Even after the streak of lightning passed them by the allies and the curse terrorists failed to react. By the ti they register what truly transpired it was already too late. All eyes were fixed on the figure covered in black, the Nazir, who was pierced by the streak of lightning. A clean bullet size hole could be seen between his brows. Yet, no trace of blood could be seen on his forehead because the heat from the projectile had burned the wound as it exited his skull cleanly.
Despite the mortal wound, Nazir’s body continued to hover in the air, holding up the sub-space orb. It appeared as if the 0.16mm radius hole in his forehead did not hinder him in the slightest.
Seeing his body didn’t plumt and disperse into the surroundings, everyone began to wonder if he was still sohow alive. Honestly, the way he hovered in place, without even a wince or a moan was a pretty daunting sight to watch. The allies were regretting not negotiating with him earlier.
However, their regret vanished as they saw Nazir’s head suddenly grow in size. It ballooned up bigger than his body. With his forehead growing the hole on it grew too. Soon, a pair of monster claws held on to the edges of the hole from within his body, as if trying to stretch the hole and climb out of the body. Simultaneously, various other parts of Nazir’s body began to balloon up including the hands. Causing it to loosen its grip on the sub-space orb and drop it.
"Shit run!" Banner scread at his comrades, seeing the abnormal changes in the Nazir. Then without checking on his comrades, he ran in the opposite direction of the allies at his fastest speed.
anwhile, Delores dove down at her fastest speed to retrieve the sub-space orb before the curse terrorists could get to it. But to her surprise none of them reacted to it, making it painfully clear to her and the allies that the captured agents weren’t in the orb. The curse terrorists were bluffing. Best case scenario. the captured agents escaped or in the worst case scenario, the curse terrorists killed them at the first chance they got.
"Shit, I hate that kid," Matthews cursed observing the dead curse terrorist’s corpse balloon up to an inhumane degree while remaining scattered at the fastest speed they can fathom. This wasn’t the first ti Matthews had seen such a scene. The last few tis she saw this scene was when curse charrs died: all their chard Curselings regained freedom and went on a rampage simultaneously.
"Dusk Dominion!" Matthews uttered, dragging her allies, the scattered curse terrorists, and the inflated human corpse balloon into her innate curse Dominion. Now that it had co to this she could only pray that by so miracle Agents Marcus and Berry were alive having managed to escape the curse terrorists. She knew it was wishful thinking but she could only hope.
...
"Ace, co lets go help my mom," Ava said, seeing her mother moving the entire battle to her innate curse dominion.
"No, she missed one. We need to deal with it before it reaches the town," I said, noticing the Curseling hidden underneath the collapsed hill, after regaining its freedom, was suddenly on the move and heading towards the town.
Since the Curseling was underground the whole ti and didn’t even show a part of its body even once, I had no idea what the Curseling or its curse abilities were. Except for its humongous size, high tier, and underground tunneling ability, I had no information on it. I was out of my depth here but I had to act because if I don’t a lot of innocent lives would be at stake here.
"Huh?" Ava uttered, not understanding what I was talking about. Ignoring her, I began to communicate with Emi and DD using the status screen.
Following my instructions, Emi, who was in the field, summoned the curse toybox and let DD out, as she was the pro among us when it cos to underground battles, especially with my other toy summons ’Cursed Elven Queen’s Staff.’ Being summoned DD imdiately jumped into action and hurriedly caught up with the tunneling Curseling and made use of the roots and stones in the ground to restrain the Curseling from going any further.
’Dr. Druid’ and ’Cursed Elven Queen’s Staff’ combo was strong and deadly, but I was still not completely assured about their victory because the Curseling was not only sky-tier but massive, almost the size of a small hill. Yet, it was both fast and stealthy. All of its physical traits suggested that it was an apex predator.
Well, she wasn’t alone. Hopefully, Emi and I would be enough to tip the scale against the Curseling for the sake of the town and its innocent townsn. However, Emi and I could be of no help to Dr. Druid as long as the Curseling continued to stay underground. Therefore, her primary goal was to bring the Curseling to the surface, where Emi would use her new curse suppression talisman to keep the Curseling above the surface, while I took a shot at it using the rail rifle.
Tremors began to form as the Curseling and the DD struggled underground. The battle was taking place so close to the town that the tremors spread to it. The townspeople felt as if they were hit by an earthquake sending another wave of panic through town, throwing it into total and utter chaos. If this continued any longer, there won’t be a town left to protect.
[ —-Status Screen—
Ace: DD, how much longer?
DD: Master, I am sorry but I am barely able to hold it in place. Its entire body is covered in long, hair-like tendrils, they are super sharp and strong. They not only help it in digging and tunneling but also anchoring itself. They easily cut the roots as soon as I use them to restrain it. This has turned into a battle of attrition.]
