

Phoenix College was lucky as their opponent just happened to be one of the only three first-rate Beast Taming College teams in the top sixteen.

So, Bella Wanton still had not participated, leaving David Jones slightly disappointed as he wanted to use the opportunity to gather information on the opponent’s pets.

“Captain, aren’t you watching the match anymore?”

Watching David Jones stand up, Yi Qing widened her beautiful eyes in surprise.

“No more watching; they all like to hide and keep secrets, better to go ho and properly cultivate,” David Jones replied.

Within the sona Space.

David Jones looked at the silent firestone cage, empty of any creature, and, spreading his hands open, asked Lolo calmly, “Did the Firewood Kylin leave?”

“Tweet chirp.” (It should have.)

Lolo blinked its bright green eyes, revealing a trace of curiosity.

“Tweet chirp?” (Why didn’t you let keep it?)

Not to brag, but with its strength, Lolo could totally handle a Class IV middle-level Firewood Kylin.

“A forcibly twisted lon may be edible, but it won’t be sweet,” said David Jones softly.

To take what cos to him is fortune, to lose what he cannot keep is fate. Since the Firewood Kylin wished to exchange a blessing for its freedom, why shouldn’t he let the kylin go?

After all, he had already received his reward, and it had greatly helped him!

Of course, to be extra cautious, he had collected no less than eight vials of Redeed Flas while the Firewood Kylin was unconscious, planning to leave them for Rainbow to research the Ice-Fire Zone further.

As for breaking his word and regretting his promise, David Jones only considered it for a mont before resolutely rejecting the idea.

An Ultimate Emperor Kylin was indeed rare, but not enough for him to forcefully keep it. Otherwise, as strong as the kind’s potential of the Firewood Kylin might be, the resulting explosion from this bomb would be just as damaging when it went off.

Furthermore, given that the Firewood Kylin was an auspicious beast of heaven and earth, a matter tied to the ethereal concept of destiny, David Jones decided it was better to be cautious.

So things, if not done, should be left undone, but if done, they should be done completely!

“Huh?” (Did that mongrel kid leave?)

Rainbow scratched its head, wondering if it had been too rough!

“Yip!” (That unreliable mongrel, better not let see it again!)

Confused, Rainbow made a light “tsk” and spat out a draught of dragon saliva.

“Roar!” (Mudfish, who are you calling a mongrel?)

An ear-splitting roar suddenly erupted, transforming into a shockwave that swept across the area, followed by a dazzling blaze of fire from the sky. It was David Jones’ Firewood Kylin, which he had mistakenly thought to have left.

Upon seeing Rainbow, the kylin hesitated for a mont; then it slowly closed its eyes, and after a long while, it made a roaring sound to keep its promise.

“Roar!” (Big brother!)

The Firewood Kylin was reluctant to make the call, but its pride prevented it from breaking its word.

“Yip!”

Rainbow, emulating a human gesture, lifted its head and deliberately looked away from the Firewood Kylin, much to the Kylin’s annoyance, who even ca forward to challenge Rainbow to a fight to regain its honor.

Watching the fierce battle between the Flood Dragon and the Kylin in the distance, David Jones shook his head.

He had a feeling that the Firewood Kylin’s refusal to leave was probably due to its unwillingness to admit defeat.

But that’s good, not admitting defeat!

As Rainbow grows stronger over ti, the increasing gap in strength will show the Firewood Kylin just how significant the difference is between a Pet and one with a Trainer.

Then, taming the Kylin for himself would be much easier.

As expected, Rainbow exploited the two-rank difference in strength to dominate the Firewood Kylin, who complained about the unfairness.

Rainbow’s retort was like Garen’s whispered battle cry: silent yet undefendable, piercing straight through the Firewood Kylin’s pride and leaving it completely bewildered.

“Yip?” (Unfair? I’m four years old, how about you?)

Upon hearing this, the Firewood Kylin trembled, rolled its eyes, and pretended to faint from exhaustion.

It couldn’t admit that, at over sixty years of age, it was unable to defeat a four-year-old Flood Dragon. Better to feign unconsciousness than to speak such a shaful truth.

It was at this mont that the Firewood Kylin began to question the ancestral mories in its mind and pondered a doubt.

Had it tarnished the honor of the Firewood Kylin family, or had the ancestors overpraised the Kylin lineage?

As a beacon of the Firewood Kylin’s glory, it couldn’t even defeat a four-year-old mudfish!!!

Such a disgrace!

anwhile, David Jones adopted a stance of silent observation, sitting quietly under the Bodhi Tree and relishing the nearly doubled cultivation speed.

In the afternoon, the competition continued. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, David Jones led his team onto the Battle Platform.

To his disappointnt, Glazewater College opted to surrender without their captain, Jane Pauline, even attending the match, giving up the contest.

It seed they intended to conserve their Pet’s condition to compete with Blunt Colledge for two advancing spots in the losers’ bracket, allowing Rosewood College to smoothly advance to the winner’s bracket semifinals.

As the date for the semifinals drew near, more and more Trainers from the Flowery Kingdom were setting their sights on David Jones, the hottest freshman Trainer, and so dia outlets even dubbed him as the strongest freshman student in history.

“Such a tacky nickna, not as good as the ‘Big Four’ from before!” David Jones couldn’t help but complain as he looked at the news on his phone.

“Captain, are you sure you plan to use the Titanium Ragdoll, no, I an the Destiny Dragondoll in combat?” Jackson Grant asked with a complex look in his eyes.

What’s going on, Captain!

Playing the trump card in previous matches was one thing, but now bringing out two pairs to a trio in the semifinals? Are you really not afraid of an upset?
