“How much is the toll usually?” David Jones asked curiously.
“Ten low-level magic stones per person,” Greenox replied.
“Ten stones per person isn’t too bad, no wonder they can keep this toll business going,” David Jones muttered.
The low-level magic stones Greenox ntioned are the primary Type Arcane Crystals sold in bulk on the Flowery Kingdom’s Train Beast Mall. Ten low-level magic stones would be worth about 100,000 star coins, equivalent to one or two Level II sona plants.
For so powerful people, it barely affects them, no wonder it does not arouse public anger.
After chatting casually with Greenox for a bit, David Jones’ attention returned to Aqua.
“How do you feel after taking the enhance external alchemy?”
“It feels great, even the flesh on my palm has healed, thanks to your elixir!”
Upon finishing, Aqua showed David Jones her flawless palm, which no longer bore the previous grisly sight of exposed bone.
“You’re welco, healing you was sothing we agreed on,” David Jones said calmly, though he felt sowhat taken aback.
The elixir should only strengthen and refine the bones, and should not have any healing effects.
He had given Aqua the elixir first to strengthen her skeletal structure in preparation for the next step of flesh healing.
Little did David Jones expect Aqua’s talent to be so strong, requiring just a day to regenerate her flesh.
“What kind of existence is this Ghost Deity, and when compared to the God Egg residing in my body, which one is stronger?”
Just as David Jones contemplated, the long-dormant God Egg dwelling in the Origin Star Space began to stir as if unhappy. A thin droplet of liquid dropped from the God Egg onto the Origin Star.
The sudden gift from the God Egg left David Jones sowhat surprised, but as the imnse power cascaded upon him, he had no ti for any further thoughts and entered a ditative state.
Seeing David Jones close his eyes to rest, Aqua clenched her teeth and stared at him intently with her brilliant, sapphire-like eyes.
Her actions caught Lolo’s attention.
When Lolo and Aqua’s eyes t for the first ti, both could feel the wariness and astonishnt in each other’s gaze before they simultaneously looked away.
The setting sun cast its fiery afterglow upon the barren path, tinting the wild grass an especially deep shade of red.
The ox cart, which had been traveling for so ti, finally stopped.
“The Yellow Ranked Spiritual Realm is truly profound, even with the three droplets of water from the God Egg, I am still unable to make the leap from the Yellow to the Blue Rank,” David Jones said, slightly regretfully as he opened his eyes.
He had discovered that the God Egg within the Origin Star Space only responded to the tactic of provocation.
As long as David Jones ntally praised the invincibility of the Ghost Deity realm, the God Egg would stubbornly drop a droplet of water as if to assert its own magnificence.
Unfortunately, after three occurrences, the God Egg returned to its dormant state no matter how much further provocation David Jones attempted.
As David Jones clenched his fist, a searing fla ford around it.
“Though I didn’t break through the Yellow Ranked Spiritual Realm, I managed to increase the number of Rune Circles engraved on the Origin Star for the Afterglow Array to 196, reaching the Proficient Realm.
Now, I should be able to refine Class V elixirs; as for whether I can successfully refine a Class VIB tier elixir, I can only find out by trying!”
David Jones, who had just finished breaking through, glanced out of the carriage window. Ahead of the ox-cart, a vast lake with shimring waves and surging currents entered his sight.
On the rippling azure surface of the lake, several sultry rmaids with large patches of snow-white skin exposed were frolicking carelessly.
With just a casual wave of their hands, the waves on the lake started to gather, creating crystal-clear droplets under the setting sun and causing ripples to radiate outwards.
A beautiful rmaid noticed that there were passersby and exchanged a glance with David Jones before hurriedly diving into the depths of the lake and disappearing from sight.
Seeing this, the remaining rmaids also dived into the lake.
At the sa ti, a squad of fully ard shrimp soldiers wielding elite weapons leaped onto the shore, and Greenox’s face beca serious.
“There are three of us, this is the road toll. There is a VIP in the carriage, and it would be inconvenient to disturb them. I ask the Shrimp general to grant us passage.”
Greenox shoved thirty low-rank magic stones into the shell of the leading shrimp soldier, then secretly added another ten low-rank magic stones when the other soldiers were not watching.
To avoid arousing the VIP by having the shrimp soldiers check the carriage’s occupants, Greenox had no choice but to spend money to smooth things out.
After weighing the magic stones hidden in its shell, the shrimp soldier’s serious expression beca amiable. With a wave of its right hand, a dium-sized sailboat that could accommodate the ox-cart was brought over.
Driven by Greenox, the Plough Bull reluctantly stepped onto the boat. The boat then slowly moved forward under the propulsion of the shrimp soldiers’ currents.
“Not only are they providing the boat, but they also have shrimp soldiers taking the lead. This is hardly a road toll; it’s more like a ferry fare.” David Jones marveled.
On the other side, seeing that everything was normal on the river, Greenox breathed a sigh of relief.
He didn’t want to damage the VIP’s opinion of him because of trivial matters on the road, especially since he still needed David Jones to heal the hidden injuries he’d suffered.
However, the thing he dreaded the most eventually happened!
As the boat sailed to the middle of the lake, close enough to see the opposite shore from afar, a towering wave suddenly rose quietly in front of it.
“That wave!” Greenox’s pupils contracted, “It can’t be that Jewel, the head of the rmaids, has personally arrived.”
As Greenox’s voice fell, the wave collapsed in front of them, revealing a head with azure hair as deep as the darkest lake water.
Imdiately after, a seductive figure with snow-white skin, a beautiful face, and bewitching charm appeared quietly.
Below her perfect waist, the shallow blue fishtail that was considered the only flaw in the humans’ eyes seed sowhat insignificant.
She was Jewel, the lake master of rmaid lake.
“It’s actually a Ghost King!”
Feeling the incomparably overwhelming pressure, Greenox’s heart sank.
Not to ntion that he was currently suffering from hidden injuries, even if he was in his pri, he wouldn’t be a match for a Ghost King Elite.
“Fine, after living ekly for so many years, it’s ti to go all out and risk my life!” Greenox did not attempt to escape but instead stood in front of the carriage, resisting the powerful domination with his seemingly insignificant flesh.
Jewel didn’t even glance at Greenox. Her vast, sea-like eyes turned to the carriage, her voice crisp and pleasing, carrying a trace of soul-snatching allure.
“My na is Jewel, a newly erging Ghost King. It’s rare to et a kindred spirit, so as the host, I would like to invite the distinguished guests to share so wine and conversation.”
Seeing that the people in the carriage showed no intention of interacting, Jewel’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, and her eyes were sowhat puzzled.
In the Umbral Kingdom, when Ghost Kings et, they usually first display their domination against each other to determine their respective strengths and weaknesses before engaging in a hearty conversation.
Although she was a rmaid and not a ghost, under the overriding power, she could only use the Ghosts’ way to make friends with the strong.. Was there anything wrong with that?
